The Kalimbra and her Bodyguard would soon reach the edge of where the Militia was fighting the 85th Battalion. Fyrra did not believe she would be subjected to a rain of arrows like she had been the last time. These militia were fighting infantry about a block from where she was, in the streets. There wasn't the wall of Morith to use to gain the height advantage. There were buildings, but no one had seemed to go into those really and fight inside them. She was glad for that. It meant the fighting hadn't become truly desperate as far as she knew. But she wasn't an expert, and being this close to a clash like this was terrifying.
"Perhaps... this was a mistake. Let us do what we can. From over here."
"I agree with that, Kalimbra. I cannot fight an entire company for you. I will die before I get the chance to defend you."
The Kalimbra nodded, and set about doing her magic. Inflict the most damage upon the enemy as possible. That was the core concept she was trying to follow. She lowered her profile by getting on her knees by an alleyway. It served two purposes, those fighting in the streets wouldn't readily see someone on the ground as they were more concerned with those standing and fighting them, and she would be more able to spot the corpses that were littering the ground. The fuel for her magic.
She picked out a dead infantry man that was among his comrades, and caused the body to explode with a spell. Flame and bone and flesh showered the area around the body.
Merrake took cover nearby with her bow ready. She couldn't pick and shoot at targets through the militia. She would save her arrows for those infantry that broke through.

So it had been Jorkahn, the armoured figure that had caused a whole mess of enemy troops to flee single handedly, how he'd managed it was beyond the young lord. He wasn't one to complain about things going his way however, as he now found himself removed from any immediate fighting and able to assess the situation, the fighting was in no way done but one section now was at least clear as all the troops were fleeing from Jorkahn. The armour had made him look rather intimidating, that and the great axe that he held, he was a warrior of some strength it seemed, even more so than he'd displayed before.
Kell placed his hammer head down on the floor and leaned his arm on it, for now he had a few moments to rest and recover from the fighting, while he'd taken no real damage he had a few bruises and the general fatigue from swinging around a hammer as much as he had. The heat was oppressive also and he could feel himself sweating inside the armour, now that the adrenaline had worn off he was feeling all of the little aches and pains as well as the buckets of sweat pouring off of him inside the armour, before long it was likely to become some sort of small lake gathered in there. Reaching down to his belt Kell grabbed a waterskin and took several large gulps from it, the moderately cool water helping a little bit towards restoring him to an adequate state, it wasn't much but it was definitely far better than nothing at all.
Once he'd taken a few more sips from the waterskin he figured he'd been here long enough, he had no desire to be surrounded once again and so decided that the best idea would be to keep moving. It seemed that to the East there was still a large fight going on, with SKC troops attempting to push through the southern gate and the militia heading them off, and so that was where he'd head. He had no desire to kill more men now that he'd felt it once, but this is a war, and if he didn't fight how else was he to defend the lands.
Kell MP: 250/320 +15
Action 1. Drink from waterskin 2. Head towards the southern gate

Rithaleya's successful slaying of one of the attacking soldiers barely registered with her, as alarmed as she was by being hit from behind. She turned and kept swinging both of her weapons in tandem, her technique only barely upgraded from using the sword and the axe as if she were wielding clubs to something more appropriate to wielding a pair of machetes, giving the their spears about as much regard as she'd give to entangling vines. Although she didn't know how to fight, the soldiers, so far, hadn't learned how to fight her, specifically, either. It was the two behind her that had to deal with her first two swings. She confronted the third to her side with an almost accidental tip slash.
(Two more attacks on one soldier each, and a 'Scorpion Sting' attack on the third soldier.)

As the mage fell, Tyr roared out a mostly unintelligible Sissak shout. It bordered somewhere along the lines of 'Cheese!' and 'Everyone!', but the voice portion was mashed together and there were no accompanying hand or face gestures. The point was mainly to draw on his newly developed vocal abilities to scare the life and morale out of the enemy battalion, hoping they would run for the far off hills and leave this battle behind. Kilinger took the opportunity to catch back up to his cousin, careful to watch for any sneaky troops that might take a pot shot or two during the potential scattering.

