Tyr cocked an eyebrow. Tax his resources? Did Jorkahn have any idea how much his numerous mines produced?
"Lad, I have enough material available to me to outfit twenty of you. With ease even." While 20 was a bit of a stretch, he'd run out of hydrillium around the 17th set of equipment, he had plenty of everything else. Plus by the time he got there his land probably would have produced enough to cover it anyway.
The sword and mace came first, following the design of the war axe but staying slightly lighter. Each would have the same silver inlay the daggers had, an experiment Tyr was finding to be a good addition to each piece.
"Outside of those two major tasks, I have a few smaller details to be pursued when you get the chance. If you find yourself hunting up ani.als I could use their bones. Claws, fangs, all of it. Bone crafting is one of the last styles that eludes me." Reports of it said the gear was strong yet fragile. Good in short bursts.
"That, and I need someone who can use magic." Tyr held his gaze on Jorkahn with that one. He had heavy suspicions about the lad's ability, but he didn't have solid confirmation of it. Yes Allyria qualified, but she had her own dealings and wasn't always available. Tyr needed a trained mage to work with whenever.
Sword recipe: 1 Hydrillium, 1 Iron, 1 Folded Steel, 1 Ebony, 1 Yew, 1 Silver, 1 Cordite. Mace is the same, minus the silver and cordite. Difficult (-30) + K (35) + IronM/SteelM/WepM/Hyd3/Carp3/Jewel1 (95) + Race (5) + Forge (5) + Skillful (17) = DC 127, auto-success. Masterwork checks: 95 + 13 = 108 (103 for the Mace, same thing though). Six degrees possible. IKXzRzuB (Sword) Two earned. Grand War Sword: 190 Dam, Slashing/Piercing/Ripping, 1 socket, Cordite; Req 35 Str, 23 Agi, 17 K (Mace) Five earned. Masterwork War Mace: 253 Dam, Crushing; Req 35 Str, 23 Agi, 17 K
Once complete the pair of one handed weapons were handed over to be inspected. Jorkahn's arsenal was rapidly building into a fearsome collection of some of Tyr's finest works so far.·

Jorkahn was, in fact, clueless to the sheer amount of resources Tyr's counties produced. If the young man had paid more attention to his father's business he would probably realize how easy it was for someone with the means and money to, well, never want for anything. The Champion of Jewels was impressed.
He watched, yet again, as The Shaper shaped the sword and mace he had requested. They had the same beautiful inlay as the daggers on his hips. Jorkahn thought about how he would look with his new arsenal. It made him a bit nervous to be displaying such a fearsome display of fortune and stature. He would likely be an intimidating sight to behold, despite his size. It was an exhilarating feeling.
"Ah, yes. I still haven't found you a wolf yet, unfortunately. Just as you say, they are proving more elusive than I first thought. One day soon I shall go out hunting, again." The half-breed looked curiously at his Lord at the mention of magic. It brought a degree of nervousness upon his face.
"Oh? What for?"

An odd look graced Tyr's face. It was a mix of passion and frenzy, and the smile that came forth was much the same.
"Why, I don't know!" The Duke laughed as he said it, not quite noticing how his enthusiasm was building. "Ever since I talked with the Countess I've been stuck wondering all of what magic could be used to do. We have this massive source of power going almost completely untapped because of the Kingdom's control of mages." Enchanting things wasn't the only use for magic and he knew it. Mostly from stories of course, but a little from seeing it firsthand. Allyria's offensive capabilities were incredible, the raw power she had made him wonder what else could be done.
"I have many grand ideas with which to move this world forward. Having access to magic would likely make several of them a lot easier." He started to work on the shield as he talked, making a wooden frame then layering metal over it. "I simply find myself lacking an understanding of all that can be done." Magic had limits, he knew that much, but without any academic knowledge of magic he found himself unable to formulate many ideas around it.
"For instance, if I needed a tunnel dug I could hire the workers and have them spend countless days digging away. That would be the normal method at least. But what if I could have a mage simply...make the tunnel? Have the ground move itself aside and leave behind already solid walls?" Why stop there though? What if a mage could bring forth solid stone from the ground? How might construction efforts change with such power at hand?
Shield being made from 1 iron, 1 steel, 1 hydrillium, 1 silver, and 5 ebony. Autosuccess shield. Masterwork check: DC 98. Five degrees possible. kKM6nYkH 61, two degrees earned. War Shield (1H1I1S1Si5E): 100 DR, 2250 HP, 1 socket; Req 35 Str, 25 Agi, 23 K.

