"Exactly the opposite of what I was thinking then. I thought a party meant a celebration of some kind. How confusing. Have you ever been a part of such a thing?"
Fyrra was hoping the man would deny every having been part of such a thing as a raiding party. The violence seemed pointless. Weren't they all Darthaki? That alone should have united them. Much like how the Drokagr didn't mobilize against themselves. The cities left each other alone for the most part. The only actions they took against each other were economic or political. Korasus refused to pay any sort of tribute. Though its chief export to the other Drokagr cities was food. The differences between her kind and his were stark.
Merrake saw the skeleton in front of her and came back towards the others. She was obviously disturbed and confused. She tried her best to word what she needed to say in Cruic. As perhaps the Kalimbra wouldn't know what to do about it on her own.
"There's a thing in the room down the passage. A dead person just standing there of its own accord. Sort of swaying back and forth a bit, but there's no breeze. It's not hanging from anything either, so I'm not sure what to make of it. That's not normal is it?"
"I would say not, I've never seen such a thing myself. Probably something made by magic to scare us off? What do you think?"
The Kalimbra looked to Thrawn, as if he had the answers.

1st Hallway
With the light now available, only part of the angled hallway that attached to the straight one they occupied was visible. This next part of the hallway seemed to be sloped as well, and would lead them deeper into the catacombs. The light would stop being of any help just before the open threshold to another room.

Despite himself Thrawn chuckles; he did not want to make the Kalimbra feel bad for not knowing about the raiding parties. However he was starting to see the difference between Drogkagr society and his own.
"Only the ones where we drove off monsters, you do not want a nest of Harpies near you home, they don't play nice."
Before he could regale her with the story of how one time he tried to tame a gryphon during a raiding party, Merrake came back and reported what she saw. The confusion that the two women were displaying and Merrake's uneasiness caught Thrawn off guard.
"Sounds like a zombie or a skeleton. Not surprising considering how many bodies have been buried here, but who would use necromancy to reanimate a corpse down here?" The question was more for himself than the two women, he stroked his beard in thought.
Thrawn had limited knowledge of magic, especially necromancy, but as far as he knew that was the only way to reanimate a corpse.
"Either way, we have to kill it, again. If there is a brazier there I suggest we go in with me bringing up the rear, if not then we draw it out here." Thrawn rested his axe on his shoulder, now that he knew what he was up against he was more confident with going into the darkness.

Merrake stood there with her mouth open. She couldn't believe what she was hearing. A skeleton or zombie. Necromancy. She understood whatever was down there was evil from the last word there. Necromancy. Bringing the dead back to life was wrong. Absolutely wrong. The bodies of the dead should return to the earth around them. She pulled her weapon, stepping forward.
"I understand it needs to be destroyed."
"I don't think I understand what it is. A skeleton, a moving skeleton. That's ludicrous. Necromancy is understood to be bad. No one practices it. Much more trouble than it's worth. So what, are we going down there?"
She knew the answer to the question. She did not want to hear it. She did not like the idea of mingling with the undead. She did not like the idea of coming across a necromancer. That was bad news.
Merrake started down the passage and Fyrra followed after. When she came around the corner she saw the creature as Merrake had. It was surprising to her. Her mouth was left open like Merrake's had been. If Thrawn had followed behind them she'd point at where it was before attempting to light the brazier near her.

The Second Room20x15 meters Light Level: Total Darkness Room Contents: 1 Lit Brazier (80% Fuel Remaining) 1 Skeleton
Once the brazier was lit the skeleton snapped to, it looked around and found them. For a second there it looked like it wouldn't do anything. Then maybe it remembered the rusty weapon in its hand. It looked down at it, then at them, then back at it. Then it started to move towards them, brandishing its weapon, as if it were to attack.
Combat begins this round.

Thrawn followed into the dark, giving Fyrra enough space so not to accidentally run into her. All the while his axe and shield were raised, he was ready to fight. Once the room was lit, Thrawn saw the skeleton and it was clear that it registered them as a threat or a target. Folloing a quick glance around the room Thrawn saw no signs of other monsters or traps, then his instincts kicked in the moment he saw the it brandishing a weapon.
"Move!" He yelled and gave them a brief moment to clear the area in front of him before charging at the creature while roaring.
As he charged Thrawn had his weapon hand up over his head ready to strike, however When he got close enough to Thrawn would swing his left forearm at the monster's chest slamming it with his shield, he hoped that the impact would stun or disorientate the skeleton. Then Thrawn would follow that up by bringing his axe down on the left side of the monster's spine, hoping that of he did enough damage he might be able to sever the head, which theorized would end the creature.

Thrawn had cut in front of them both to get to the skeleton. That was fine with Fyrra. For Merrake, however, that was quite the change. She had never seen a man on her side that would just run right into battle. First it was foolhardy, second, in her experience men were cowards. But that was Drokagr men. Human men had been different. They were more... more like animals? That was how she felt about them. Though some were obviously different than others. Some humans were better than others. Some were just as bad as monsters. Others were noble. Thrawn was more along the lines of a noble person, than an animal. "Thrawn, we don't know what it's capable of!""If it pushes him back, I'll breathe fire on it.""Ok, I'll try to cover you."Merrake then moved with Fyrra, towards the creature's left. The two of them moved as a pair. Fyrra on the inside between Thrawn and Merrake. They also backed up as they moved, giving themselves plenty of distance from the skeleton. Merrake knocked her bow with an arrow and aimed at the skeleton's head, then fired. Then she repeated her actions just in case it wasn't destroyed. Fyrra prepared to breathe fire on it, just in case it pushed Thrawn back.

