Jorkahn arrived at the Artificery rather early in the morning. The boy was atop his mare, Libby. yaev6HMs ((Succeded in dismounting via Riding) He dismounted a little clumsily, nearly tripping over himself but reacting quick enough to regain his balance. The young warrior smoothed out his cloak and looked around to see if anyone had noticed. Fortunately, it seemed as if no one was paying attention, or if they were, they were kind enough not to say anything. He let out a sigh and hitched Libby up to a post outside the front door. Before walking over to the threshold the boy patted his mount reassuringly. When Jorkahn reached the door he would knock before entering. If the door was locked he would wait for a moment for anyone inside to let him in. If no one did, then he would use the spare key to enter. Once the boy was inside Jorkahn took a look around before calling out loudly. "H-Hello? Anyone home? Sorry to barge in!" Tyr

Tyr was tending to his forge fire when a knock came to the door. He ambled over and tripped the latch, pushing the heavy wooden door open. He smiled when he recognized Jorkahn, and held a hand out in greeting.
"Good morning lad! Come in, come in. We have a long day ahead of us."[/color] The Duke shook hands, clapped Jorkahn on the shoulder, then led him inside. He quietly tripped the lock on the door after shutting it, there were matters to discuss that needed to remain as private as possible. Moving back to the forge the shaper started to throw various pieces of metal into it for pre-heating, along with some extra coal in places. He pointed off in the corner where a bunch of weighted hammers sat in a row. He pointed to the last one in the line, the biggest of them. This would be the first test of his hammerweights, even though they were still far from complete. In fact he was pretty positive the heaviest one would be far too light.
"Do me a favor, pick up that hammer. Let me know how heavy it feels to you." As he spoke The brought several metals together to create another weight on the spot. Iron, steel, and hydrillium were blended together into a solid lump, then hammered into shape. An oak piece was quickly carved into a handle and Tyr set it all together for use.
Crafting Hammerweight Type 6. 1x: Iron, Steel, Hydrillium, Oak. Difficult (-30) + K (35) + Wep3/IronM/SteelM/Hyd0/Carp2 (65) + MoM (5) + Forge (5) +Skillful Crafter (17) = DC 97 zwjcMHJp Success! Masterwork check: Knowledges (65) + Designs (12) = DC 77, 4 levels possible.
4 levels earned, not necessary except for the knowledge gain. Hammerweight made, 30 Str req.
The piece was made almost flawlessly, and as such was a shining example of what a weight could be. After Jorkahn hefted the other piece, Tyr would hold the new one out to him.
"That one should have been moderately easy. If my guess is correct, this should be fairly heavy to you but still wieldable." This was going to be the first step to his design process, get a solid estimate of how much weight a person could handle.

Not much longer after the boy had knocked Tyr had come to the door and let him in. He smiled back and took his friend's hand and gave it a somewhat firm shake. When he was fully inside and the door was locked the Champion greeted the Shaper in turn. "Y-yes! Good morning. It seems your long day is well under way at this point!" When Tyr pointed at the hammer and asked Jorkahn for its weight the young half-breed obliged and picked it up. After getting a feel for it in his hands the lad began to carefully swing it around. It still felt awkward as he wasn't trained in handling this kind of weapon yet. However, it was rather easy to wield.
"Is you asking me the weight of a hammer going to be a recurring theme every time I visit?" Jorkahn shot a playful grin in the direction of the smith. "It feels great! A little too light for my tastes, though. Could probably do some more damage with something heavier and the right technique." Now he was getting into fighting technique. Jorkahn cut his words short before boring the man to death.
The boy watched happily as his friend crafted yet another hammer in front of him. Now, this was a tradition he could get used to. The finished product turned out absolutely beautifully, even a mostly untrained eye like his could tell. He took it from the Duke when it was offered to him and looked it over for a while before doing anything else with it. "Even if it wasn't wieldable it would be an amazing set piece on the wall above my bed!" The Champion did the same thing as with the former hammer, bouncing it around in his hands and swinging it around. This time around, however, the warrior added in some flourishes and twirls. They were meant for wielding large war axes, so the added weight at the end of the hammer nearly caused him to lose his balance a few times. It looked a bit awkward, but after getting used to it Jorkahn nodded joyfully.
"This feels a lot better. It's heavier but the weight distribution seems more even and the handle is easier to grip and more comfortable! You have done a great job with this, but I think you know this better than I."