Jorkahn wasn't entirely certain if he should be excited as well, or slightly off-put. He had seen the Duke in a somewhat similar state before, normally when he talks about ideas or his art. But the frenzy was a bit different this time around and it threw the younger man for a loop. The energy certainly was contagious, however.
"I-I mean. Yes, what you say is true. It does make one think." He had read books on magic both fictional and fact. Seeing what Allyria could accomplish alone showed him how room he had left to grow in his own magical endeavours. "Admittedly, I know very little myself. B-but I can learn!" Jorkahn watched as The Shaper made a shield and nodded at what he was saying.
"I could use some practice with the element of earth, anyway. When does this tunnel need to be made?" It was obviously a joke, but the Ritgr put a goofy smile on his face anyway. "I will need to practice the magical arts in this case. Perhaps Allyria could help with this as well?"

And if that wasn't enough of a direct confirmation nothing would be. Jorkahn was a potential mage, that opened up a lot of doors really. He might be a bit untrained at the moment by his own admission, but that was something that could be fixed. At least he had the talent, unlike Tyr.
"Actually, having a tunnel created pretty soon might be helpful in the secrecy of things. Getting one from the castle to here, and from either place to the woods, would allow you to come and go without ever being seen." And not just him, but anyone who might need secret support. Alliance members could get in and out of the castle that way without people knowing, maybe lay low in the extra rooms as needed. "I'm sure she could though, she seems rather experienced in the magical arts." A good companion to have to be sure.
Tyr's next project was a regular bow. This would be a much simpler design than most of the gear he'd made so far. Wooden limbs set on a hydrillium base, with the same silver inlay just for effect. Carving it was almost too easy, but whether it would snap under tension would be the true test.
Making a bow. 1 hydrillium, 1 silver, 5 ebony. Difficult (-30) + K (40) + WepM/Hyd3/Carp3/Jewel2 (60) + Race (5) + Forge (5) + Skillful (20) = 100, autosuccess. Masterwork: 73, four degrees possible. LqYGRwoq 35, three degrees earned. War Bow (1H1Si5E): 233 Dam, Piercing; Req 35 Str, 27 Agi, 25 K.

Jorkahn frowned at the immediate necessity of the tunnel. "I don't think I would be much help as I am now, but if you want me to try I would be willing to." He wished he had pushed himself harder in the arts of magic up to this point. He had improved by leaps and bounds in the martial arts but had neglected magic. He planned to change that soon. "I planned on seeking her out for potential training opportunities for a while now. Maybe when I organize our expedition into your family ruins." It got the young man's mind stirring up ideas and plans for the future. It seemed to be all he thought about lately. Fortunately for him, Jorkahn had nearly unlimited access to Tyr's resources. And he was currently receiving all the tools he would need.
When the bow was finished Jorkahn picked it up and tried the string, testing the tension in the bow. He looked a bit awkward holding it. "Yet another thing I need practice, with. I fear there is not enough time in the day for everything I need to learn."

