King Redgar Karligar (2 Kills) -Encountered enemies: 76th Battalion5 Infantry Baalrung killed one man, ripping him to shreds with his teeth and claws. Redgar's halberd managed to find a gap in another infantry man's armor easily. However, the infantry couldn't get a spear at Baalrung or Redgar, as the lord sat atop his mount and as it dodged attacks, he dodged attacks. The creature moved too fast for them to be able to score a good hit on it. Soon the remaining infantry man received reinforcements, as four more infantry surrounded Redgar and his mount. The militia on either side of the Duke fought hard to keep the SKC infantry contained. Jorkahn Wealddir (3 kills) -Encountered Enemies: 87th Battalion5 Infantry Jorkahn had chopped through his enemies with what appeared to be ease. Before the other two infantry could react, three of their comrades were down, dead from his axe blows. Their heads or necks cracked open with the heavy blade of his two handed weapon. Already the cobblestones were stained red, and the coppery flavor filled the air. Though he was soon surrounded, and indeed, elements of the 87th moved to surround him fully as more of the battalion poured into the city unchallenged, only one of the infantry that filled their fallen comrade's positions managed to score any hits on him. (1D100 => 60 HIT!! 1D15 => 4 Shoulder, Dmg: 22) Allyria Allenmorde (10 kills) -Encountered Enemies: 80th Battalion10 Infantry Allyria's arcane rain had killed every enemy man that had stepped into its path. The first bolts were enough to send them down to the ground, and subsequent bolts would ruin them further, though they were already dead. It was the nature of the spell to continue to pummel over and over again, until the enemy was destroyed. It would not be long before more hapless infantry filed into her range, looking to stab her in the gut with their spears, raise her high, and claim they've attained revenge for their fallen comrades. Alas, none would manage to score a single hit. Fyrra Na'Limndra (1 wounded, 1 kill) -Encountered Enemies: 81st battalion4 Archers 1 wounded archer 1 medic Fyrra had shattered the lower ribs of one of the archers taking aim at herself and Merrake, sending the shards all throughout his abdomen. He fell over, and began to choke up blood as his stomach filled up with the stuff. Merrake's shots had been less than effective, as only one arrow managed to score a hit. Though that arrow found a way through a footman's faceplate, killing him instantly. The cover Merrake had taken up a position behind suffered from two hits. The cover Fyrra was hiding behind suffered only one hit. The fourth arrow that had been launched at them by the archers they hadn't managed to down and their reinforcements were all spent. Those enemies prepared to reload and give covering fire to the medic that had come onto the field to help the wounded archer. -Cover status: Fyrra: 4 Hits remaining Merrake: 3 Hits remaining Tyr (3 kills) -Encountered Enemies: 72nd battalionTyr's arrows had managed to kill three enemies from behind. Soon orders were shouted out for that company to turn heel and charged at their attackers. It would not be long before they were close enough for melee combat.

The pressure was on. More and more arrows came flying at them. Their cover took several hits and were beginning to look like a cutting board. Both women stayed in cover. Fyrra picked her head up enough to look over the boards that were protecting her. Many enemies were crowding around the man who's bone she shattered. More archers had come on the scene. They were seconds from being riddled with arrows. They were seconds from doom.
"Azuloth, forgive me."
Fyrra reached out with the power and took hold of the corpse near the other archers. She concentrated her energy in it until it nearly bursting with power. Then she changed the state to fire and death, and the energy exploded outwards from the body, covering a nine by nine area in flames, burning bits of flesh, bone, and equipment.
"My god... what have you done?"
"Hopefully saved us."

Three soldiers fell to his arrows and the rest of the contingent turned to face him. Good, let them come. They would crash against him like a wave and find him standing tall after their assault. If he could distract enough of them the militia would gain the advantage of numbers and focus. With one gate secured they could be repurposed elsewhere and this whole battle could be salvaged. Tyr loosed another trio of arrows at the charging company, aiming to take down as many as he could before they engaged in melee combat.