The weight of the hammer was about what he had figured, and an easy marker to go by. It would be slightly tricky in some regards, but it gave Tyr something to measure against at least. Still, with the springs he'd created he had a better idea for how to do this in the future.
"Only for a little while longer my friend, soon I hope to have something simpler built. A device that gets heavier the farther you pull it, that I might use for measurements instead." He was building gym equipment apparently, who knew. Maybe he could offer that to his soldiers as a way of building strength, might make things easier than whatever they were doing now. Tyr watched as Jorkahn wielded the second hammer, noting the difference in technique from what he himself was used to. As a hammer and mace wielder, what Jorkahn was doing seemed set for a different weapon completely. Then he remembered his last equipment set included a two handed axe.
"Do you still favor great axes, or shall I craft you a different weapon this time?" Even without answering more metal was in the furnace. While it heated up Tyr walked over to Jorkahn and eyed his head from different angles, at one point putting his fingertips against each temple to get a rough measurement. Designs churned in his mind as he took some iron, superheated it, then hammered it over and over. This repeated through three cycles until he had a folded steel ingot, which was merged with a plain iron piece, and a hydrillium ingot. The three pieces were merged together, then hammered out around the horn of the anvil to create a helmet.
Refined three coal and two iron into a folded steel ingot. Crafting a helm from 1 folded steel, 1 iron, and 1 hydrillium. Difficult (-30) + K (35) + IronM/SteelM/ArmorM/Hyd0 (60) + MoM (5) + Forge (5) + Skillful (17) = DC 92 ZaidXNU_ Success, masterwork check: 60 + Designs (12) = DC 72, four degrees possible.
Failed masterwork, item still successful. War Helm (1fs1i1h): 109 DR; Req 30 Str, 18 Agi, 14 K. (Head/face/neck)
Tyr held the finished helm out for a test fitting. It wasn't his finest looking creation, but it was still one sturdy piece of armor.·

Jorkahn nodded and listened to what the larger man had to say. It confused him. "I-I'm not sure I understand. It sounds useful, though!" Jorkahn could handle quite a few enemies thrown his way, hell he had even fought off mythological beasts and blood hungry creatures before! He could even fling a few spells, but engineering? It had him beat. Hitting things with sticks and making them bleed was what he was good at. This didn't mean the lad was dumb, by any means.
The boy turned to look at his friend when great axes were mentioned. "Indeed I do! And I have become quite a bit better compared to when you last saw me!" Jorkahn had a big smile on his face. Normally he would feel terrible about bragging and honestly, he still did, but the Champion had been very happy with his recent improvements. Though Jorkahn didn't think he had improved too terribly much he had come forward in leaps and bounds.
The half-breed tried not to move too much as Tyr sized up his head. He had become rather accustomed to these kinds of things when Tyr got into his creative frame of mind. It didn't stop the lad from fidgeting nervously a bit, however. Being the center of attention had always made him uneasy. Like always he watched the Duke work and would accept his newly made helmet graciously before placing it atop his head.
Just like last time the lad tested out the effectiveness of the helmet with the hammer Tyr had made a bit earlier. It felt a lot sturdier than the last one. "I barely felt that! Once again you outdo yourself, sir! Thank you very much."

Watching Jorkahn hammer himself in the head was an almost comical sight, if not slightly worrying. The hydrillium in the weight actually made it quite the formidable thing if turned into an improvised weapon, though he wasn't sure Jorkahn was entirely aware of that. Still, the helm stood up to it quite well and that was all Tyr needed to know.
"I'm glad it works, that's the best I could hope for from any armor I make." Jorkahn was happy with it right now, hopefully the rest turned out just as well. Methods of refining the design were already flooding through Tyr's head, and he'd implement some of them for the chest piece, but for now it was time to make an axe. He needed to focus and make them extraordinary, as he had quite a high price to ask from Jorkahn for them. Not money of course, he had more of that than he could reasonably spend. No, something far more valuable.
"This axe will be slightly heavier than that hammer, just a forewarning. You may need to work up to wielding it a little bit." The design he had in mind would require too much to fit the range set by the hammers, but it was what needed to be done. Metal and wood was gathered, crafted, and pieced together to create a large battle axe. It was heavy enough from materials alone that Tyr was actually somewhat pressed to just hold the thing, let alone wield it.
Crafting a battle axe from 1 hydrillium, 1 iron, 1 steel, and 5 yew. Difficult (-30) + K (35) + IronM/SteelM/Hyd0/Carp2/WeaponM (70) + MoM (5) + Forge (5) + Skillful (17) = DC 102. Autosuccess. Masterwork check, 70 + 12 = DC 82. Five degrees possible. YXRMCvp4 Four degrees earned. Superior Battle Axe (1H1I1S5Y): 218 Dam; Req 34 Str, 23 Agi, 22 K. (Slashing, Chopping, Ripping, Two-Handed)
The weapon was fantastic, and right at the limit of Tyr's own ability to hold properly. He handed it over gingerly, fully expecting Jorkahn to drop it from the sudden weight.
"Careful with it, it has an edge sharper than any I've made yet."

