The Kushfire mountains covered the horizon to the east in a wall of earth and snow. The bright glow of the moons' lights glimmering off the peaks was a beautiful sight to behold. It made the half-breed forget about Morith, about his mission, and about the plague, if only for a moment. It almost caused him to forget about his family, but there was no sight in the world regardless of beauty that could do that.
With a few coughs, the Ritgr was pulled from his reverie. Back to the task at hand. He shifted in his armor and checked over his weapons. They looked a lot less new than before, covered in dents and stains. The shine was a bit duller matching the Champions eyes. The young warrior had seen a lot at his age, and he was only likely to see more. Jorkahn waited for the rest of the strike team to show up at the camp, or for those in charge to direct them forward. For all he knew, the half-elkagr was the only one to show up. It would make things very difficult, but he was determined to see the mission through. Maybe Fyrra and Merrake could finally join back up with their kin?
Regardless of what happened, he had another chance to kill a bunch of racist bastards.
"Silver linings."
Rolling for hacklung 500uTqcP Success Jorkahn felt a coughing fit coming on and attempted to suppress it. A few coughs came out, but not enough to incapacitate him or hurt too badly.

"What is lined with silver? I don't see it."
Redgar said from atop a massive and panting black dire wolf. The creature looked to be in a pleasant mood. It's tail wagged to and from slightly, and it had a canine's smile on its face. The Duke was mounted atop it and was clad in his armor. He carried weapons and had a few small supplies on his saddle. He was not far from his home duchy. If he needed aid he could get it with ease. In fact that is mainly why he was here. Katrina thought it would be a good idea to get into the Drokagr's good graces to increase trade through their lands. He had a stranglehold on the only safe route to the rest of cruinthe. If he did something for them for free, they'd be more inclined to feel comfortable trading with him and the rest of the country.
That, and apparently he was a traitor? Didn't make any sense. All he did was defend his rights as a noble. But the king was more or less indisposed and hadn't been meeting with any of his subjects in months.
"You've got elf ears boy. Can you hear anyone else coming?"
What an ass.

Kell would approach from the south on foot, armed and armoured as a safety precaution for travelling through lands where all was not necessarily well. He'd travelled a good distance from his own lands to come and partake in this mission of the Drokagr Initiative, the thought of some of his own people being imprisoned by the SKC sickened him. Had he been travelling Cruinthe at the time of the laws rather than having settled to the south he likely would have joined them, the laws that put them there were barbaric and he was here to see that they were freed.
It seemed that he was not the only one that was here as when he did arrive he had been beaten to the point by a man riding a giant wolf and another in armour. The wolf rider he'd vaguely caught a glimpse of during the events in Morith but the armoured half elf he'd worked with before. "Jorkahn, pleasure to see you again, I assume you're here for the same reason as I?" He shouted out towards Jorkahn as he approached the two, realising a few moments later how rude he'd been and turning towards the man mounted atop the dire wolf. The beast gave him pause for it's sheer size and power but he reasoned that so long as he stayed back a bit he should be fine. "Kell Lo'Tharan, I hope we can work well together and this goes smoothly."

Hacklung threshold 10. x9|dgafD3, fail. Autorecover.
Tyr would be last it seemed, coming up from the west. He walked out of the woods without a sound besides the crunching of leaves and twigs, preferring to keep to silence for the moment. He wore the same armor he had at the battle of Morith, the hydrillium based equipment covering him from head to foot. Only his eyes remained visible, and even then it was through the helmet slits. He had worked hard to keep his identity a relative secret during the battle, and was trying his best to maintain it somewhat now. The only identifying marks on the armor were a warped version of the Mardok ant sigil, a secret emblem that only Jorkahn would recognize due to it appearing on his Ritgr ring.
And yet for all his armor protected him from, hacklung was not part of that list. As he walked the coughs ripped at his lungs, and red flecks lined the inside of the helmet. Still, he managed to recover from the fit and join the forming group. It would be somewhat awkward without him saying anything, but Jorkahn would hopefully understand and the rest of them could get over it. Redgar would just have to be slightly clueless about it for now, what with his habit of talking to people about anything, and this other fellow he knew little about anyway. He knew about the camp and an ambush hadn't taken them all, so hopefully they would just accept his presence and get over it.

