AMBUSHED!As Jorkahn passed by the first set of cells on his way along the northern hallway a large claw came directly at him! It missed his face by mere inches! The follow up attack rebounded off the young half-elf's back harmlessly, as did the two others that bounced off his upper arms. The Brawler for the Old Gods that had attacked him was not confused however. No, in fact he was determined and obsessed with gutting the half-elf. He became faster, tougher to kill, stronger, and more accurate as a boon from his god for his devotion. He would have Jorkahn's blood, if it was the last thing he did. Allyria would be similarly ambushed when she passed the threshold for the third set of cells. The first strike missed her, merely grazing the frayed edges of her red cloak. The second slashed her hand open, tearing through the flesh, ripping muscle from bone, flaying skin, and spilling blood. The blade had easily pierced through her hand armor, then its sharp as sin edges tore through her hand like there was nothing there to protect it. Piling more wounds upon the half breed came naturally to the brawler, as he jabbed down at the Countess' foot, piercing through her boot and ripping into the flesh. Blood bubbled up as the blade was removed and a final strike was issued to no gain. Yet the hits on Allyria had goaded the brawler further, and his god granted him new strength, vitality, and agility, as well as accuracy, for the devotion. Allyria was surprised by the Brawler that came out of nowhere. She had known there were more of these guys, but she was not expecting another one so soon. In retaliation she put her left hand up at the Brawler's face, unleashing a staccato of molten hot arcane glass at cultist. If that did not destroy him utterly she would raise a shield instinctively over her entire body, then regain control of her scythe and slash at him in a single motion, unleashing the force of wind along with it to further punish the cultist.
She did not like being injured, her foot ached, her hand throbbed. Blood trickled down her arm staining her clothes, and blood bubbled up out of her boots. The injuries weren't too bad though, she would recover, she was not in a life threatening situation.

Jorkahn took a step backwards immediately after the claw narrowly missed his face. The young man attempted to bring his weapon up to bear but was hit three more times before he could even react. He would have been overwhelmed if it hadn't been for his new set of armor. The attacks bounced harmlessly off his back and upper arms, he would be certain to thank Tyr if he survived this temple.
The Champion's opponent looked unphased with the uselessness of his attacks, in fact it only seemed to make the fiend more determined. Jorkahn was not about to let that determination go unrewarded. His gift? Hopefully an axe to the face. The warrior glanced quickly over at Allyria just in time to see her foot pierced by her opponent. It seemed as if she was injured elsewhere, too. This only steeled the half-breed further. Their opponents must die. Jorkahn felt a rush of energy fill his body and swung out three times at the brawler's neck and head. Hopefully, his armor would keep him alive through it all. This opponent didn't seem like one to fight defensively.

The cultist that attacked Allyria had no idea what was about to happen to him despite his slasher's smile and immediate successes. When he spotted the palm of her hand come towards him he merely chuckled at the opportunity to get another clean hit in. Then his face, skull, eyes, and brain were all blasted onto the wall behind him by no less than seven magical razor sharp shards. His headless body slammed into the floor, and blood pooled underneath him. Jorkahn also gained immediate success by way of his axe meeting the brawler that had attacked him directly in the throat. He cut the wind pipe and had hewn open most of the neck, leaving the blood nowhere to go but up and out. It ran like a river down the cultist's front, dying everything a rich dark red. The body then clattered to the floor, and even jerked a few times as his nerve endings fired out the last vestiges of life. His bloodlust was slaked, perhaps a bit too literally. The evil being's blood spilt from his neck and covered the Champion and his weapon. Jorkahn fought the urge to spit on the corpse of his enemy and took a deep breath to calm himself down. His emotions had been erratic lately, more-so than usual. The young man took some time to look back at Allyria in order to make sure she was alright. Lo and behold the Countess had dispatched of her charge with extreme prejudice. It was a rather gruesome sight that initially delighted the half-breed. A look of horror soon flashed upon his face when he realized what he was thinking.
After taking a small moment to recover the lad gave his companion a thumbs up to indicate he was fine and ready to continue. If they ran into something more formidable perhaps he would run back to regroup, but for now, this place was only making him more confident in his abilities. Unfortunately, it was also making him less confident in his mental state. Jorkahn picked up his spoils and stowed them away before continuing down the hallway.
He would try not to be ambushed this time around.

Allyria gave Jorkahn the "I'm Ok" sign as well once she had finished with her enemy. Of course there was the matter of cleanliness. Bits of badness got all over her! There was skull, and there was brain, and there was the flesh and it was all gross. She wiped herself off, and then checked her wounds. The hole in her hand was small, as was the hole in her foot. In fact, the wounds didn't seem to be much more than a light ouchie. As if a feline had scratched her. She was not happy about it, but she wasn't going to write home to mom. Since there wasn't much else to do, she cast a healing spell on herself to make sure the wounds healed without chance of infection. She willed the wellspring powers to wash over her foot and hand until they were completely whole. Then without wasting anymore time, she scooped up her spoils and proceeded onwards into the direction she had been going in before, this time being a bit more cautious.