"The way you say that sounds to me like you aren't giving yourself enough credit." Jorkahn took the helmet off and placed it down on a nearby table, or shelf, or some place that he could place it down. He put the hammer back in its place on the rack. The boy then went back to watching the man work. He watched very closely this time as the axe was made. He was surprised how much Tyr could do with such a small amount of metal. It seemed as if the axe was more wood than anything else. Jorkahn also noted how heavy it seemed, Tyr even having a bit of a problem moving it around. He nodded at the smith's words.
"I will find some way to make it work." When the weapon was finally finished the Shaper handed it over to the Champion. It was so beautiful it made Jorkahn want to cry. Okay, maybe he wasn't quite that emotional, but it was still a work of art! The boy took the weapon and nearly dropped it from the weight. His foot shot forward and his stance shot into a more supportive one. Angling the blade away from anyone and anything he let it swing around until the blade was facing down. Giving himself a moment to steady himself he lifted it normally, unable to hold it out to its full extent.
"You're right! It is rather unwieldy. I could swing it around a few times but not effectively and I would tire out quickly." The boy paused and placed it upon the table next to his helmet. "Just means it will be great to train with!" He chuckled. "I can't wait to try it out."

Weapon complete Tyr moved on to the next piece in line, the chest armor. This one would be a modified design from the helmet construction, utilizing a few more materials to cover more area, as well as show off his true capabilities as a shaper. Mastering one material was easy, but mastering a variety and using them in concert? That was a shaper's true skill. He hammered the metal into plates, then started poking about Jorkahn's midsection to sew up a pattern. As he worked, he talked.
"So, as you recall my prices tend to be...interesting." A dead wolf, a hunting trip to find a Saurian in the mountains, not what you'd call ordinary. Very difficult to write a receipt for. "This will be the same way, and yet very different." Tyr's voice was somewhat serious as he spoke, a departure from his normally jovial tone. "I have seen a fair amount of your capabilities up close and personal, and you have worked for me admirably. I find myself in need of someone dependable for various tasks, someone who would serve in the old ways. I may ask you to do things that are dangerous and difficult, or mundane and time consuming.."
Tyr wanted a Ritgr, one who could do things for him that he couldn't complete himself. Be it a lack of ability, time, or the fact that he needed it done quietly and out of the public eye, the need was there.
"For such service, you would have access to all that I can offer. My resources, money, power, influence, and of course any equipment you might need. You would have a home here, and would want for nothing." He stopped working briefly and inspected the armor he had produced before finishing the offer.
Crafting plate mail from 1 hydrillium, 1 steel, 1 iron, 1 leather, 3 cotton. Difficult (-30) + K (35) + IronM/SteelM/Hyd1/TanM/Tail3/ArmorM (100) + MoM (5) + Forge (5) + Skillful (17) = DC 132. Autosuccess. Masterwork check: 100 + 12 = DC 112. Six degrees possible. a_jfB0nk Four degrees earned. Superior War Plate (1H1S1I1L3C): DR 144, +3 cold resist; Req 30 Str, 15 Agi, 14 K, 3 Cha. ( Chest, Back, Abdomen, Sides, Shoulders, Upper Arms, Thighs)
The plate armor was a masterpiece like the axe, and Tyr laid the armor across a work table for Jorkahn to inspect.
"Before you try this on, I need you to make a decision. Will you stand beside me in all my endeavors, and act as my sword when necessary? Will you serve as Ritgr to House Mardok?" If he agreed the Duke would help him suit up in the armor for inspection, then craft the rest of the equipment.

