"We wait, and hope they bring me the books I asked for. Might be a few days. It's a good a time as any for a second lesson magic. When you're done setting up camp of course."
She let him go about his business. She didn't have any camping equipment herself. She had fully expected to stay inside the city, and was woefully unprepared to spend any time in the wilderness. Despite certain facts, she would be uncomfortable and she'd rather avoid that. Jorkahn managed to save them from having a hard time out on those plains. She was impressed with his handiwork.
"This looks like a nice camp. I'm not too great at this stuff myself, I'm a city person. It's woefully hot out here, I'm going to get out of these."
She gestured to all of herself and took her cloak and armor off, working the straps and various hooks and such to get the heavier pieces of armor off of her first, then the lighter until she was wearing just a green shift and matching sarong. She still looked like herself. The heat had made her sweaty, and any breeze that blew through was welcome.
"Better... much better."

Jorkahn nodded as he worked. As mentioned before it didn't take him long to finish camp. When he was done Allyria praised his work, he smiled at her. "My first few camps weren't the best. Common mistakes are not taking into account the weather and blocking your sight lines. It is very easy to get ambushed if you can't see potential threats coming. A lot of beginners also underestimate how much wood you need to keep a fire going for a while." He thought back to his hard lesson on that as a boy. "That was a cold couple of nights. I kept tripping over the underbrush while looking for wood at night." The ha;f-breed laughed at his past mistakes. He was lucky he lived through some of them.
"I could teach you if you'd like. It is a useful skill." He turned his gaze away as Allyria undressed. His partner was correct, it was quite warm and he was sweating in his armor, but he preferred to keep it on. It made him feel safe and he planned on hunting for food in a bit anyway.
"Did you bring any rations? I have a bit of extra food in my bag however it isn't fresh. We should probably hunt for something if we are camping out for a while. I'd recommend donning your armor again, just in case, but you probably know of the dangers out here better than I." He motioned to their surroundings. "You can come with me and I can teach you how to hunt as well. Hell, maybe we could turn it into a magic lesson as you said!" The Champion smiled. "If you would prefer to rest for a while we can do that, too. Hunting is a bit more difficult in the dark. More dangerous, considering other hunters are on the prowl.

"I've been camping before, I know the basics of setting up a tent and making a fire. I'm not as good at it as you though."
She had chuckled at his anecdote about cold nights. When she ran away from home and camped in the wilderness for the first time on her own it was spring and she was in no danger of freezing to death. It had been cold, yes. Chilly would be how she'd describe it, not freezing.
"I did not bring any rations because I thought we'd be entering the city today. Not that we'd be stopped outside the gates. Still, I do need to get inside because I have business other than this disease to take care of."
That mainly being intercepting the message that she's some kind of horrible monster and breaking it to the council on her own, first, that she is a Forgotten and that's not something horrifying in the least. Her theatrics in Innorsford earlier in the day didn't help her case. But she was tired of being bothered by them.
"I wouldn't mind learning how to hunt but I don't have the tools to do so. Also I'm not inclined to put my armor back on today unless we're under attack by something that warrants such drastic measures. I-if you don't mind, I'd like to just rest for now."
Whether she wanted to admit it or not, all that teleporting about the country did take something out of her. Rest was a welcome action at this point.

"Normally, when you camp out close to a city, that's all you really need to know! I just like to be safe in areas I have never seen before." He nodded when she mentioned bringing no rations and listened to the rest of what the Countess had to say. "Very well, take all the time that you need! We won't need a fire unless it gets cold, we need to see, or we want to cook something. So I will leave it unlit for now to conserve tinder." The finishing touches for his little campsite were to pick out a rather large log from the wood he had gathered to sit on. He dug it into the ground slightly and packed the dirt around its base to keep it somewhat stable near the campfire. He motioned for Allyria to sit before placing his shield down and using that as a seat.
"Being able to track your prey is half of it, the only tools you need there are what you use every day. Sound, sight, smell. Sometimes taste helps, too!" Jorkahn looked around their surroundings again to make certain nothing was sneaking up on them. "If you don't mind, what other business do you have here? Feel free to put me in my place if I am out of line in asking."

