Now that he was healed up and the skeleton not being an immediate threat Thrawn could think straight, he realized that he was blocking Fyrra and Merrake. He knew he had to move out of their way, but at the same time he had an advantage that he could not pass up on now that the monster was stunned.
Feeling rejuvenated from Fyrra's healing and seeing the skeleton halt in fear of him Thrawn pressed the attack. This time the Barbarian made a flanking maneuver coming at the skeleton from it's side, hoping to give his friends a clear shot and would try to finish the skeleton off with two swift blows.
Flanking and two slashes.

Merrake finally got a clean angle on the skeleton, but as she drew back the bow into a firing position her arms shook and strained. Realizing that she was likely to hit Thrawn in that weakened and tired state, she gently relaxed the weapon so it was no longer a threat. She would need more rest to continue fighting. Luckily for the three of them, Thrawn seemed to have plenty of energy in store. Inside she was beating herself up.
Fyrra was going to make sure he continued to have enough life blood to keep fighting. Though she could use magic to attack the skeleton, she was more concerned about Thrawn's health than finishing off the assailant.
"Hang in there, Thrawn!"
"Get it!"

Thrawn's wounds continued to stitch themselves back together as Fyrra healed him. Her spell work was effective on him, and would continue to be so until his body could get no healthier. As for the skeleton, it was out maneuvered and destroyed by Thrawn's swift blows, breaking it apart into bony splinters. When the dust of battle settled there were only a few things worth retrieving from the bodies. Enough coin to form six ritz, and a few intact bones.
Bone (x3) -Crafting ingredient. Gold: 6 +1 Stat points for both players.

"I'm so glad that's over."
"Me too. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful, Thrawn."
"Do you need any more healing?"
Both women started to focus on Thrawn. The Kalimbra's wheels were turning on how she would repay him for helping them both through these catacombs. Merrake's wheels were turning as well, but in an opposite direction. She was thinking about how she could be of more help in this scenario. They both took some time to rest so that they could be of use later on. Merrake entering her meditative stance on the floor with her legs crossed and her bow across her lap. Fyrra stood nearby examining the bones on the floor without picking them up or looking too carefully.
"These skeletons are intriguing. I wonder what animates them so?"

"That's alright, I think we're getting better at this anyways," Thrawn said as he knelt down by the bones to examine them. "I'll be fine Kalimbra I just need some rest, thank you for the healing."
He picked up the bones, examining their weight and feel, thinking about what the can use them for. Maybe a mace if he can reinforce it with some metal, maybe into daggers and arrow heads. As he was sifting through the bones he found the six ritz and passed them on to the Fyrra as he pondered her question.
"Could a necromancer be using this tomb for something? I doubt the bones reanimated on their own free will," he said as lay down on the ground, weapon at his side. "Or it may a curse of some sort, souls damned to spend their afterlife guarding the catacombs from would be tomb raiders."

"I think we could all use a little rest. I know my bow arm does."
"We are getting better at this though. You are quite welcome for the healing."
Fyrra mulled over the argument that Thrawn presented about the skeletons. She continued to examine them while catching her breath. She took the coins that Thrawn passed to her and passed them on to Merrake. The Kalimbra then bent down to pick up one of the skulls and examine it further. She wasn't sure what she was looking for, she wasn't really looking into it that much. How it was actually being animated wasn't really on the list of things she wanted to know. Sure, there was curiosity, but that broached the darker areas of magic.
"However they're being animated, it's probably not good to go digging into it. I don't know why a Necromancer would use these catacombs though. We accidentally got down here. Maybe there isn't a way out that's still easily accessible?"
"Oh please don't say that."
"Oh.. yes that is depressing. Let's just keep moving?"

"There has to be a way out somewhere, even if we have dog it out ourselves," Thrawn said as he stood up dusting himself off. "I hope we do run into a necromancer here, I'm not sure what I want to do more, kill him, or ask him questions."
The barbarian thought that the companions looked like they needed to a rest a little longer, but he was getting tired of being in this undead infested catacomb. Thrawn approached the southern doorway making sure that his lantern was still burning.
"You two rest up some more, I'll take a look at what's ahead, if it's clear I'll let you know," Thrawn said as he brandished his bone mace. "If there's trouble, well, I'm sure you'll be able to hear it."
Thrawn walked forward carefully to see what awaited them in the next room.

Corridor Southwest Forty Five
Once Thrawn passed through the next threshold, to the south, he would find that there were two paths before him. The corridor led both to his right, the west, and forwards, to the south. Both hallways were equally long, about twenty meters. In the southerly one was a brazier that was still about half full of fuel. There was nothing but what appeared to be another junction to an additional corridor in the western hall where it ended at those twenty meters. Apparently it turned further right. There was a similar junction at the end of the southern hall that turned towards the right as well. Opposite of that path was what appeared to be a door. There was nothing else of import in sight.