Jorkahn raised his hands in the air to give Tyr easy access to his torso. A little red flushed on his face, as the physical contact and close inspection made him a bit uncomfortable, but a bit of discomfort now could easily save his life later. He nodded at the larger man's statement. "Definitely quite a bit different than my father's preferred methods of payment." He thought back to searching for the old Skaldi in the valley with the waterfall. He still needed to find a wolf. It always seemed like when he wasn't looking for them they were everywhere. Funny how that works out.
The boy's ears flicked to face the man before his face did, eyes curious to what the Duke meant with what he was saying now. The more he talked the more the boy's face flushed with emotion. It sounded like he was being complimented and only recently did he grow to be able to accept such compliments without complaint. When the Shaper continued with his speech the Champion grew a deeper understanding of what he meant. He could feel a mixture of excitement and a little bit of anxiety well up inside him, among other emotions. He did not need the power, or the money, or the influence. The equipment would be nice, and possibly even necessary to accomplish his duties. But, a place to belong? Serving under someone he had grown to trust immensely and only found himself respecting more with each passing day? He felt like he needed that, and the boy had no idea the near future that was to come where he would know he needed that.
The boy was to become a man, something and someone to be respected even if only by one person. That was enough for him. Jorkahn was speechless while Tyr paused to inspect the armor he had made. The lad was lost deep in thought. When the Duke spoke again the boy listened, taking a while to answer. Not because he couldn't make up his mind, he had wanted to blurt out his answer the moment he realized what the larger man was asking. The emotions within him didn't let him answer right away. The young man opened his mouth, closing it again before speaking and swallowing the lump in his throat. He wasn't going to stammer this time. "It would be my greatest honor to serve you, my friend." He hadn't looked so serious all day.

It was a solemn moment when Jorkahn agreed, one that Tyr clung to for a few seconds before motioning towards the lad with the chest armor.
"Then let's get this on you and get you fitted for the rest. Can't have you adventuring for me in outdated equipment can we?" Tyr would help strap the plate armor on then let Jorkahn test it out while he went to working on the next piece. Two pieces actually, he'd be making the boots and gauntlets pretty much one after another. It seemed like every piece he made was stronger and heavier than the last, which was probably a bad way to do it. Making the whole set match would be smarter, instead of this staggered approach. Heck, at that method he probably should have left the chest armor for last as it would likely be the most used. To start with Tyr refined some steel into a new form. Highly compacted and folded multiple times, it was called military steel and definitely had the strength to back up the name. It took a lot of steel, and quite a bit of coal, but would be well worth it in the end.
"Your service will come with some perks of course. Your gear, to start with, will be free. If you ever need something repaired, replaced, or completely upgraded, you have only to tell me and it will be done." He'd already said pretty much exactly this, but was now rambling to pass the time as he worked. Plus it never hurt to give someone the details about the job that would take over their life. "You will be given a house here, free of charge. It will be maintained and stocked for you, as you request it and up to my ability to provide." The armor was taking shape quickly, done this time by eyesight alone. Plate boots and gauntlets weren't too difficult to adjust if made too large to start with.
Making gauntlets and boots with the following recipe each: 1 hydrillium, 1 iron, 1 cotton, 1 leather, 1 military steel. Difficult (-30) + K (35) + IronM/SteelM/Hyd1/TanM/Tail3/ArmorM (100) + MoM (5) + Forge (5) + Skillful (17) = DC 132. Autosuccess for both. Masterwork check: 100 + 12 = DC 112. Six degrees possible. xkXzBOrv30, five degrees earned. Masterwork War Gauntlets (1H1MS1I1L1C): DR 209, 1 Cold Resist; Req 35 Str, 19 Agi, 14K, 1 Cha. (Hands, Forearms, Upper Arms) 77, three degrees earned. Excellent War Boots (1H1MS1I1L1C): DR 173, 1 Cold Resist; Req 35 Str, 19 Agi, 14K, 1 Cha. (Feet, Lower Leg/Calves, Thighs, Groin.)
The pieces came out wonderfully, and Tyr handed them over as they were finished. The pieces would, as with the axe, likely be too heavy for Jorkahn to wield just yet. But once he grew into them there wouldn't be much capable of stopping him.