If only he could be so lucky. Jorkahn's slightly tipped ears perked up when Redgar spoke to him. He didn't know much about the man, only that the taxes across his duchy had been exorbitant at one point and the Champion hadn't thought highly of him because of that. However, the man had openly challenged the crown, even if it was for entirely selfish reasons unbeknownst to the Half-breed. He smiled at the Duke with his lips, the eyes bereft of the emotion he was trying to convey.
"Merely talking to myself, my Lord." His smile quickly fell away, his face taking on a bit of a darkness at Redgar's somewhat racist comment. The Champion of Jewels did not react well to what he interpreted as racism. It was the entire reason the country was in this mess as far as he was concerned, but he decided to swallow his pride. The Ritgr listened intently for a moment before turning towards Kell and Tyr. He had heard them before Kell had called out.
"Why, I do in fact hear others coming." The half-breed nodded at the other's comment. "Well met, sir Lo'Tharan. I do believe we are here for the same reason." He took a good long look at the stranger. Something about the design of the armor and the figure of the person itself looked familiar. It wasn't until he noticed a similar insignia to the ring on his finger that recognition flashed in his eyes. He nodded in greeting before turning away to the rest of the party. He was worried for The Shaper after his coughing fit, but it seemed the man had recovered. Besides, he knew Tyr was tougher than the steel he worked with.
"Do you know if we are expecting others, Lord Karligar?" May as well try to be friendly.

Regarding watched the newcomers arrive as the elf-boy mentioned something about hearing them coming. Some kind of mighty Ant Ritgr was among them, and then there was a drokagr. Well... that's what he assumed. Somehow Redgar wasn't so sure about the antman. Was he really a man in there? Was he a skaldi?
"You're too short to be a Skaldi."
The Duke said directly to the ant persons face. Baalrung gruffed. He shifted his master about in the saddle. Redgar regained a strong grasp of the reigns. The dire wolf settled down.
"What a mixed bag of beetles. The only things we are missing is a Skaldi and a woman."
Redgar was just making an observation but it would sound like he was both lamenting the situation and poking fun at it at the same time. It took a second for Redgar to realize that he was indeed the highest ranking member of the realm present. That meant he was in charge, naturally.
"Unless any of you have a suggestion on how we go about this, I have a plan."

"Well met Jorkahn, I'd hope we are or I've made a mistake." To the newest arrival he'd offer a polite nod, the warrior not seeming much of a conversationalist and Kell happy to leave him to himself if that was his wish. The duke was the first to point it out but they did seem like quite an unusual group. A drokagr, elkagr, heavily armoured mute and a duke riding a wolf like another would a horse. The sight brought a small smile to the half-Drokagr's mouth, this was more how he'd hoped things would be, no racial boundaries and everyone able to work together.
Of course then the Duke had to go and ruin it, making a rather poor comment that caused Kell's smile to turn to a slight frown as he looked in the Duke's direction. Maybe things weren't quite so smooth as he would like but at least they would appear to be able to work together. Whatever else he may think about the Duke, he'd openly rebelled and had suffered for that in the battle of Morith, he was a brave man if nothing else.
"I've no plan myself, nor enough information on what we face to come up with one myself so i'll happily listen."

*And you're rude for a chief.* It was the closest Sissak approximation he could make to 'noble', even if not entirely accurate. The combination of grunting and roaring sounds would hopefully confuse Redgar enough about Tyr's actual identity so as to maintain his secrecy on this mission. The use of Sissak however seemed like the perfect thing to continue. Jorkahn would likely be the only one who could understand him, allowing the two to communicate in relative privacy.
*I say travel southeast, up the mountain. Surprise the camp from above at night.* Jorkahn would have to relay it in Cruic, and it would likely hold very little weight since he wasn't a nobleman in this disguise, but it was better than nothing. Not to discount Redgar's plan, the man was a fairly good tactician, but Tyr had the sneaking suspicion it might just equate to 'knock on their front door and stab them in the face'.

A smirk dragged the corner of Jorkahn's mouth upwards at Tyr's comment. The man quickly buried it, however. "Sissak." The boy paused for a moment before feeling it would be wise to clarify. "That is the Skaldi's language. I am not fluent, but I do dabble. I can translate for him. He says, 'Astute observation, My Lord." He gave the disguised noble a knowing look. "The Skaldi Man suggests we travel southeast up the mountain and then... Ambush the camp from above during the night." Jorkahn made a few gestures and grunts towards the Duke of Mardok. -Do you know Chief Karligar? Do you trust his abilities? His demeanor is appalling.-
The Champion turned back to look at Redgar with a smile on his face. "I have no plans myself. Feel free to share, My Lord."