Things were going well at first. Merrake got what would normally be a killing blow on a person with the first arrow she got off. It flew into the monster's skull, cracking bone and going through whatever occupied the space between cranial walls. Its head whipped around like a victim in a horse and buggy collision. Her second shot missed, however. The arrow slammed into the stone wall on the opposite side of the room, obliterating itself on contact. Fyrra and Merrake had managed to get around the undead without being harassed. Thrawn however had gathered its attention by shouting and attacking it directly. His first attack, attempting slam into it with his shield, missed by a mere inch. He hadn't gone far enough. When he attacked it with his axe, he managed to land a strong blow on the vertebrae. However, it had no arteries or veins, or windpipe that would make a blow such as that fatal. It was animated purely by magic. One would expect this horrible assault would leave the skeleton destroyed. It however, retaliated immediately by putting its rusty blade into Thrawns chest. It's second jab missed, but it's third scraped along the barbarian's upper arm. Blood would splatter the ground. The Barbarian would die if he didn't get help. Skeleton-HP: 3/300 Brazier: 66%

"Thrawn!" "Save him! Ignarata Za'fou!"Merrake saw Thrawn get stabbed. At the first syllable of Fyrra's second sentence she knew what she was about to do. They also had talked about it a few seconds before. Merrake went to Thrawn's side having snatched the two potions from Fyrra's sarong. At the same time accidentally pantsing the woman by pulling the knot out. As the sash hit the floor, leaving Fyrra bare below the waist, a cone of flame flew out of her mouth at the Skeleton. Once the cone of flames was out, she plucked up the sarong and moved over to Thrawn. Once she was there, she passed healing energy through her arm to him, hoping to both stop the bleeding and heal his wounds. "I feel a breeze... oh damnation."She tied the sarong back around her waist. Then readjusted her body armor. She didn't like the way the leather felt. Silk was so much nicer.

Well, shit.
After being stabbed multiple times and bleeding out for a bit Thrawn had some trouble standing up. One knee gave way and found himself barely able to keep his shield up. The best he could do was try not to die before the others dealt with the skeleton.
But before the he could bleed out Merrake was by his side with potions, without hesitation he gulped them down. Thrawn barely noticed that Fyrra had temporally been naked from the waist down. But as usual it was hard not to notice the kalimbra when she was in a state of undress.
If the skeleton somehow survived being torched Thrawn would get back up and try to swing at the thing's head with his axe and try to put it down for good.
If the skeleton was taken care of he would let himself fall backwards on the floor.
"That could have gone better, I mean I don't mind being saved by two beautiful women, but that could have gone better."
Thrawn would then sit up and drink one of his own healing potions.

As Merrake moved to help Thrawn, the Kalimbra breathed a cone of fire onto the skeleton. It was nearly incinerated. The charred bones fell onto the floor in a pile. The room got hotter immediately. With the fire on the ground, it was bright in the room again. There were only a few things able to be salvaged from the destroyed monster. Some gold, and a bone. "I think you did it on purpose."
Merrake teased, helping him up.
"Yes, the two of you conspired to get my sarong off so you both could get a free glance. My profession is paid, might I remind you. Noble, and honorable. I am an artist. Now, did it leave anything of value?"
"Some gold. One of the bones is still intact. The thigh bone."
Merrake didn't take the bait.
Fyrra made a dismissive sound. She had no interest in any of the things mentioned. The gold wasn't enough for her to be too interested. She looked around the room, fanned herself at the same time. She had made the room very hot with the flames she created. She could get used to the heat. She could get used to burning a monster to death. It was satisfying. The fire consumed things in a natural manner.
Merrake knocked another arrow from her quiver, and prepared to take point. She needed to go first anyway. It was probably dark otherwise.

"It was all Merrake's idea, she was right getting stabbed was totally worth it."
With Merrake's help he got back up to his feet, his body still ached despite all the healing, he took out his last health potion and drank it as well, he would rather run out now than be too injured too anything in their next fight.
Looking at their spoils Thrawn picked up the coins and the bone, he offered the coins to Fyrra.
"Here, for the show."
If she refused the coins he would keep them, and as long as no one objected he would keep the bone as well, he was hoping to try something with it after they got out of there.
As he waited to move forward, it would seem clear that Thrawn did not enjoy how hot the room had gotten. He would begin sweating quickly.

Fyrra looked at the coins, and then winked at Thrawn. She plucked them from his hand, and tucked them away.
"I'll consider it a first payment, you're a few thousand short."
She laughed and gestured for Merrake to move forward. She sashayed behind her.
Merrake did so, heading towards the threshold on the south end of the room to scout it out. She would be able to see in the darkness. The blaze behind her did not make it any harder or easier. Though the heat was making her begin to sweat. Fyrra would follow close behind her. She had seen the effectiveness of her charge's Fire Breath. Thrawn was good at creating a distraction. Merrake's opinion of the man was increasing with time.
"What will you do with the bone?"
"Shh."
Fyrra puffed up, unhappy to be shushed. She complied however.

Eager to leave the burning room Thrawn followed close behind the two women. He really couldn't stand the heat.
Thinking about their encounter with the Skeleton, Thrawn started to berate himself, he rushed in before his allies could get into position, without knowing how strong the monster was, without even much of a plan other than hit it really hard. While that was basically it for basic Darthaki tactics, he thought he was better than that. He quietly resolved to do better next time. Besides, Fyrra and Merrake won't be able to save him every time.
The Darthaki was so lost in thought he barely heard what Fyrra was asking him. He opened his mouth to start answering before Merrake started shushhing, he stayed quite until he got the all clear from here.