A serious, emotional moment was shared between the two for a while. But, like always, the moment passed. Jorkahn couldn't help but wipe his eyes before putting on the chest piece first. He let Tyr help him and made it as easy as he could for the both of them. The armor was much heavier than his last pair. At first it was a little difficult to move around in, but eventually, the young man grew accustomed to it. It would likely fatigue him for a while to move around in this, but if Jorkahn stayed dedicated and wore it often it would start to feel like a second set of skin. An unnaturally heavy second skin.
"Hmm, it's more comfortable than the last bit of armor. The weight will take some getting used to, but I am confident I can handle it." The half-breed listened carefully as the Duke explained in more detail the perks of his service to him. The Champion nearly opened his mouth in protest, claiming he did not want to be a burden. Something caught in his throat and the man thought about it further. He had a duty now, and Jorkahn's issues could not interfere. He would have to stop seeing himself as a burden otherwise, he may truly act the part. Though they had always, to some extent, been in a mutually beneficial relationship this had been out of a sense of morals and what the other thought was right. Now it was out of a sense of duty and mutual respect for one another. They had to rely on each other to be the best they both could be.
"I feel like I am being redundant but I cannot begin to put words to how thankful I am for all of this." The warrior truly was at a loss for words. For now, he would accept his new armor gratefully. Ah, but there was something to say after all. "Do you already have something in mind for me?" Jorkahn put the gauntlets and the boots on. They were a bit too heavy for him to reliably move in, he would have to work up to them just as he would the axe.

With the majority of the armor complete there were only a few pieces left to construct. Primarily a sturdy belt, after that some of the more extravagant pieces that Jorkahn may or may not need. A bow for instance. The lad never seemed to carry one, but maybe it was just for lack of having it? Also some rings, for important reasons.
"Indeed I do. Right now I have no specific tasks, only vague goals for you to pursue any way you see fit." The metal went into the fire the same as every other, only this time two crucibles went in with it to hold some shiny blocks as they melted. "My great aim is to improve this country, one way or another. To that end I pursue knowledge, and creation. Knowledge is difficult to find however, as most of it has been destroyed." Thank the Sorcerer King for that one. "However I know of one place that may be able to help. Deep in Mardok there lies an old ruin, what appears to be an old fortress built by an ancestor. I know not why, as my father forbid me to explore it as his father did him."
Crafting a belt and two rings. Belt: 1 Hydrillium, 1 iron, 1 steel, 1 wing leather, 6 cotton. Difficult (-30) + K (35) + IronM/SteelM/Hyd2/TanM/Tail3/ArmorM (105) + MoM (5) + Forge (5) + Skillful (17) = DC 137. Autosuccess. Masterwork check 105 + Designs (13) = DC 118. Six degrees possible. ez0eqA9u Three degrees earned. Excellent Plate Belt (1H1I1S1WL6C): 136 DR, +6 cold resist, 25 small slots; Stat Req 32 Str, 15 Agi, 14 K, 5 Cha
Belt complete it was time for work on the rings. Tyr pulled out two small crystalline ore chunks from a box and proceeded to smash each up into powder, mixing the powder into the crucibles. The liquid metal glimmered and Tyr picked up the crucible with tongs to pour the hot metal into molds he'd previously made. They would cool for a while and he'd find out if the molds had any flaws in them when the rings came out.
"Second, this country needs to free itself from the grip of Julgrava." This was the tricky part of things. Tyr being such a public figure he couldn't really be an open traitor to the crown without causing massive problems for his people, especially with how close he was to Fordeth. He would need agents to pursue his goals in secret. "If you find yourself able to, assist the Alliance in any way possible to that end. This will likely make you an enemy of the kingdom however, and make our meetings tricky. Should that come to pass, we will find a way to secret you in and out of the duchy whenever needed." He already had ideas on that one. He'd come up with the idea for a tunnel connecting the town to the mines, why not expand such a tunnel system to include the castle and artificery? It would give Jorkahn free access to those places unseen. Extend a small side tunnel towards the nearby forest and you had a way in out of the public view.
Forging rings. One silver, one gold. Both are: Normal (0) + K (35) + Jeweler 0 (0) + MoM (5) + Forge (5) = DC 45 (Silver) (91, fail) (Gold) (13, success) Gold signet ring: 1 socket.
The silver ring came out and promptly cracked in half when handled. There had been an extrusion on one edge of the mold that made part of it thin, and when it cooled quicker than the rest of it the metal became brittle. The gold ring however came out just fine. On it was a symbol that looked like the mandibles of an ant, stylized as curved prongs. It was an old thing passed down in his house, one not recorded in many places.
"This ring will be the symbol of our agreement, for now at least. Should you need send me any missives of the utmost urgency, use that seal and I will know."··