Only one measly poke from a spear made contact with his body. The rest were either too terrified to attack, had missed entirely, or he had struck down with his now bloodied axe. With a swift sweep, his eyes picked up scores of soldiers running passed him to get further into the city. In an attempt to keep them in his general area, and to give his allies as much time as possible, he yelled at them at the top of his lungs.
"What?! You motherless cowards can't handle one simple elf? Come! Prove you aren't the inferior race or your family and friends will die!" Whether or not he got their attention the half-breed had an idea. He took a stance with a lower center of gravity and swung his weapon twice in a wide arc on either side of him. This was an attempt to hit multiple enemies at once, though he was admittedly not well practiced with this technique.
Though Jorkahn had come to terms with the fact he would likely be fending for himself for the majority of this fight, he hoped for some competent backup to come along. Otherwise, he may not live to see the city saved.

Allyria was getting fed up with this endless wave of enemies non-sense. And she needed to secure hydration before things got out of hand. She maintained the channeling on the Arcane rain in the area she was occupying and kept an eye on her enemies while she brought out her silver flute. She brought the mouthpiece up to where her lips would be under her mask and blew into it, using her fingers to play a tune. It was in that dissonant space between cheerful and mournful. Sad, yet smiling. With the end of the last note she'd be gone, having teleported away four blocks to the southwest, heading towards the tower.

Redgar had managed to slay a few foes on his own. Baalrung had managed to taste the blood of his master's enemies. As more enemy infantry surrounded the duke, the beast went into a frenzy of dodging. As the dark wolf moved, so did his rider. The Duke's halberd swept in wide arcs to hit multiple infantry once, twice, and then a vicious stab towards the nearest man still standing. He was laughing all the while, enjoying the battle in all of its horror and glory.
Why, some would say the Governor of Morith would go so far as to slay the wounded in the battle. Finishing off men that would otherwise die on their own or leave with full lives ahead of them, never to harm a soul again.
He didn't care about any of that.
He wanted his glory. He would take it by point of blade.

Katrina Karligar remained detained within Morith's tower, watching the battle unfold from her brother's stateroom. She was utterly useless in a situation like this. The man that was the actual Duke of Karligar was bred and trained for battle. She was a statesperson. She ran the city and the duchy. Pouring money and resources this way and that. Acquiring power. That is what she was good at. This battle? This battle was spending that power. It was a gamble. All she could think about was how utterly stupid Redgar was for starting it.
While Tyr and Kilinger would be in the front, fighting, Mina remained several meters behind them on her wolf Cardag. The beast was massive, about the size of a horse, and it would protect her during this battle with complete devotion. She on the other hand was calculating. Of course she was enjoying the aesthetic of the battle, but if Redgar and Katrina were both here, then it was likely they were already engaged with the enemy in one fashion or the other. Redgar likely on the front lines. Katrina was likely doing something entirely useless at the time.
"My cousin is probably fighting in the city. It looks like that entire battalion is heading this way."
She did not sound frightened. She was merely stating facts.

King Redgar Karligar (2 Kills) -Encountered enemies: 76th Battalion5 Infantry Redgar had managed to kill two enemy infantry before others took their place with his halberd. The three infnatry that had been there attempted to unseat him from Baalrung, but they missed. The wolf was too fast and too wary of their spears. The militia fought hard to keep the other enemy companies from closing in on their governor. Despite their efforts, more of them died in the defense of the city than they could kill. Jorkahn Wealddir (5 Kills) -Encountered Enemies: 87th Battalion5 Infantry Jorkahn's petty attempt at intimidation was met with laughter. That is before he cleaved the heads from five men in two axe swipes. That only served to rile up the SKC troops that had him fatally surrounded. Five more infantry closed on him and they were dogged in their approach, attacking swiftly and without pause, from all sides, trying to get through his armor to kill the man that dared insult and kill their brethren. Allyria Allenmorde (10 kills) -Encountered Enemies: None.Scarlet had disappeared before the enemy infantry could get to her. Instead of retreating, they lingered. This was their downfall, as they walked into the arcane rain they found that it would be their demise. The bolts crashed into them from above, killing them all indiscriminately. Their bodies piled up like the previous squad's, not an ounce of life left in them. Fyrra Na'Limndra (9 kills) -Encountered Enemies: 81st battalion5 Archers An explosion rocked the parapet from where the archers were firing. Bodies flew off the defensive structure, on fire and riddled with shrapnel from the corpse that exploded. Bone shards had killed several people alone. Others burned to death or were ripped apart by the force of the explosion. A small crater in the wall remained, smoking, where the spell had been conjured. Several more archers took up firing positions near the crater, and made preparations to fire on the two half-breeds in cover. -Cover status: Fyrra: 4 Hits remaining Merrake: 3 Hits remaining Tyr (3 kills) -Encountered Enemies: 72nd battalion5 Infantry Tyr's arrows had managed to kill three enemies as they were closing the gap between the duke and his entourage, and themselves. After he had finished firing, the troops were right on top of him. Three of them peeled off of the company and attempted to surround the Duke, trying to separate him from his companions. One moved on Mina, and another on Kilinger. All had spears at the ready.