Allyria was listening to Jorkahn through the topics of camping and hunting. She didn't know the first thing about hunting, and though she knew a thing or two about camping, at this juncture she wasn't interested in learning much more. Considering her ability to travel across the country quickly, she was more inclined to stay at an inn or a friend's place rather than spend any time out in the dangerous wilderness. Of course, if she can get into the city without any trouble.
Korasus was a different sort of place for her. She looked at the multi-tiered city as he spoke, thinking about what her siblings were doing and what her parents were up to. The silver and golden spires of the highest level glinted in the sunlight. It was awe inspiring. Her focus on her hometown if you could call a city with such a large population a town broke when he asked her what other business she had to attend to. For a moment she considered telling him, but it was not his business. He didn't need to get involved with it.
"Council business, you don't need to get involed."
Allyria rolled over in the grass to catch a quick nap, and immediately started coughing. It did not progress into a full fit.

Jorkahn nodded and smiled at the woman again. "Very well!" He felt a slight twinge of regret for asking, thinking he may have insulted her a little. That likely wasn't the case, however, and he quickly pushed that thought out of his mind. He watched her briefly as she began coughing and, when she stopped, turned away to let her rest.

The half-breed began coughing a short while later. He tried to stifle it with his hands and forced his lungs to co-operate. The attack subsided as quickly as it arrived. The boy sighed and watched their surroundings for a while, every so often finding his eyes coming to rest on the city before him. He found himself suddenly feeling a bit disappointed that he wasn't going to see the inside.·

Allyria fell asleep shortly after her coughing fit. It had been a tiring day so far. The travel had taken a lot out of her. But now she was in home territory and she felt safe enough to rest. Even if it was outside. And even if it was without any sort of bedding. At first she did not dream, merely breathing lightly and entering the regular sleep cycle. It did not take long for that sleep to change into a dream.
She was at home, and large angry carrots were berating her for leaving, wielding knives and having harsh things to say to her about her haircut.
At first she was upset about this. She liked her hairstyle, and her leaving her home, though intially an unplanned venture, had led to her life changing for the better. She was no longer a tired and overworked bureaucrat in a system full of tired overworked bureaucrats doing absolutely nothing important with their time. She continued to tell these vegetables off about their lack of initiative. If they were so upset they could have stabbed her already.
Then she left her home and found herself in an underground passageway.

The Champion was getting fidgety. He found his gaze lingering upon the city longer and longer each time. After a short moment, he couldn't take it anymore and stood up in a quiet huff. The young man looked at their surroundings and then back at Allyria. Maybe going hunting, after all, would be a good idea. He would feel less antsy, at least. The lad felt bad about leaving her behind, but the city was within eyesight and walking distance, so he felt leaving her would be safe.

He sighed once again before running a hand along the upper limb of his bow. He coughed twice before heading out into the wilderness in search of food. He would begin by searching for signs of game and listening for the smaller creatures in the area. For all he knew, there could be tracks right by their campsite.
Normal? (0)+ K (45)+ Hunting II (10)=55 Success Rabbit Failure Failure Failure
And so he did. It didn't take the half-breed long to find some rabbit tracks! They led him further away from camp. Unfortunately, the tracks weren't very deep in the earth beneath him and he lost the trail rather quickly. The young tracker frowned. Maybe the fatigue and hunger were getting to him? He did nearly die from the disease earlier today.·····

Now Allyria had the right idea. Take a nap, rest. After all, she was infected with a terrible disease that was most certainly draining the life out of many people in the country. Why, she was positive some of those souls contending with such a disease would perish. In fact, she was dreaming about it.
There in the courtroom was her friend Vekkia, standing as prosecutor. Grayson was the judge, Lily was her counselor. Allyria wasn't very familiar with the law. She was curious as to how she wound up in this position. Suddenly she was accused of failing in her mission and allowing them all to die of hacklung. A parade of her friends marched by that declared she was guilty of sleeping on the job while she should have been doing all she could to stop the disease.

Jorkahn decided to try again. There was still a while before the Countess would wake up, or so he thought. He didn't want to come back empty handed.