The newly appointed Ritgr of Mardok nodded at what the smith before him was saying. He watched the man craft some rings for a moment before responding. "I can say I pursue the same. W-well, in regards to knowledge that is! Your goals are quite noble and lofty. I always knew you were ambitious, but this really puts things into perspective. I hope to be competent enough to live up to your goals." He thought over what he was about to say next for a moment, he didn't want to come off as impertinent. "I know your father forbade you from entering, but would you like to accompany me when I inevitably conjure up an expedition to these ruins? In fact, would you be opposed to me recruiting Countess Allenmorde to help? She is a bit more experienced at these things than I."
What Tyr said next was not entirely unexpected to the half-breed. However, he still couldn't hide the look of surprise from his face. "Y-you are certain of Julgrava? I have no love for our leadership nor do I have qualms of becoming a public enemy for the right cause, but this could blow back on you in catastrophic ways!" It worried the young man. His confidence had risen lately, but it wasn't yet at the point where he thought himself competent enough to not implicate his friend in some way.
The Champion of Jewels did not have very long to think of these things before Tyr explained the importance of the ring he was making for the younger man. Jorkahn nodded once again. "That will be useful. I'll be certain to take good care of it."

Tyr smiled at Jorkahn's suggested adventuring party. It was the same group he had in mind, but to see his Ritgr come up with it separately was heartening. Jorkahn seemed to be a good choice already, time would only tell just how fruitful this partnership would be.
"I would be happy to venture into the ruins, it has been tugging at my curiosity since I was a child. I imagine the Countess would be happy to join us, and I would be glad to have her support in such a venture." The Champion was pretty much decked out in new armor, but his only weapon was the axe. That wouldn't do, what if he found himself in need of a quick weapon to fall back on? Not knowing exactly what he would prefer Tyr went with the standard set of daggers.
"And yes, I am quite certain. I have already taken actions myself, although hopefully they will stay out of the public eye for some time yet." The Chromatic Council hadn't made his actions in Kel'Alee public so he had that going for him, but Tyr figured it was only a matter of time before that got out. " I must protect my people for now though, and such it is that our partnership should remain a secret until I can solidly defend against any aggression." It wasn't the way he wanted this to go mind you, having to keep his Ritgr hidden from the public, but it was all he could do. "Fear not though, when the country turns on you return here unseen. I will find a way to get you in and out in secret that you might continue to operate with my support."
Crafting two daggers, same recipe each. 1 hydrillium, 1 folded steel, 1 iron, 1 ebony, 1 silver. Difficult (-30) + K (35) + IronM/SteelM/Hyd2/Carp2/Jewel0/WepM (80) + MoM (5) + Forge (5) + Skillful (17) = DC 112. Autosuccess. Masterwork check 80 + Designs (13) = DC 93. Five degrees possible. 97YYtnSY (First) Five degrees earned. Masterwork War Knife (1H1I1FS1E1Si): 218 Dam, Piercing, 1 socket; Req 30 Str, 19 A, 14 K. (Second) Three degrees earned. Excellent War Knife (1H1I1FS1E1Si): 180 Dam, Piercing, 1 socket; Req 30 Str, 19 A, 14 K.
The daggers came out magnificently. The handles had been carved from ebony wood, with silver poured into engravings. Both ended with a socket at the base of the hilt, ready to accept any cut gem. He handed the pair of weapons over and eyed his new Ritgr up and down. There wasn't much else that came to mind as to what he might need, but then how was he to know really?
"Is there anything else I can make to aid you in the tasks I have charged you with?"

Jorkahn's face lit up at Tyr's response. "Great! We can write up a plan at a later date, perhaps? Or if I come up with one myself I will let you know." The young man brought his fingers up to his chin and stroked it gently as if in thought. "I see, I suppose it is inevitable, then. Though this goes without saying, you can always rely on me to help defend your lands." The conversation turned to a bit more melancholy topics. Jorkahn simply shrugged at the man nonchalantly. "I am used to hiding in plain view. I was often hidden away or acted like I wasn't there when around my family and their friends and business partners. That won't be much different for me." Something that would normally seem lonely to most was simply standard fare for the Champion of Jewels.
He looked on at the newly crafted daggers that Tyr had made him in awe. Just as beautiful as the other pieces that were his ever growing arsenal. The younger man took them from the smith and secured them out of sight against his thigh. Well, not before swinging them around a little to test them out. They required a different kind of finesse that he currently did not possess. Maybe one day.
"Well, if I want to be prepared for any situation I could use a new sword and mace. Both wieldable with one hand. A shield would be nice, but most importantly I would like a bow. My ranged options are quite limited at the moment, and I would like to change that." As was all too common with Jorkahn he suddenly saw insult in what he was saying. "J-just the bow would be fine! I don't want to tax your resources r-right out the gate!" Well, there went the calm and collected Ritgr of yesteryear.