Rithaleya hadn't exactly lived a peaceful life up to this point, but the scale of the conflict in Morith exceeded any she had ever seen or even heard about second-hand before. (Not counting old elves talking about things that'd happened before she was born. If she counted that, then she'd have heard stories about everything, most of them contradictory.) Her hardheadedness, as usual, saved her from feeling the full weight of the situation, at least at first. She felt well-prepared, at least as well as she could be (without having her own army), and being on horseback meant she wasn't worried about getting caught by the invaders, yet.
There was a minor issue that she hadn't signed any contract for her services, but the defenders were calling for aid. She was clearly an armoured adventurer, and she figured they wouldn't be very friendly if she didn't participate, so she could always hope they'd still be grateful at the end. "Alright, alright... I'll just go... soften them up, to the northwest. That'll be a good start, yeah?"
...Inspire? HLpfYC3b
She let out her own call as she left the tower from the east and swung around to intercept the incoming SKC companies. "If you've got a mount, join the party! Let's start the skirmish and see how well they fight with an arrow in 'em." Presumably, she was usurping someone's authority, here, but until she found out who that was, it didn't seem like something to bother about.
Charisma+Leadership: 15
Doing this alone or with a small group made it hard to break through a formation, aiming for stragglers was easier. Still, she was far from worried about running out of arrows, and any delay or distraction she could give to the incoming battalion would spare the defenders more time and attention for... whatever it was they were doing. Deeper plans could wait until the situation evolved.
Tactics: 12
(Combat actions: Strafing the scattered portion of the SKC 70th battalion that's approaching the central keep.) ··

Allyria had a place to be. This was going too slow for her tastes. Yes, she could lure squad after squad into the arcane rain. Yes she could kill them all that way. But that was no way to win a battle. She had to demonstrate violence on a scale they had never seen before. Violence that could only be perpetrated by a well trained and extremely powerful sorceress. Violence that would make the Sovereign Kingdom of Cruinthe's infantry piss in their pants. She planned to use indiscriminate violence on them.
If only the fucking flute would cooperate. The first time she had used it, it took her exactly where she wanted to go. As she rematerialized four blocks to the southwest she continued the tune. It took her another four blocks, then another. Then the third time she tried it, she went nowhere. Odd, perhaps there was something in the way? Yet the next time she played the flute it dropped her a few meters above the top of the tower. She'd land there safely and put her flute away.

Tyr dropped his bow and ran. It wasn't like he'd need it for a little while, and if someone managed to pick it up as loot he could just make another. What he needed to do was close with the biggest group possible before they scattered in front of him. He completed ignored the three men that tried to close on him, trusting in the strength of his armor to deflect any attack they might throw his way.
Running at the grouped up company before they can scatter. Hard (-15) + Agi (100) + Running I (5) = Threshold 90 UCxxjGpu 26, success.
While his footing stayed true, and his dash closed the distance with his opponents, sheer speed alone wasn't going to win this battle. For that he would need to apply some serious strength as well. As he came almost to within punching distance of a soldier Tyr would take one last long step, ball his hands into fists and hold them together above his head, then slam them into the ground. A normal person doing such a thing would look quite silly. Tyr performing such an act? The ground moved, almost rippling out. A shockwave blasted forth from the impact site, slamming into anyone and everyone within seven and a half meters. Those closest would be sent flying a solid 15, likely being thrown into other soldiers for even more chaos. The damage would be incredible, and the sight of such a thing likely to strike fear into more than one soldier's heart. But the, that's what he was counting on. The Duke finished up with a phrase he had planned out in Sissak. It was all too likely no one would know what he actually said, but it pulled a roar from deep within that would echo off the city walls. The roar carried the weight of his earthshaking strength, and all the force of his personality in one. If anything was going to finish terrifying this company, and possibly anyone in the battalion that had been watching, that would be it. What did he say? *Hi, I'm Tyr*

