Bishop had unmistakably wandered into the land of trade and sorts. His clothing jangling and clashing against each piece as he move without caution. Such a place lacked vibes of hostility, but rather people of harmony and want, as well fine relationship. Many had smiles, some looked dumbstruck or flushed with embarrassment; As they lost out on a fine deal! However, such was not of Bishop's concern. While he did indeed want to crack a smile, a half one at the most, he chose to do against it and retain his solemn appearance. He need not seem unprofessional before these men and women. Especially the shop owner, for the Landgrave harbored a request. One he felt, made him seem lowly.
None the less, the Landgrave did proceed. Moving toward Kable and his band of partners. Bishop's eyes veiled over by his solid helm. Only his mouth and part of his nose to be seen. The male placing his hands behind his back and intertwining his fingers, lacing them among one another. His throat, although not visible, had buckled as he swallow heavily. He despised asking others for aid when he wasn't in desperate need. However, such pride need be thrown as it would likely be his undoing. The son of Trevor had then shook his head, inhaling and then quickly exhaling shortly after.
"Sir Kable, I request a loan. A measly fifteen gold is all I ask of, as I'm need of a blade.."

Kable, sitting behind a wooden table with many pieces of paper spread about them looked the young man over. He decided he was crazy to ask for just fifteen gold. People didn't do that. Besides, Kable would make nothing off of that sort of deal. Fifteen gold? The business man scoffed out loud. He laced his fingers and rest his elbows on the table.
"Son, I don't underwrite a loan to make less than the ink and paper it's worth. Did you mean to say a hundred Ritz? Or A hundred fifty? Something workable? What do you do for a living anyway, how do you make your money? I need to be sure you're a solid investment, see?"
One of the Skaldi guards walked past the table, doing his rounds. He was huge, and gnarly. His scales were dark green, and his armor had seen better days. The creature was at least eight feet tall, and carried a sword that was over sized for anyone other than a Skaldi with one hand.

"Agh..apologies, I didnt realize. Indeed, one hundreds Ritz. I fear as though asking too much is a fools decision." Landgrave nodded once, his shoulders shrugging as he speak and his odd quirk of speaking with his hands showing. He waved them about, gesturing around before settling down to set sight on the creature away from him. "A brute..interesting weapon he has equipped on him.." The Rogue had whispered to himself, caressing his own chin as he contemplate the weight handled as well the very size of the Skaldi's weapon and ability to even wield such a weapon.
"My occupation, Lord? I am a man for hire. I shall do any task beseeched upon me, so long as I receive pay. I do, though, prefer equipment over currency. I can pay off this debt, so long as I get what I am requesting."

"I'm not a Lord... Sellsword huh? Well I guess it's no real loss to give you the funds then. You'll either be dead by the end of period or you'll be rich enough to pay me back. Mark me though, if you don't pay me back I'll collect my payment with your blood. One hundred Ritz, at four percent, compounded for four weeks will bring the total amount you'll need to pay me back to four hundred and four ritz by the end of Ausoris twenty eight, two hundred A.T.D. Sign here on both copies."
Kable pushed two pieces of paper out at the young man. All he had to do was sign on the line on both of them and Kable would fork over the hundred gold. If he did so, or made a mark of any kind, Kable would take it as good enough and give one of the papers to the young man whose name he didn't even bother to ask. If the sellsword wasn't able to write his own name he'd ask the question but otherwise the young man would walk away with a coin purse with a hundred gold ritz in it.