The hunter moved away from the tracks he had lost earlier, not wanting to mix them up with another potential creature. He knelt to the ground to look closer.

And he found nothing. The half-breed decided to walk for a while longer before looking again.
Success! Rabbit Success!
The young tracker quickly found some fresh rabbit tracks. He wasn't sure if they were from a different rabbit or from the one before. Pulling out his bow Jorkahn took a few steps forward. He must have spooked the poor rabbit because it bolted out from the brush near where his foot came down. Nearly on instinct, the Champion of jewels pulled back on the bow and let loose an arrow into the rabbit. It fell with a squeal and lay motionless. He was impressed with his own shot and jogged over to look at his prize. It was a normal size, nothing too impressive. He cleaned the arrow and returned it to his quiver before wrapping up the rabbit and placing it inside his bad. He would skin and prepare it later. One rabbit wouldn't be enough to feed both of them.
Got 1 rabbit? Hooray!····

Allyria continued her nap. Now her dream moved on from the bad trial that made no sense to a completely different direction. She was sitting on a beach, a tropical beach that had a little outdoor tavern bar and fruity alcoholic drinks in husks. She felt the sun beating down on her as she lounged on this sandy tropical lake beach with tall and strange trees with fronds instead of branches. Vekkia was in the chair next to her, soaking up the sun with her. They were talking about something. Swimming? Fishing? No, those things wouldn't interest Vekkia. That made no sense. Also, why was she in the sun, she hated bright lights. The more she thought about the scene the more it became something strange to her. She had never seen those kinds of trees before too. And there were no sandy lakes as far as she knew. Just muddy or rocky shores.

The young man was getting pretty far away from the camp at this point, but food would be necessary at some point and one rabbit wasn't enough for both of them. He would continue on for a few moments longer.
30 DLYCnA4o Succumbed 45 Recovered.
Except now he would have to waste some time after being caught with a short coughing fit. Fortunately, it didn't last long, but he didn't feel well enough to continue for a few moments. Once he felt relatively hale, Jorkahn did the usual and looked for more tracks.
55 Fail! Fail! Success!
The darkness was making it difficult to see, or perhaps it was simply the lack of game in the area? The young hunter was becoming increasingly more disappointed in himself as the night progressed. It would be smart to return, soon. Perhaps he could cook something up for Allyria and just eat some of the old food he carried around for himself? The half-breed did find some tracks eventually, but they were far too old to be of any use. He would chock it up to a learning experience if he wasn't so hungry.····

The Following Morning
As the sun rose over the eastern darthaks it brought forth dazzling light that reflected off the silver spires of Telle'Korasus. The gauard from the day before came upon their camp, cluthijg her spear and a book.
-"Anyone awake? I have the book you requested. Still alive?"-

Jorkahn had returned to the camp sometime after dark. Without the sun it was difficult to see tracks clearly and even though his ears were keener than most, hunting was still a very visual sport. The young half-breed had been frustrated with himself but he quickly laid down to rest after Allyria had awoken.
Sometime early in the morning the man had awoken and taken watch duty upon himself whether Allyria had fallen back to sleep or not. He was so entranced with the beauty of the sun shining off the city he would have missed the guard had she not come from their direction. When she reached them and spoke he stood up and waved before turning to get Allyria. Wherever he found her he would ask, "Are you awake Lady Allenmorde? The guard is here and I fear I am making her nervous." He was half joking.
When Allyria walked out he would take a position away from the two and stand in an unthreatening manner, content to simply observe for now considering he couldn't partake in the conversation.

"Hnnnn... I heard her. Morning is the worst."
Allyria sat up, bleary eyed with her hair completely disheveled. She blinked a few times and looked at the guard, then at Jorkahn. Then back to the guard. That's when she saw the tome. Her eyes opened fully once she realized what the hell it was. A book. The book she needed hopefully! She stood up and adjusted her clothing then went over to the city guard.
-"Much obliged. You may be saving the world in a way for providing me with this. Not a joke. Thank you, what do I owe you?"-
She held her hands out for the book, hoping the guard would give it to her easily. That was about when she felt the Hacklung attack come on. She stifled it by clearing her throat. Good luck had come to her for the moment.
