Something about the skeleton that they were facing made Thrawn freeze in his tracks. He could not figure out why but his body refused to move they way he wanted it do despite the danger he was in. He cursed himself out loud, trying desperately to work up the courage to fight but nothing came of it. From their lack of actions or words the others must have been feeling the same things.
Thrawn braced himself for what was coming. He hoped that the skeleton will focus on him long enough for Fyrra and Merrake to snap out of it and help him if he got hurt. Fortunately he was already in a defensive stance so Thrawn was not completely exposed, hopefully the coming blow would not take him out of the fight completely.

Thrawn would find that he was too scared to move, even after the skeleton shambled up and swung at him not once, but twice. The first attack missed, too shallow to actually hit the beast of a man. How it missed the broadside of such a huge and muscly person is beyond this narrator. It must have realized its mistake as it shuffled a little closer and swung at the barbarian again, cutting him on his calf. There was no protection there, and the wound bled. There wasn't much damage beyond the scratch however. Merrake would remain too fearful still to move. Fyrra suffered the same and more, she was nearly ready to flee in terror, or faint. If Fyrra could have possibly voided her bladder she would have. Luckily for her sarong she couldnt. She was too scared to do anything productive. Her knees became jelly and she fell onto her ass, holding her head in her hands, trying to get a grip on herself. She didn't understand why it scared her so. Was it the hateful eyes? Was it the skeleton grin?
Myrra's fear was self perpetuating. Thrawn wasn't even defending himself. If he couldn't defend himself how could she defend anyone? How could she protect Fyrra?
Hopelessness and terror ran rampant through the catacombs.

Despite the Skeleton cutting into him Thrawn had hard time moving or thinking. He was too overcome with dread to do anything other than stand there and bleed. He tried pushing himself attack the creature but to no avail. He was too petrified to even turn to see how the others were doing.
Thrawn's hands shook so much he was barely able to keep his weapons raised, he wanted to run, hide, scream but he simply could no do anything to save himself from what was about to happen to him.

The skeleton continued its onslaught! It swung one, two, three times more and every single time it swung at its stationary target it somehow misjudged the distance, and missed the man completely. Thrawn was quite literally hanging on by the graces of good fortune. This was the moment that would allow Fyrra to seize control of herself once again, being able to move and take action going forward against this monstrosity. Fyrra could stand it no longer. She had to do something. Finally she broke free from the fear and moved in to Thrawn's aid. First she used her restore spell to heal the wounds he had accrued from the skeleton. Hopefully enough to keep him going while he worked through the terror that had gripped them all. Then she took a deep breath, as she stepped next to Thrawn, and exhaled a cone of flames at the Skeleton Warrior, meaning to burn it to ash like she had the others.
Perhaps this wouldn't be enough, perhaps her flames were not strong enough to engulf it completely, but if they were, the skeleton would return to dust in no time at all.

The fact that the creature continued to miss Thrawn almost made him snap out of his frightened state. The entire situation was absurd and there was nothing Thrawn could do to snap out of it.
Just as he was starting to worry that his luck would run out, Fyrra was beside him once again mending his wounds and breathing fire at the skeleton. He was glad that at least one of them could move and fight, this pushed him to fight back. He swallowed his fear and strode forward towards the skeleton and put all of his anger an frustration into one powerful Smash with his mace and followed it up with another blow.

The skeleton moved at the last second but was still hit with the brunt of the flames from the fire breath that Fyrra spewed forth from her mouth. Thrawn attempted to follow up her attack with a mighty smash of his own, but the creature had moved to counter Fyrra, and narrowly dodged his attack by a wide margin. The monstrosity stabbed the Kalimbra in the right shoulder first, her hard leather armor did nothing to protect that area at all. Then the undead swung at Thrawn, a mere fending attack to keep the Darthaki barbarian from coming to the Kalimbra's defense. In the brief moment after, the skeleton warrior's rusted blade flashed again at the Kalimbra. It slashed her across the groin, carving through her silk sarong in a singular strike. Blood would ruin the garment and splatter the ground underneath her. Her mobility would suffer, and she'd continue to bleed until the flow was staunched. Fyrra screamed when she was scratched the first time, and then screamed again louder the second time she was slashed. The carving in her flesh was deep, she fell over immediately and tried to scramble backwards. Blood was gushing from her wound. She thought she was rendered without a womanhood any longer. She thought it would also be her last moments, that she was going to bleed out. These things rushed through her head along with fear and her life. Then she remembered that if she did die she'd go to her god Azuloth, and that all would be right again for all the pain she caused.
Then she remembered she was a mage, and she had the capability to make more amends before death. The more she fixed before she died the better she would feel. She directed her power to fixing her wounds. There wasn't much more she could do other than that at the moment to stave off exsanguination, she had deep wounds.
Merrake snapped to her senses and unsheathed her blade, then charged the skeleton, weaving in two slashes as part of her movement to cut the head and face of the monster.