Redgar had didn't need to go all the way to Karthford to reach Kable's trade Caravan. They were parked down at the base of Karliger Rock, in Milltown. That was far enough for Duke Karliger anyway. Fourteen miles, most of it downhill to Milltown. Which, surprise surprise, had been mostly gutted by his little war with his family.
He still smiled like an idiot as he walked through the town, totally unarmed and unaware of their strife, despite the fact that his sister basically told him that the people had plenty of reason to hate him.
All he could think about was doing the thing he was tasked to do though, and looking like he was in charge while doing it. He assumed the paper that she had given him was important, and that he would have to be in charge of the situation.
The problem was obvious, he couldn't read it. He didn't spend much time reading. The words troubled him, unlike a sword.
He found the caravan, and approached the most important looking person, Kable, who sat at a desk.
"Good day fine sir. I assume you're Kable. I'm Duke Scyld Redgar Karliger, Duke of this wonderful Duchy you find yourself in here."
Without being invited to sit down, he sat down across from Kable in a wooden chair. He leaned back in it cockily.
"Hey, listen. Between you and me I need a little help fixing up this place. There's a whole lot of stuff that needs to be done, see? And I need your help to do it. Killing my traitor uncles put a real strain on our economy here. You know I'm good for it though, What do you say? I borrow some money, the Duchy will get into better shape, before the treason happened, you'll get paid, and we'll all be better off for it. You financially, me financially, the people financially, everyone wins. I like it when everyone wins. So hey, what do you say, my good man?"
Gods... does he ever shut up?
Note that this post does not happen at the same time as Landgrave's interaction with Kable. Different time, different place.

-Still waiting on Landgrave to sign for his loan.
"Duke Karliger, eh? I guess killing traitors is more expensive than some people let on. I'll extend full credit to you. How much do you need, my lord? I'm fully licensed to loan by the Bank of Sorath up to five hundred ritz. That should be enough to help get your people back to work."
This was interesting. Kable wondered how much Corday or Mardok would pay to know that Karliger was in a row. Selling information never crossed his mind until now. This would be interesting. But... causing trouble for civilians wasn't Kable's cup of tea. Karliger has never done anything nasty to him, so it wasn't like he had any motive to do anything nasty back. It was something he was going to be keeping in his back pocket.

"Five hundred? Yes yes... that should do. Do you dispense that in cash? Where do I sign?"
The Duke found that amount very good. With five hundred gold he figured his sister couldn't screw up putting the Duchy back together. I mean, how much money could it possibly take right? Peasants could live for a year on less than a ritz. Five hundred ritz would feed one of their families for... ever? Probably. Redgar wasn't entirely sure.
Let's face it. He had no concept of how money actually worked.
He didn't even know how this loan was going to work. He figured he'd have to pay Kable back for it, but he didn't know that interest was involved, or that interest was compound. Owing a hell of a lot of money was not something that he thought was possible in this respect but he was ready to sign. He was just waiting for the paperwork.
Speaking of paperwork, he just remembered something.
"Oh, and we're done with this business I need to show you something. Part of the reason why I came down here myself, see?"

"Just a minute, my lord."
Kable said. He put the documents together. Everything had to be in its proper place with the paperwork. The forms had to be filed properly after all. It wouldn't do if it was done any other way. Someone could wiggle out of the contract. When he was done he passed the paperwork over to the duke to sign. He slid the quill and ink pot over.
"Sign on the line, sir, on both copies. One for you and one for the bank, you understand. The money will be dispensed as cash right here and now. What other business do you have to attend to?"
Loan complete once Karliger signs. 500R to his account.

"Great. Listen, I'll need a few things for starters. A shortbow, quiver, and two cuts of arrows. One shortsword, the hard leather armor over there, and the sash of course."Redgar talked whiled he signed the papers with that ever purposeful and daunting 'X' that stood for his signature. Kable signed the lines he was supposed to. It was clear that two different hands did it. The Duke took the scroll that was meant for him and shoved it next to the paper that his sister had given him. They brought the weapons and armor over. He equipped himself like she told him to do before showing the paper to Kable. When he was finished he took the paper his sister had made him sign and given to him and showed it to Kable. "Take a look at this"The Duke stood there smiling like an idiot.
Showed Kable the Karliger Border Control Act of 200ATD. Bought:Shortsword Short Bow Quiver Arrows x 2 Hard Leather Armor Sash Total: 42 gold. Received 500 gold.