Kilinger wasn't quite as cocky as his younger cousin, and preferred to face down his current opponent rather than go charging into a massive fray. The single soldier that came at him would find the Myrmidon ready and waiting, sword and shield up. Kilinger would let the Sovereign dog make the first move, ready to smash aside an incoming weapon with his shield and stab for the heart with his own blade. It would be a quick kill if it struck true, and he would reset to a neutral stance to prepare for whatever else came his way.

The Champion's attempt at intimidating with words had failed. "Fine." The half-breed would just have to show them how much he should be feared. At this point, the troops streaming passed him couldn't be helped. Heads fell to the floor with a wet crash and chests were split wide open. The Ritgr found himself smiling, his new technique had been more effective than he thought it would. Sure, the move left the warrior slightly off balance, but it was good practice and the pros outweighed the cons.
Jorkahn spun around, reaching out with his two-handed weapon of destruction to cleave multiple enemies in half just as he had done a few moments before. "Come, humans! Show me your patriotism!" His crassness surprised even him. The battle was slowly changing his personality as it always did. Another swing around in the opposite direction to catch whichever soldiers remained around him. The young warrior would finish this off with a defensive stance, ready to block or dodge any attacks sent his way.

"Crap! Get your head down!"
"Merrake!"
"We can't stay here much longer!"
"Let's get out of here!"
So much for helping the resistance. Fyrra and Merrake took cover as the enemy rained arrows down upon them. So far they had remained unhurt. But luck wouldn't be on their side forever. Best to not test that. The decision was made, and as soon as enough of the enemy were reloading, Merrake stood and grabbed Fyrra by the wrist, pulling her along towards the south, away from the enemy. She would make the first turn she could to get out of their line of sight. As soon as they had broken away from their enemies they found a spot to rest. They had no food or drink, and it was unbearably hot out. They would soon need to replenish, or they would start to dehydrate.
"We should head towards the tower. They probably have supplies there."
"Good idea."

Redgar continued to fight the enemy infantry from atop his mount, Baalrung. With the motion of the Duke's feet against the dire wolf's side, the creature received the go ahead to not only protect him by dodging, but also attacking when opportune. It wouldn't be long before the creature had half of a man in his mouth, shaking the body around to snap the bones and make sure he was dead, all it needed to do was catch one of the infantry men. Redgar himself was looking to tear open his opponents with his halberd, swinging in wide arcs to hit as many foes as possible.

Mina did not like the idea of one of these infantry men approaching her out of turn. Didn't they know they had to cut the men down first? Didn't they have any sense of propriety at all? This infuriated her, and she let her powers loose for a moment in the fit of rage. She dug up her dark powers and set out to set the man that came after her on fire. She would continue the spell until he was entirely consumed in dark fire, as a warning to all those infantry out there that were looking to not only kill her, but likely have their way with her as well.