Tyr waved off the lad's offer of immediate aid, getting a tunnel dug was something he could manage. The Duchy had plenty of people within it just waiting to work for him, all he needed to do was come up with various projects for them. He got to work on a quiver to go along with the bow, then a good stack of arrows to fit in said quiver. The quiver would be a simple deal made from two leather, the arrows from a combination of yew and fang. It would make the arrows irretrievable, but hey he could always make more right?
"It takes a long time to learn anything significant, but the rewards are great indeed for those with patience." The things he could create were a perfect example. It had taken him nearly a decade of training to get where he was, and now he could create with nearly anything at hand. "Do not fear the effort, revel in the experience." Not that it was a lesson Jorkahn needed, but why not be encouraging if you had the chance?
Crafting is all automatically successful. Quiver from two leather: Holds 100 arrows. 100 arrows (4 Yew, 4 wolf fangs): +14 damage, ripping, irretrievable.
"One last thing. Return tomorrow, about mid-day. I will have something for you." He handed over the quiver with the arrows inside, and started cleaning up from the flurry of work he'd just performed. "Now then, is there anything else I can do for you today? Or shall we retire to the manor for food and rest?" They'd been there quite a while already, it was starting to get dark outside, crafting things had a bad habit of burning away time. Tyr was looking forward to relaxing a while before copying the Sissak codex down. He figured Jorkahn would benefit from the language training as much as he did, especially if he was being sent out to help the Alliance. Being able to talk to the Skaldi that were a part of the Resistance Front might be slightly helpful.

The young man nodded at the other's words. "Even having read the odd book or two about magic in my childhood I find it difficult to grasp." Pursuits of the mind weren't his forte, regardless of the fact that he was actually rather smart for his age. It was much easier for him to grasp ideas of the body, the feeling of something being just right after watching someone physically do it. That was his talent. "That is a great line of thought. And perhaps a less frustrating way of thinking... The warrior trailed off as he became lost in thought. He always had an anger problem, maybe it was more an error of philosophy? Then again, if it was really that easy nobody would suffer the problems he went through.
"Oh? You leave me curious, now!" Jorkahn took the quiver and stowed it in his pack. After a moment of looking at the bag, his eyes lit up. "Actually! Could you make me a larger bag, yet again? Other than that, all I can think of to ask for is a... What did you call them again? Second Skin?" Rather needy brat, wasn't he?

"Those I can do. The bag will be ready in the morning. I will prepare the material tonight for the process, and can fit it to you tomorrow." With the method he'd developed for Allyria's skin the making of the cordite cloth was what took the longest. Sewing it up on a person was fairly simple, given the right sized pieces to use. The shaper waved Jorkahn out the door however, and pointed him up the road towards the castle.
"Show my servants the ring and they will understand. Bathe, eat, rest. I will see you at noon tomorrow." Tyr would literally push his Ritgr out the door if he had to, and these days his strength was starting to show like never before. He could wave solid rods of steel around as if they were no more than twigs, carry a stack of iron as easily as a sheaf of papers. "You have entered my service, enjoy the benefits of such a thing."
A while after Jorkahn had left Tyr would be sitting by candlelight copying down the Sissak codex onto fresh paper. The bag was complete, using all the leather Tyr had left in stock, and the cordite patches sat in their frames waiting to be sewn together. Knowledge was one of the last gifts he could provide, and what better way to start than by offering that which Jorkahn had helped him learn?

Everything had been said and very soon it would all be done. Despite Jorkahn's wish to help his Lord clean up, Tyr would wave him out of the Artificery. The young man nodded and was about to turn to ask if he could watch when the larger man began to push him out. It was embarrassing for the half-breed to admit but the Duke was simply too strong for him to protest. "U-uh... O-Oh! Okay! I guess I will do that, then! Again, thank you for everything!" The door was shut and the Champion of Jewels stood there awkwardly for a few seconds, unsure of what to do. A lot had happened today in many different ways.
It didn't take long for him to reach the castle, he had been lost in thought the entire time. When he showed his rings the servants ushered him to some living quarters where they fed him and drew him a bath. Halfway through the bath the Ritgr could barely contain his excitement, the gravity of everything suddenly hit him. When he got to bed the boy got undressed, feeling a bit naked without his armor on. But they were safe here, right? It took him a while to fall asleep, his excitement getting the better of him.
Jorkahn woke up a bit later than normal, but still some time before noon. He ate and did some exercises and training to pass the time. Around noon time he would travel back to the Artificery and knock on the door, just like yesterday. He wondered what surprises Tyr had in store for him.