The Skeleton's attack did little to deter Thrawn from charging the creature once again. Seeing Fyrra get cut into so badly only fueled his rage, though seeing Merrake leap into action did help him feel better.
With a roar Thrawn raised his shield and charged at the creature's hoping to stun it or knock it down. Whether or not that connected he would swing his bone mace at two more times; once at the head then the other at the abdomen. Thrawn wanted to go all out and keep pressing the attack on the skeleton, even if it meant leaving himself open for attacks, in fact he would rather the skeleton focused on him than his friends.

"Merrake, Merrake. I'm bleeding... it won't stop bleeding. It's gone isn't it? I'm not a woman anymore, am I?"
"Shh shh. You're ok. Keep healing, you're ahead of it. I'm going to take a look ok?"
"Yes, yes! Quick!"
Fyrra was still on the floor. Merrake went over to her and took a look at her wound. Blood was continuing to seep out of the Kalimbra's groin. The bodyguard tore a piece of cloth off of her shirt and wiped the blood away to get a better look. The blade had caught her between her womanhood and her thigh, essentially severing an important tendon and slashing open an equally important artery.
"You're fine, you're intact."
"Oh thank Azuloth.. oh that was close..."
"I'm going to put some pressure on it and try to stop the bleeding. Keep healing."
Merrake did just that, and Fyrra did what she was told. Trying to stitch her flesh back together with the power she had at her fingertips. The kalimbra was relieved to hear that she was intact. She could now focus and stop panicking at the thought that she wasn't.
"Anything we can use to help us get out of here come from the skeleton, Thrawn?"

Thrawn stood still even after the skeleton collapsed before him breathing in and out heavily through gritted teeth. Adrenaline was surging through him, he almost continued to bash in the remaining bones but Fyrra's frantic cries made him snap out of it.
He sighed in relief when Merrake said she was okay and went to check on what skeleton dropped.
"Damaged armor and shield, rusted stone and aha!" Thrawn exclaimed when he found the ingot and the bone. "Won't be much good here it's something, oh and some coins."
He handed the coins off to Merrake and examined the broken and rusted items again.
"I don't think any of that useful, but I can fix it up when we get out if you really want anything."
With that Thrawn leaned against a wall and slide down to eh ground letting himself cool off.
"That...was a mean skeleton."

Merrake helped Fyrra up off the floor of the catacombs. The Kalimbra leaned on her bodyguard. She was still wounded, but the bleeding had stopped and she was stable. Her usual tinge of blue was now a much lighter shade. She had lost a lot of blood.
"I did not like that. Thank you, Merrake and Thrawn for keeping me from dying to that thing. I was not expecting it. Merrake, you have permission to assist me in walking, and retroactively for your aid."
"I'd hate to have to commit suicide after this is over. Thank you for the permission. That injury is going to be with you for a while."
"I'll live though."
"Lead the way Thrawn, this seems to be a dead end."
The two Drokagr would wait on him to lead. Fyrra clung to her bodyguard. Merrake was now burdened, though she felt honored. The room was a dead end though. Empty save for their blood and the bones left behind. Merrake recalled that there was another path they had yet to take when they had left the prior room.
"I think there's a hallway outside this room and a little left and then right? Almost diagonal from us?"

With a nod Thrawn lead the way down the hall. Even though his lantern provided him with adequate light he moved carefully making sure not to walk into any pitfalls or the like.
"You know, I almost didn't come here today. I wanted to go see the market, maybe find some books or the sort. But noooo, I had to go explore these dank, desolate, and dark catacombs, of course I've always been drawn to history. Now here I am, fighting things out of history! What blasted luck."
After that little rant Thrawn would continue to follow the hallway silently until they would come across more rooms or any other clearing.