Thrawn's hopes for a necromancer struck Fyrra in a way that surprised her. When he mentioned he didn't know if he'd rather kill or question such a person she became fascinated by the thought. Bringing the dead back to life. Or some semblance of it. These corpses around her would have no normal life if they were reanimated, but they could be put to use instead of rotting.
"Interesting. I understand that necromancy is dangerous and that it is forbidden. But does it have any practical uses? I don't know a lot about it other than what the common concept is."
"You're asking the wrong body guard, Kalimbra. I don't know any of our kind that practice it in any capacity other than basic study."
The pair lingered behind for a moment, resting and making sure they were ready for the next fight.

"Looks clear!" Thrawn called back towards the two. "Just two corridors, move up when you're ready. I'm going t scout a little further ahead."
Thrawn moved down the southern corridor to where the brazier was. Thrawn took careful measured steps, making sure not to run into any pits on skeletons that were hiding just out of his sight. If he reached the brazier without incident Thrawn would tear a page from his journal and used his lantern to burn it. He tossed the burning page into the brazier as he stepped back in case the flames got too intense. More illumination could not hurt their situation.
He did not want to move too far ahead without his friends, but he approached the door and put his ear against it trying to listen for any movement from inside, as he waited for the Half-Drokagrs to move up.

Listening with Intent
Thrawn pressed his ear against the hard wood, listening intently to the sounds within the sealed room. For a while there was nothing. Then there was a creak, like the arthritic popping of an old man's knees, then the slap of bone on stone. There was something in there, and it was likely to be undead if current trends kept up.
Things were clear in that hallway, but not in the room he was listening in on.

Once they got the all clear from Thrawn, they dusted themselves off and proceeded to his position down the hall. Once they caught up to him they tilted their heads in qeustion. He had his ear pressed to the door.
"Do you hear something?"
Fyrra kept her question to a whisper. Merrake idled next to her charge, waiting for a threat.

"Sounds like more skeletons," Thrawn whisped back to Fyrra, "get ready, hopefully we'll catch them off guard again."
Thrawn took a step back and got ready to kick open the door. Making sure that he had good footing and that his lantern was still lit Thrawn kicked at where the handle of the door would have been. Once again to his ever increasing frustration the door did not budge, he doubted that they would still have the element of surprise if there was any creature in that room that could hear them. Once again Thrawn gave the door another kick, it seemed like the door was growing even stronger somehow. With a growl of frustration Thrawn threw himself shoulder first at the door. This was getting ridiculous.
Thrawn took a few steps back growling in frustration and launched himself at the door once again. His face was turning bright red and not from exhaustion, though he was getting tired of that damn door. Once again he charged the door for the fifth time only to bounce back off the wall and nearly fall over.
Now the exhaustion was setting in, Thrawn knew he had one more good shove in him. So he went even furher back and ran right at the door leaping at the last possible moment to throw everything he has at that blasted door. The wood shattered before his weight, his momentum carried him into the room, he barely managed to roll in order to stop from falling flat on his face.
Thrawn cam to a defensive stance at the end of the roll with his shield out, he frantically drew his mace and prepared himself for the coming fight.

The shambling sound was a Skeleton Warrior, it had been hobbling around in circles around the center of the room. When Thrawn burst through the room it was startled for just a second, then it hefted its sword and took a cautious step towards its foe. The man with the shield and mace was going to be attacked any second now, as soon as the skeleton worked up enough malice to do so. And it was already brimming with the stuff.
It raised its shield and cackled at the man.

Fyrra got ready. Thrawn bashed through the door after a couple of attempts. Once he was inside Merrake and Fyrra came around the corner in that order. Merrake had her bow raised, Fyrra was armed with a look of sheer determination. She was ready to roast some skeletons in a violent manner. The skeleton they spotted was armed and more fearsome than the others from before. It scared Fyrra, and Merrake. It was terrifying to the point that they could do nothing at all. It was almost like they were paralyzed.
The Kalimbra did not like this feeling of being overcome by fear, she did not like not being able to move at all for that moment. It terrified her more than the skeleton did. She felt its raw power, and how helpless she was against the emotion. What was there to do? Die? Fight? She felt like she could do neither. She couldn't even scream.
Merrake hated the feeling. Hate brimmed up inside her. Hate against the Skeleton, and against herself for being so weak as to be afraid of it to the point where she could not loose her arrow against it. She would hate herself more if she could not save her charge or Thrawn from it, that is, until the monstrosity chopped her into little pieces.