The Acolyte CellsJorkahn would continue down his path unhindered. Eventually it would become apparent that he was running out of hallway, and that the path had turned to his right. Each cell was as derelict and spartan as the last. It seemed that those that lived here were indeed entirely devoted to whatever religion they followed. There were three cells left for him to investigate beyond that right turn. He would however, see that it is a dead end. Allyria would spot a figure that was the same as the others they had fought thus far on her left two meters away once she had reached the end of her hallway, the cultist was busy making his bed, and had not detected her. Jorkahn looked down at his amulet just before turning the corner towards the last three cells. Things had been going much better than just a bit earlier, all things considered. Though the young man was itching to fight some more, a large part of him was also happy not risking his neck around a group of people who likely wanted to drink his blood. He didn't see any indication from his amulet that enemies were nearby, so he decided to confirm visually.
The half-breed would peek his head around the corner and give what he could see a quick twice over. If the coast was clear the Champion would slowly and carefully walk down the rest of the hallway, combing through the cells for any potential threats or useful items. This place really gave him the creeps so, like always, he kept his weapon ready just in case.

Sensing the opportunity to strike at the brawler before he could react, Allyria rushed him with her scythe. The first attack was a sweeping slash at the cultist's legs meant to rip them from him and disable him permanently. Following that strike, she slashed at the enemy warrior's neck, aiming to decapitate him. If that had failed her final follow up attack was a resounding overhand swing at the warrior's head, meaning to cave the skull in and splatter everything inside everywhere.
She was showing no mercy towards these vile cultists. The horror stories she had heard about this temple were enough to behave in such a manner. Not to mention the terrible things that she had seen thus far, like the tortured remains of an innocent in the confessional. She had taken these affronts personally. It was not something she meant to do.

Allyria's surprise attack combo caught the Brawler for the old gods off guard. The cultist turned at the last moment, seeing the shadows shifting in the room. Then his legs were swept out from under him by the scythe. The force of the weapon coupled with the magical effect of the Aftershocks enchantment left his lower legs mangled beyond repair. Then the blade came down at his neck, severing his head from his body. There was no further action necessary on Allyria's part. Jorkahn would discover that his amulet offered a faint glow, but there were no enemies to be seen in the hallway. He did find another cultist facing his bed, making it in the last cell. He had mere heartbeats before the cultist turned around.

The amulet gave off a slight glow indicating an enemy was nearby. Because he couldn't see anyone in the hall it meant the enemy was likely in one of the cells. When Jorkahn reached the last one lo and behold a cultist was finishing making his bed. It was a curious sight to see, someone so vile being so considerate to how their bed looked. However, the warrior wouldn't have much time to think about it as the cultist began to turn around. With one quick motion Jorkahn bounded forward and threw his axe up into the air. In the next motion, the Champion's feet would hit the ground and his weapon would come down in an attempt to cleave the cultist's head in twain. He would follow up with two more attacks, one towards his enemy's should and the other to his chest.
The Half-breed hoped he had reacted in time.

Allyria picked through the coins and the potion that the cultist had been carrying. She wanted nothing else, she had plenty of samples to work with for study. Once she was done looking she turned around and started to head back towards the common room they had happened upon. There were more doors there that they had yet to explore. She would arrive shortly without any disturbances or obstacles in her way. She was, however, ready to continue fighting if necessary. Once she would arrive in the commonroom, if Jorkahn was not yet back, she'd move the enemy bodies to a corner and sit at the table with her eyes on all the doors. She did not want to be caught unawares like these mooks had been.

Jorkahn's sneak attack on the cultist was successful. The first attack cracked open its head, then the second strike removed it from the body wholly. There was no time to react for the cultist. He was dead, his body fell to the floor with a wet slap. Blood poured out of the body and pooled inside the cell and flowed into the hallway. His gear was up for grabs, as was his money and potion.

Jorkahn spat at the body of the cultist he had just slaughtered. Bending down, the half-breed gathered the spoils of war. When he was finished he stared at the body for a few seconds, watching the blood pool on the floor. The darkness in him was coming to the surface. The boy was debating on leaving a message with the body but, eventually, his reasoning broke through. He was disgusted with himself. Though these people were demonstrably quite evil, they were still human beings. Jorkahn breathed a soundless sigh and cleaned his axe before making his way back towards Allyria.
He reached the common room and walked up to Allyria. The Champion was covered in blood and looked noticeably upset. Jorkahn took one last look around the room and then looked over his companion to make sure she was alright. Noticing nothing of import he pointed at the doors then looked expectantly at the countess. He was waiting for her go.

The Common Room
Now there were only two unsearched areas branching off from the common room. The first was in the northeast corner of the room, a single solid looking door was there. It was shut and seemed to give off a sense of rarely being entered. The second area was the hallway on the southside of the common room. Down that hallway were three more doors. Two on the east side of it, and one at the very end. The two on the east side were first: Two meters in, and then: Five more meters in. The hallway was thirteen meters long and two meters wide.