As the moon rose Tyr had put the finishing touches on a new copy of the Sissak codex. Sure he could have just loaned Jorkahn the original copy, but why not duplicate the knowledge and allow it to spread even further? The destruction of books had plunged the kingdom into darkness, this was his way of fighting back against such actions.
Writing/Copying Sissak Codex. Normal (0) + Lit1/High2 (15) + K (100) = 115. tt91CdcQ (Autosuccess)
With the book in hand Tyr retired back to his castle for food, a bath, and what little sleep he could get. He rose early in the morning and went right back to the Fishery to make sure everything was prepared. He worked on some future plans while he waited for the day to pass, cleaning the workshop and using a charcoal stick to draw up ideas for various buildings. When Jorkahn finally knocked on the door Tyr would open it wide for the lad, then close and lock it after the Ritgr entered. It would help cut down interruptions during the fitting of a Skin, and give them some privacy for everything else. First Tyr held out the recently created book to his new subject, resting on top of the bag he had made.
"A newer and bigger bag for you, along with a copy of the tome you helped me get. Read it and learn well, the language contained within will help you work with the Alliance." After passing on the book Tyr would start gathering the cordite patches and sewing supplies. "For now though, we shall fit your Skin. Strip to the waist for now, I will fit the top. We will move down from there. As long as you stay fairly steady feel free to read while I work."
Crafting a Second Skin, even from Cordite, is an autosuccess. Actual crafting will be covered in the RP.

Jorkahn smiled warmly at his new liege lord when the door was opened. Without wasting much time the young man said hello and entered the Artificery, door locked behind him by Tyr. A book was handed out to him, as was a bag. Another thank you left his lips as he stared at the book blinking in confusion. He wasn't immediately aware of what it was until the Shaper mentioned that the Champion had helped him acquire it. The lad's face lit up in sudden recognition. "O-Oh! It's the Skaldi Codex! What was the language called again?... Sissak? I think so?" The first two lines were spoken aloud whilst the last few were muttered under the lad's breath.
Jorkahn opened the book and began reading it as the larger man prepared his tools for the skin. He almost missed the man telling him to strip and it showed. A few delayed seconds later the boy's face went a bit red and he looked up in surprise. "O-o-Oh! Uh... I do suppose that is necessary, isn't it?" He fidgeted around for a moment before almost reluctantly taking off everything above the waist. It would get more embarrassing later, may as well get it over with now.
Fortunately for the young warrior, his nervousness would quickly disappear as he got lost in the tome. He never realized how much of the language was body language, not having a tail may be troublesome if he ever tried to become fluent in the language. Every so often Jorkahn would forget he was supposed to stand still and attempt to puppet some of the body language.
"Whoops! S-Sorry! This language is a lot more complicated than I originally thought!"

The cloth patches came together with speed, and Tyr worked quickly to keep Jorkahn from getting too uncomfortable. The lad's occasional movements from studying the book were slightly distracting, but Tyr took those moments to practice Sissak himself.
*No tail means tricky language.* It came out almost like a collection of animal impressions thrown into word form, with modified hand motions to compensate for the lack of a tail. He still needed to keep his sentences short and simple however, his fluency wasn't the greatest and trying too much left him grasping for the appropriate sounds and motions. * Will help make friends with Skaldi.*
The skin was finished with some last patches sewn together over the shins, and Tyr switched back to Cruic for ease of conversation.
"Take it out for a spin. Walk about, make sure it fits perfectly."

Jorkahn nodded and responded likewise in Sissak. -"Yes. But tail mean tricky armor."- He was referring to the Second Skin. The lad imagined this fitting would be much more difficult if he had a tail or scales for that matter. Jorkahn wondered if the fabric would get stuck on Skaldi scales, or if Tyr had already thought up a solution for that. He shrugged mentally.
When Tyr asked him to try the skin out, the young man looked down. He felt rather exposed in the skin tight suit but was surprisingly not as bothered by it as he thought he would be. Jorkahn did some stretches and walked around with exaggerated steps. When he determined it fit perfectly he transitioned into some punches and kicks, and then into some swings like he was holding his axe. His eyes lit up and he turned to Tyr.
"It fits perfectly! Thank you very much! Is there anything else you need to do with it?"