Redgar listened to the elf-boy translate the skaldi-man's plan and relay it to the group. He thought about it, and it was more or less his plan. Which led him to think of an improvement upon it. The elf-boy and the dark-elf-boy had nothing to contribute to the conversation regarding the plan other than they had nothing to contribute. So they had nothing to contribute. Redgar mulled it over, and decided on the course of action.
"That is nearly my plan, as well. Though it would serve to provide a distraction at one end of the camp so the rest of the assault team can capture any important points with little resistance. In short, I'll attack their picket line if they have one. If they don't, I'll ride straight into camp and cause as much chaos as possible. Baalrung and I can handle that on our own. You all will flank them from the mountain side. My attack would be the signal, failing to notice Baalrung is impossible."
He paused. He was being as charismatic a leader as he could. If he had a forte, it was battle tactics.
"Thoughts?"

Kell's main job so far had just been to stand and listen, battle tactic was something that he was fairly new to, and the Duke Karligr seemed far more the warlord than he, so for now he'd trust the plan, even if it did seem as though it was essentially a suicide assault for the Duke with the rest of them ambushing from a flank. They had no idea what they were coming up against and he was half expecting Karligr to fall to arrows within the first few minutes of their assault with the role that he was taking.
"Perhaps I should accompany you Lord Karligr? Sir Jorkahn and his Skaldi companion themselves seem capable themselves of pulling in from the flank, I have a bow and could provide support should their picket be stronger than we anticipate. If we can present a stronger full front attack then we could trick them into believing our force larger than it is and thus a bigger distraction so the others can slip in."
It seemed like a solid plan to him, the idea of Karligr riding in and causing a distraction was solid, but it wouldn't hold any purpose if he were to die to the picket or defenses.
Unfortunately his first real input to the conversation was met with a bout of hacklung coughs, blood filling his mouth as his insides were wrecked with the pure force of the coughing and he doubled over nearly from the pain of it, turning away from the party and taking a few steps in an attempt to hide the blood splattering out of his mouth. Kell tried several times to suppress the coughing but each was met with only a renewed assault of it. It was inopportune timing for him to fall prey to the disease just as they were starting out, hopefully he could recover himself in time to participate or else they'd have to go on without him.

Tyr looked around at the gathered compatriots, and with his shaper's eye sized up what everyone was equipped with. While Karligar was definitely crazy enough to go riding into a camp on his wolf, that was probably the worst version of this plan that could happen. Karligar had next to no armor, riding straight into the camp was likely to turn him into a human pincushion. Tyr was decked out in heavy plate almost no one was capable of punching through with sheer force alone, and would likely crush him if his footing slipped on a steep face of the mountain. Comparatively Jorkahn had heavy armor on versus the almost entirely leather getup of the drokagr. No, if anyone should go charging in it would be Tyr with Jorkahn as backup. Besides, having a dire wolf tear into the backside of your camp was probably more terrifying. It would be harder to convince them of this without speaking Cruic, but he would try.
*I will charge in. Heaviest armor.* Not that the other two would understand, but he slammed a mailed fist to his chest to emphasize the point. He kept his Sissak sentences short, trying to keep the meaning accurate. Hopefully Jorkahn would pick up on his observations easily enough. *Jorkahn will aid me. Other two climb and flank. Light armor, better movement. You will know my signal.* Plan laid, Tyr would turn more towards Jorkahn and lower his voice to indicate more private conversation. *He led my warriors once. Good in battle. Not as good man.*

Jorkahn listened to Redgar's plan. It would have been a great plan that he could readily agree with if he was more aware of the Duke's combat prowess. His dire wolf was certainly imposing, and Redgar looked competent, however his armor and weapons didn't seem quite as up to snuff as Tyr's and his own. He scratched his chin in contemplation when The Skaldi Man spoke up. The Champion nodded. looked down at his own armor, and relayed what the disguised Shaper was saying.
"The Skaldi Man says he will lead the charge, be the distraction and... That I will accompany him. Our heavier armor will protect us from attacks. Meanwhile, My Lords' armors are more suitable for climbing." He turned to speak to his Liege in the Skaldi tongue. -Hmm. I'll take your word for it.- The young man smiled at Redgar and Kell. "Any objections?"