Kable's people filled the order haplessly.
Then Kable saw the piece of paper after the Duke was entirely equipped. He read it over and internally fumed. This was insulting. This was stupid. This would kill his business. How the hell was he supposed to get to the other Duchies without the highway? Karliger was going to choke the hell out of his business. He could see it now. All the trade going north out of Morith would need to broker contracts with Karliger to get out of this ludicrous law. The worst part was that the Crown would help the bastards enforce this insane piece of paper.
Kable for a second thought about shredding it, but nothing good would come of that.
And there the Duke was, standing there, smiling like he had won. Kable owed him half the value of the loan, and if he didn't pay him now he could be ruined forever.
"I need to run some numbers."
Kable growled through his teeth. Corday and Mardok were going to find out about this, and maybe even the lady mayor. She had powerful friends now from what he understood. Of course, violence wouldn't do. Another Duchy under the rule of chaos would be terrible. And the crown would uphold this law, it would be no cause to war.
Kable ran the numbers. Being without the writs had cost him 10867.5 Ritz.
His caravan wasn't worth that. But luckily the Corday-Voss agreement could help him out of this bind. Naturally he'd need to send word to Corday about this.
Quickly he penned a letter, and called Naka over.
"Naka. Take Brusk and Trusk and go to Corday please... I forgot about some business that Duke Karliger here has so happily reminded me of."
"Yessss, sir."
The Skaldi left with her companions. They would travel overland much more easily and much more cloaked than any of the carriages. The Skaldi had a way with the wild land.
"Now for this piece of business, Duke Karliger. It seems I forgot about a prior debt. I can't believe I've overlooked such a mistake. I'll forgive the five hundred ritz I just lent you right away. Here, let me tear up that contract for you."
Provided Karliger forked over the contract he'd tear it to shreds, but not the one he was holding on to and had already filed away.
"I need to wait to send a letter to some friends before I can repay you the total amount. Consider that loan I just gave you payment towards my debt."
This clever son of a bitch....
"Is it alright if my caravan and I stay here temporarily? Until I hear back?"
While he talked he penned a letter to Mardok and Lady Lyethe. Duplicates of each other.

"Yeah, sure. Why not? Stay as long as you need to. I'll be heading out now. Listen, if you need anything. Let us know. I appreciate it."
This was great for him. He got the loan for free? Oh happy day. There was something that Kable mentioned about a debt. Perhaps his father had something on the merchant? It didn't matter to him. Five hundred free ritz was good enough. His sister would be overjoyed to hear it. He wondered what all the message running and grim looks were about. All he did was acquire a loan and get some weapons. Was he that threatening?
Of course he was. Who was the Duke kidding? The ease at which his sister manipulated him was terrifying. While Redgar was brutal, ambitious, and power hungry, he was also a hapless fool, and believed everything his sister told him.
Redgar set off with money in hand, weapons and armor equipped, and a grin on his face. He headed northeast out of Milltown, back towards Karliger Rock.

What luck she had to happen upon a trade caravan on her way to Morith, it was a nice distraction from the dullness of the empty road. She needed to conserve her coin at least to a small extent. She needed it to buy the quite expensive materials she needed for her craft. She couldn't stop herself when she saw the cotton though, it would be nice to have some nicer clothes, and if she had any left over she could make some articles to sell.
Doran managed to convince her that she shouldn't be on the road unarmed, that she should at least have a dagger, so she got one of those. She didn't really have a convenient place in her wardrobe for knife so she also purchased a leather sash from Baila. She was tempted by the loan offerings, but after overhearing the terms on the loans, she decided she wanted to keep her soul.
Buying: -Dagger (2gp) -Leather Sash (2gp) -Cotton x5 (5g)
Total: 9gp

The vagrants in Morith were excessive. Each one an eyesore that left her wishing she could gouge out her eyes. To her credit she had not had a mirror during the time one might argue that she was an eyesore so we shall exclude that period from any debates that are to be held. She felt that she would soon have enough coin that the measly amount she would spend on the cotton would be insignificant in the long run, and it would help Morith to be more aesthetic, with the vagrants looking all snazzy and such.
She also needed a supply to make herself some clothing suitable for adventuring. While her outfit now was quite suitable, it was not going to stop anything from harming her. It also wouldn't hold a magical charge, something else she would have to fix, but another time, another place. She purchased either fifty bolts of cotton, or as many as they could offer up to fifty bolts. She also purchased two shortswords, she had something in mind and needed the medium to experiment on.
Cotton (up to 50) 50g or less Shortswords x2 20g
Total: 70ish g
