Allyria took a moment to herself to recover. She had expended quite a bit of energy in the past few moments. It was grating on her, taking its tool. She hadn't had hard combat like this since those catacombs where she found the children. That was pretty terrible, but she got better with it. Here, she had allies to rely upon. Now was the time to rely upon them.
Jorkahn was currently with her for the most part. After she had launched a preemptive strike on the Blackrock crow she had shot at she took the moment to merely defend herself, and not close and engage. She would leave that crow to Jorkahn.
While she was taking a moment, she turned to check on Tyr. He seemed to be locked in combat with the other creature. Then came an idea to her mind. She'd circle behind it and try to distract it or something. She moved in a circuitous route towards the back of the Blackrock Crow that Tyr was involved with. Hopefully he'd last long enough for this to work.

He did it. The boy had been practicing this technique for a long time, and the first time he actually had the chance to use it in battle he pulled it off. Normally this would be a time to celebrate, but considering the circumstances and the fact that his enemy didn't seem to take much damage from the counter he decided to press the attack. Maybe being more aggressive would get him the results he wanted? Or maybe it would get him killed. Throwing away his misgivings the young warrior followed up with two powerful attacks after his successful counter. One aimed to decapitate the Crow and the other meant to stop its heart. Or, in this case, cleave it in two. Whether or not he was successful the Champion's last move would be to take the same stance he did before and attempt to redirect his opponent's attacks. He hoped Tyr and Allyria, now Scarlet, could handle their quarry swiftly. Without some manner of help, the half-breed wasn't entirely confident he would last very long.

This wasn't working, and it wasn't working in a really annoying way. The bird thing couldn't even move! Yet Tyr was here completely missing his target over and over. The pain in his groin became pointedly prominent in his mind, provoking the poignant-ok I'll stop- thought that his own lack of agility was causing an issue. Maybe evening the odds, if he got lucky enough to actually hit the damn bird-thing, would be helpful?
And thus it was that Tyr struck out for the thing's thigh. Granted going for the groin would have been fitting vengeance, Tyr wasn't enough of a dick for that. Not that he even knew if these things had genitalia, of any kind, so it might not even have been that bad, but it was the principle of the thing! And we're getting off track! Boom, thigh shot! Followed up with another! And then back into a blocking stance! Haha, fisticuffs! Really lethal fighting-with-monsters type fisticuffs.

Things went poorly for the group this time. Though the first Blackrock Crow's head was still on the ground, gurgling blood and foam. The rest of the body started flopping around. As if it were trying to attack someone but was entirely ineffective. The second Blackrock Crow took a second to slash at the crystal thorns still causing it pain, but it merely cleaved air. Then it blasted Tyr with flames. The man's shoulder burned while he attacked the Crow, striking nothing but more air. The third crow, the final crow, dodged Jorkahn's first attack, fired a bolt flames which soared over Jorkahn's head, and then dodged his other attack. Crows started to craw more and more until their cacophony was overwhelming. Allyria had managed to get behind the Crow that was working Tyr over. This was her opportunity to get some hits on the crow. She took an sweeping slash at the monster's legs, bring it down to everyone's level. Her second attack would be to hit it with the point of her scythe directly in the face if it were to lose it's legs and land on it's back. If not, she would aim for the center of the torso and skewer it. If the first attack failed, she'd at least try to cleave the creature through the back.
Something. Anything.
Trying to kill them was hard, they were survivors. It was something to envy. They were powerful. They were hard to kill. The one without the head was just flopping around like some kind of fish on land. It's limbs were sprawling around, claws flailing in the air. It was still dangerous. Luckily the fight had moved away from it. The other two had taken hits but weren't as unlucky as the first.
It had felt like hours. The fight. Hours. She realized she was getting tired.

His attacks had missed, fortunately so had his enemy's. Tyr wasn't so lucky, the boy saw the man take a blast of fire to the upper arm and Jorkahn's face tensed as he gritted his teeth in anger. He couldn't hit the monster, it was quite a bit faster than he was. And if he couldn't hit the monster how could the lad hope to defeat it? The champion turned his full attention back to the creature in front of him. The cawing of the birds in the trees was only serving to fuel his anger, whether or not that would be beneficial was yet to be seen. With only enough hesitation to look for an opening the warrior swung his axe at the monster's head in another attempt to kill or, at least, incapacitate. Whether the attack connected or not the boy would dodge to the side, holding his weapon out in front of him to potentially parry any counter blows from the beast. The moment his feet hit the ground the nimble fighter would attempt to bring his axe down into the chest of his opponent. There was bloodlust in the young halfbreed's eyes.

Things just weren't going very well were they? At least this time Tyr's only new injury was a semi-serious burn to the shoulder. Sure it hurt, but there wasn't much in the way of lasting damage. His groin had a way worse tingle going on. And even then his sheer inability to punch a friggin' monster crow was now the leading cause of frustration. How hard could it be to hit a man sized bird? Why couldn't it just stand there and let him beat the feathers off it? It was tiring trying to keep on punching over and over.
Recent experience with tiring events told him a real quick snack could help. Without any dragonfruit handy it looked like the flask of milk might be the best option. Down the hatch it went with a real fast gulp and boom, Tyr got right back into motion. One more punch aimed center of mass, then ready to swat away any incoming attacks. Hopefully Jorkahn and Allyria would have better luck with their targets and help him eventually.