Ardath Foresworn, James Massiney, Unknown Knight of an Age Past. A portal yawned open in northern Canton. Through it stepped three warriors clad in the colors of old. Red, silver, and black. First through the portal was Ardath Foresworn, she wielded a single hydrillium blade, and was clad in light armor on her shoulders, forearms, and thighs. She was one of the most wanted people in the kingdom, not to mention the empire for making the direct attempt on Julgrava's life that sent him into hiding. Next through the portal was James Massiney, a renown thorn in the side of the SKC since he popped up out of nowhere half a year ago. He had fostered Ardath's abilities as a fighter, teaching her everything he knew. He wielded two blades with the efficiency of a master, and was clad in sealed armor from head to toe. The third was an armored fighter the world hadn't seen in more than an age. His armor was ancient, and inbuilt were the ancient tools of war the kingdom had relied upon in an age past. A device fastened to the right arm sped swift death across the battlefield, punching through armor with ease. Another weapon was built into the opposite vambrace, a retractable blade. He wielded a single sword, and saw the battlefield through a magical visor that showed him what was alive and what was dead. The hiss of pressurized gas releasing would be heard near him occasionally as he exhaled. His suit was also a closed system. He wielded a single sword, unlike Massiney, but was obviously a master in the way he held it. "Ah, Morith! How it has changed!""I don't know... it looks like the same shit hole its always been. I mean look, that building is still on fire.""You might be confused, brother. We're far from your time.""It was a joke.""I should know better... a sense of humor does persist after death.""A sense of humor is all that persists after death, my master told me so, may he rest in peace.""Oh my gods... you two are the worst. Master, why in the Screaming Hells did we need this guy? We can take these so called Ritgr's of the crown with no problem."Ardath huffed, drawing her sword. "Check yourself before you wreck yourself, little girl.""Now now, let's all behave. We've got the false king's lackeys to kill.""This is why you brought me back? You sought out my tomb, and brought me back for a little tavern brawl?""This.. this is a little tavern brawl?""Compared to what I've seen, yes. This is a tavern brawl.""This is a blood bath.""Still can't remember your name?""Been a long time, friend. I know yours though.""Oh? Are you a contemporary of Master Massiney's?""No, he's a figure from my history lessons. Renown Black Templar. Military arm of the faith of light. I believe you were a captain or commander if memory serves. If memory also serves, I believe you gave in to Ta'al's might?""It was so. But like you said, death only leaves behind a sense of humor.""Who killed you?""I don't remember. Do you remember who killed you?""I guess that's another thing in common.""For the love of... you guys can make out later. We have work to do.""Mmm. He's not my type.""I am everybody's type!""Split up, we can kill more of them that way!"The unknown soldier went eastward, along the lines of militia for a few blocks, and then joined the fight there. He broke through the front line of the enemy infantry easily. A swing of his sword carved a man clean open from shoulder to waist with ease. His sword clove and hewn muscle and bone. Blood soon had splattered his armor completely. His sword passed from hand to hand with expertise. It was just as deadly in one as it was in the other. The retractable blade came out when the weapon occupied his right hand, and darts flew from the right gauntlet when the sword was in the opposite hand. The blade was simple enough looking. A curved one with a tapered point, and razor sharp serrations near the base. On the flat of the blade were the letters CSWMk.III. Soon the weapon was covered in the blood of his enemies. He was too adept and fast to let a single blade close to him. Every weapon was parried, every blow was turned. Even the arrows found their way to being deflected away from him. He was something out of legend. Massiney rushed the nearest enemies, bowling through them like the old days. He was a big man, and a bad man. Like a charging Skaldi berserker, he crushed them with the sheer force of his blows. Dozens of men started to flee before his wrath. Their weapons crumpled against his armor. Broken and cracked, his foes had no chance at offense, and they might as well had been made of twigs. A single blow from his sword, not that it was large, broke every bone it came across, they snapped ahead of the blade before it could cleave through the flesh all the way. He was a one man demolition crew, and he didn't need a hammer to accomplish it. Ardath was the least skilled of the three, but still strong enough to make the wretches before her suffer. She mocked them with her cheeky grin, and before they knew it they were on the ground, wondering what had happened. Several men were gasping for air, wondering why it tasted like copper and iron on their tongues. Wondering why they were on the ground. Wondering why their muscles didn't move. Her strength was her speed. She was faster than they could fathom. Her blade cut through them like single leaves of paper. Slashes weren't used often however. Only a hardy enemy received one. Most would fall to a piercing blow through their cuirass. An opening would lead her past their spear, and through their chest, and back. Before they knew it they had been run through, spine severed, and bleeding out into a lung or both. It was all about the angle. The 74th, 83rd, and 82nd began to crumple against these three.