Allyria managed to lander her Star cannon directly on the flying shade. It took the hit rolling back into the sky for a short distance, then came at her with renewed vigor. It's first claw swipe missed her completely, her precognitive abilities enabling her to dodge the attack. The second slash passed through her guard and slashed her across the face, creating a rapidly bleeding wound and damaging her senses. Her counterattack went wide and missed the creature. With only two enemies left, and both in front of her, Rithaleya finally started attempting to parry their strikes and counterattack while she moved to keep them from encircling her. They hadn't gotten through her armour so far, but that didn't mean she was willing to take chances after the strikes she'd received when they first surrounded her. Those who'd already fallen, she only thought of as hazards to avoid tripping on or being blinded by blood from. The two soldiers in front of her kept her from thinking about them, or even her strategy, in any more depth.
She put the axe forward, at first, but when she chopped with it after the first spear thrust, she couldn't get it back in line, and put herself behind her sword. With the second spear thrust, her sword avoided it, and she charged forward to thrust with her shorter weapon, not having the skills to execute a lunge. As she brought up her axe again, she noticed the other spearman would move behind her if she pressed the assault, and turned on him to strike raggedly with both weapons, overhead in parallel.
That left the first soldier behind her. All this fight (and dehydration) was giving her a headache!

Allyria screamed and growled as the creature raked its claws across her face and mask, cutting the flesh underneath to ribbons. A torrent of blood began streaming from her facial wounds. Her first counter-attack with the scythe was too wide a swing and the blade missed her foe. Its reach was long and it had the height advantage due to its flight. She attempted to blast it with her Glass Shot spell, to riddle it with holes from the crystal shard before it could get off the two swipes with its claws it was attempting to follow up with. She was hopefully close enough to hit the monster with all ten shards that would fire from such a blast.
Then as if by instinct guided by her precognition she would be looking for those claw slashes to dodge and block, and to once again counter with a slash of her own. She would attempt to aim her third counter-attack, the second being the spell, at the creature's head.

"Kalimbra... such devastation."
"Wrought upon this city, by them."
Merrake did not have much to say to that. Nothing that would end well in the long run. In truth she was commenting on the Kalimbra's use of force. It was unbecoming of the artist's gentle nature. Or at least what Merrake thought was a gentle nature. Perhaps the war and the times had changed her charge for the worst. Perhaps things had gotten that bad. The bodyguard didn't want to believe things were so bad as to change Fyrra so quickly. But then the Kalimbra used the spell again, and more fire and bloody and bone exploded into a crowd of people, enemies, but people, that were trying to reoccupy space and help the comrades. They were confused, they didn't know what was hitting them. It could have been artillery. It could have been spells from some mage in a tower like before.
It wasn't.
It was a young woman whose normal course in life would have been one of charity and art if this madman, Palejaw, had caused everything to go so sideways. Merrake did not feel needed. They were in no danger at the moment. She wondered about her role in all of this. Killing someone that was attacking you directly, that was easy. And no doubt these men and women that the Kalimbra was destroying with her forbidden spells would murder them both as soon as they were able. But she was not comfortable with the magic. She was no comfortable with any of it. It felt so wrong.

It was impossible for him to move at any sort of amazing pace in his full armour with all of the gear he was carrying around with him, it was taking him longer than he'd anticipated for him to get to the battle he could see taking place around the southern gates. The line of militia hemming in the enemy battalions was within sight, he couldn't see through them but knew the enemy was on the other side.
For now it was just running, or rather a brisk jog, he needed enough wind in him so that when he got there he could still stand long enough to help them fight off the SKC forces, it was a precarious balance between getting there quickly and with enough puff in him to help when he got there. He could at least help to even the odds for the militia around the southern gate, or just pull some of their strength onto himself rather than another member of the militia, his armour so far had stood up to the standard weapons of the enemy so he only had to worry if they brought in anything more special against him.
Actions 1. Continue moving towards southern gate fighting

