"Giant—" I say as I exhale. I topple once I hit shore, and hop to my feet as quickly as possible "SNAKE!" I shout in panic, crawling/running and hobbling onto the grass. I turn and fall onto my back in the grass, watching the shore. When no giant creature of the depths comes following me, I learn to breathe again.
"There's a giant, giant man-eating monster snake in the river." I fall back and stare at a sky I hadn't expected to see again. "Scrite." I declare. "I just need a few moments." I insist before turning my head to look at Astris. "We need to kill that thing."

Astris staggered back a bit, staring at the creature open-mouthed as it snapped at her husband. "Get back on shore!" It was a moot point, as Ikram was already moving, but the sentiment remained. She watched the creature plunge back under the water and it's shadow move as it skulked beneath the surface.
Let's even the odds a bit, shall we? She gazed at the shadow moving, watching until it got into a better position, then raised her hand and focused her ire at it.

She felt her essence shift, but in her haste she knew it was too weak to do anything of value. She steadied herself, focused, and attempted again.

Ikram -Rested
River Serpent -Move -Move -Move
Astris -Cast Blindness (Failed -Cast Blindness (Success, did not adhere to target. No Line of Sight.)
The murky waters of the Tesiak provided cover for the River serpent. Though it's shadow may have been visible. It was not enough for Astris' spell to adhere to the creature and blind it. It continued to swim in a pattern near the shore, close to them. Soon it would return to the pipe. Nestling comfortably in its hole and awaiting the next prey to happen along.

I get back up off of my back and begin heading to my equipment. I'm not exactly sure what it is that she was doing, but I know that this is likely going to come down to a matter of rather extreme fishing. I get my leathers and begin putting them back on. With the bubble, I remained relatively dry. Hopefully, so would my equipment should I go down there again.
"I'm going back down." I say, gathering up my things. I begin with the leggings, then the boots. "I'll need another shield. Then I'm going to kill this snake." I look up, buckling my belt. "Unless you can think of something simpler?" I ask. I hope dearly that she has a solution which does not involve me going back down.

Astris looks at the shadow with some annoyance, then over at Ikram. "If you can get it to come above water, I can do more. Taking it's sight for example. Possibly more. Maybe try disturbing the water. I very much doubt it'd like stones on it's head. Fighting it above water is safer anyway."
She backs up from the water somewhat, and focuses her attention inwards for the moment, closing her eyes. I just had it's little cousins for supper. I'm not going to be overpowered by an overgrown eel.

Battle Data
-No Update Necessary.
The serpent continued to circle the area, looking for the prey that had gone from the water. It thought, momentarily, that they were above the water. It poked its eyes out of the water, spying them both near the shore. It watched as they talked, and as the wet one began to put its clothes on. Then the serpent retreated under the water. It was silent considering the sound of the rushing river.

Spying the thing peek above water, even temporarily panics me briefly. I steel myself and prepare myself in case the thing manages to actually bite me. I dart to the shoreline, uttering an angered roar and immediately try to murder the beast with my glaive. This has, in my mind, absolutely no way to backfire.
(EDIT: Please note I would not go into the RIVER, but prod at the bastard from the shore, however if my only chance of hitting the beast is to jump in the river—yeah I'll try it.)

She found herself startled out of her attempt to regain her strength by Ikram shouting of all things...and running headlong into the water. She scrambled, all planning apparently thrown to the wind. What the...oh...no...
Unwilling to see Ikram eaten to death by that thing, she poured her will trying to blast it with energy, just like she'd practiced.

Ikram charged into the water to assault the River serpent in its home territory. His attempts at impaling the creature were met with nothing but riverbed. The serpent bolted from the water, its jaws clamping down on the man's hand, not once, but twice. Its teeth penetrated his armor. The leather armor had saved him from the worst of the damage though. He would not lose the hand, and it would not reduce his ability to use his weapons. At that moment Astris had managed to fire two shots at the beast, one went wide and hit neither Ikram, nor the monster. The second hit it squarely in a body section that was above the water. It took the hit snarling. River Serpent (Adult)Stats: Str: 20, Vit: 20, Agi: 20, En: 5, P:5 HP: 345/400 -55 Sm: 80/80 MP: 53/53 /skills pending.

Shit was the only intelligible thing that could cross my mind at that moment. Somewhere, I was thankful to Allyria's crafting abilities. Withstanding a bite from a giant beast such as this and not tearing to absolute shreds was nothing short of a blessing. Still, I had no time to spend admiring the craftsmanship of that which saved my hand. Nor, now, could I breathe effectively. I needed to end this, and quickly.
The rapids carried my body down the Tesiak, I was only rooted by the snake which was intent on making meat of me. Most predators upon receiving significant injury were like to flee the scene. I did not have the luxury of allowing this beast to flee, living.
With my good hand, I worked to shove the head of my glaive into the head or throat of the beast.

Astris starts cursing under her breath, running after Ikram and the serpent's path downriver as fast as she can manage. shit shit shit shit shit.
She pulls together the last of her energy and forces it directly at the bit of river monster that she can see in a last ditch effort to damage it enough so it tries to flee Ikram.

Astris -Negated, Target dead.
Ikram's halberd found enemy flesh and bone, biting deep into the monsters skull not once, but twice. His third attack went too wide, as the monsters body was already floating farther down river. It's length and larger area allowing the waters of the Tesiak to push it farther and faster south. Ikram was free of the creature now, as was the pipe.