The first blackrock crow to go down was accompanied by it's third companion just after it raked its claws, harmlessly, across Tyr's side. Allyria took the legs out from it as Tyr was caving in its chest cavity. Then she buried the blade of her scythe in its head. A giant hole was in its head where its beak and general face should have been. It twitched and throbbed on the ground and then began to flail. Blood splattered everywhere as it did so. It made horrible screeching and gurgling noises. The final crow was facing off with Jorkahn. It managed a scrape its claws across the young man's belly. Blood would splash the ground and cover its claws. The champion swung back with his axe. It cawed as it dodged, and then took the axe straight to its chest. It stumbled backwards as blood shot from its massive chest wound.

Success!
At least a version of it. Tyr and Allyria's combined efforts took the savage beast down. It was now time to work the last one over. Jorkahn was already giving it a good beatdown. She turned her head after delivering her blow in time to see him land his axe in its chest. She pulled her scythe free and looked at Tyr then nodded.
"Let's go help him."
She ran to get behind the creature, making sure to cut off its escape deeper into the woods. This way it'd be stuck between the three of them. Hopefully neither of them were too wounded that it'd be able to break through their guard. Tyr did seem to be having some trouble however, and Jorkahn had managed to gain a scratch himself. She gulped, it was probably her turn next. But the monster appeared focused on Jorkahn. Either way, she took a swipe at the creature's legs with her scythe. An attempt to reap them out from under the monster. Just in case it whirled around and tried to kill her she prepared herself for retaliation by bringing her scythe back in front of her in a smooth movement.

The Champion had been injured! Thanks to Tyr's expert craftsmanship the wound was not as deep as it could have been, regardless of how much it bled. It caused Jorkahn to wince and stagger a bit before regaining his balance and digging his ax into the crow's chest. The thud and subsequent torrent of blood satisfied him in a disturbing way. If he could push the initiative and exploit this new weakness he was certain he would win. Just as he was about to attack again he noticed Allyria come in from behind. It gave him an idea. "Your blows hold no weight, monster!" He shouted, voice cold and condescending (and rather out of character) an attempt to keep his opponent's focus on him. Anticipating an immediate retort of violence the boy shuffled to the side and held his weapon out to parry any incoming attacks. If the warrior wasn't interrupted he would then push his weapon out in front of him, aiming the tip of the blade into the center of the enemy's face in an attempt to help Allyria knock it onto it's back. If the monstrosity fell over the boy would step to the side and bring his weapon down on the bird's neck, attempting to decapitate it. If the bird was still standing he would simply chop at its neck from the side in a standing position.

Two down, one to go. Jorkahn was already engaged with the last bird-demon-thing and Allyria was getting herself right into the thick of things. While the combined effort of all three would bring the crow down that much faster Tyr would probably just get in the way at this point. There was no need for his heavy armor to take punishment, the beast wasn't going to focus on him anyway. He wasn't overly trained in combat either so he had little to contribute. No, right now he got himself into position on the side of the beast, ready to switch in should something happen to one of the others.

The crow swiped first at Jorkahn, its claws missing him by a wide margin. Then it swiped at Allyria, managing to rake her across her left shoulder. Her counter attack caused its legs to sweep out from under it with the help of Jorkahn's thrust. His axeblade bit through its beak and shattered its face bones. As it hit the ground it burst into dark flames, as did the other two flailing and broken bodies of its comrades. They would fight no more, and devour no more children. Left behind was a large sum of gold, a strange lantern, one of their claws that failed to burn away, and a gemstone.

Allyria lowered her face mask after the creature burned away and looked upon the damage that they had wrought. Three of the monsters were dead, with nothing to examine. She plucked a feather up that failed to burn away. A souvenir of sorts to remind her of the battle. Such a strange thing. Then she turned her attention to the lantern, that was stranger still. Not to mention that a claw, a gem, and some gold had been left behind by the bodies.
"How odd. That's an aquamarine, and I think that's one of the creature's claws. This lantern is strange though. Did either of you see one of them carrying it? I didn't."
She pressed her right hand to her wound to check it. There wasn't a lot of blood, and she didn't hurt too badly. She could manage back to town on her own. But that convinced her she needed tougher armor. And maybe an enchantment on it or two. That would help most certainly.
Squatting in front of the lantern, she looked it over briefly.
"Very odd. Probably magical. If it appeared from nowhere."

Allyria was able to sweep the crow's legs out from under it, and at the same time, Jorkahn's thrust landed and smashed in the thing's face. Before the warrior could bring his weapon down to decapitate the monster they all burst into flames and disappeared. A smile crept onto the boy's face for a moment before he swiftly repressed it. He stood there regaining his breath and looked around at the carnage they had wrought. It was then the Champion noticed two feathers on the ground that hadn't burned away. Kneeling to pick them up Jorkahn listened to Allyria's words. He responded while turning them over in his hands.
"No, I did not see them carrying the lantern." The adrenaline seemed to change his personality somewhat, he was a little less fidgety. After the boy was done examining the two feathers he pocketed them and walked over to Allyria and joined her in looking at the items. "Magical? What do you suppose it does?" His breath was a lot more stable now, his heart rate normalizing. He waited for Allyria to respond, or even for Tyr to say something, before speaking again. "How should we divide this? I don't think I really need any of these items."