Tyr watched the enemy flee before him like so many ants, reveling in the brief glory of his victory. The killing wasn't something he was particularly keen on, but that fight was more excitement than he'd had in a long while. He tried to ignore the burning corpse at his feet, taking a few steps to the side to avoid being caught by the growing flames, and inspect what he could see of the city. It wasn't much at the moment, retreating soldiers crowded the majority of his view. He could see some of the militiamen beyond the gate, and the tower past that, but very little by way of tactical information. Right now his path was simple and short: Get inside the city. From there he could figure out a more advantageous course of action.
"Indeed. We'll make our way to the tower, link up with whoever's leading the militia, and move out from there." His words were almost hollow, the voice of someone speaking a passing thought while lost in the rest of the train. "Might see if we can get something to drink somewhere..."
Kilinger approached with his lord's bow in hand, nodding in agreement to the plan. There wasn't much for him to contribute here, all he could do was try and keep Mina safe. He would be aiming to keep the Duke safe, but honestly if something was a threat to him Kilinger wouldn't have much of an effect on it. There was a pretty clear disparity between the two men, and he wasn't afraid to admit he was on the weaker end of it.
Combat over. Tyr: SM: 1525/1620. Kilinger: SM 47/106 Waiting for troops to pass, then walking towards the tower without engaging enemies.

"Let's go." And with that they were off in a north westerly direction towards Rithaleya, not that he knew she would be there.·

Redgar was a mite disturbed with himself. He had failed to even land a single hit in the last few moments, only Baalrung, his dire wolf, had made any headway against the enemy. He both praised the dog, and lamented its success in the same sentence.
"Baalrung, don't keep all the glory for yourself!"
He would lunge three separate times with his halberd while directing the beast with his legs. Looking to score hits on the remaining foes. Despite his complete failure in the last few moments, he looked forward to spilling his enemy's lifeblood in the next.

King Redgar Karligar -Encountered enemies: 76th Battalion-5 Infantry (5 dead) As Redgar cut down the last man fighting, more enemy troops filled in the space. These men looked nervous though. The pile of bodies around Redgar and Baalrung told them a troubling tale. He and the dire wolf had cut them all down. These fresh troops weren't fresh either, they had been fighting militia. Battlehardened, but tired. Their armor had cracks and blood on it. They had fought hard to get this far, yet they encountered a champion. Woe began to spread. Jorkahn Wealddir -Encountered Enemies: 70th BattalionJorkahn encountered no enemies. Though he did find where Rithaleya was fighting just as she cut down one of her opponents. From horseback, he could reach her in mere moments. The shade had gotten too close to Allyria. It got blasted with the glass shot. Six shards ripped through its body leaving a bleeding heap on the top of the tower. Slowly its form began to dissipate into the smoke that filled the air surrounding the city. She could call herself the Shadeslayer, despite the fact that there were no witnesses to the fact.
Flying Shade -Str: 80 Vit: 111 Agi: 70 En: 46 P: 37 HP: -40.5/2220 -1,766.75 Stm: 1770/1776 MP: 630.2 Fyrra Na'Limndra -Encountered Enemies: 85th Battalion-9 Killed, 11 wounded. More dead, more wounded, more terror. More of this, and their spirits would break. It was obvious on their faces. Command elements of the battalion began to organize a support effort. Tyr (0) -Encountered Enemies: NoneAs Tyr and his company passed through the gates, militia fell into the gap and recaptured the gatehouse. Soon the shattered doors were being barricaded the best they could be. With furniture and debris. Toil and sweat. Now that the western gate was secure, those that had been fighting and dying there were getting the reprieve they so rightfully deserved.
@namaphry -Encountered Enemies: 70th Battalion -1 Infantry (4 dead) Her foes had become distracted by her maneuver. The one that was in front of her raised his spear to block her sword attack, and while he did this his comrade circled around, reading her movement, and attacked from behind. As she brought her axe down he let out a surprised yelp as it chopped through his helmet, splitting his head open like a dragonfruit. The spearman that she hadn't managed to kill backed up and jabbed his weapon at her sword to fend it off, scoring a hit on her armored hand, drawing little blood. It was but a scratch. 1D100 => 10 HIT!! 1D15 => 11 (Hand) DMG: 22 -15= 7 Kell Lo'TharanEncountered Enemies: 77th BattalionKell encountered no enemies. There were elements of the 77th battalion fighting militia to his southeast. He could lend his aid there, or turn in another direction. Attachment Deleted
