The Bloody Start From the south came the army. Two thousand Skaldi against a bare handful of defenders for the city. Rosterford was under attack. Karvan the Devourer led them. The Skaldi Resistance Front was finally attempting to take meaningful territory. The swamps of the Brakish pits had afforded the Skaldi Resistance Front a certain amount of protection. They could easily move through those swamps without being detected by their enemies in the SKC. The same went for Eastern Skaraptica. Rosterford was a prize however. It was a walled city surrounded by arable land. Taking control of it would force the SKC to take them seriously. It would also force the Royal Justean Guard and the Republic of Cruinthe to consider them as a powerful potential ally. Already they had been used by the Royal Justean Guard to secure the southern border crossing into Hek'Cruica. That did not mean they had entered into an exclusive alliance. Karvan ordered his troops to attack that warm night in Heultrios, 200ATD. Event InformationThe city of Rosterford is under attack by the Skaldi Resistance Front. -Every turn, the city loses more defenders, and the Skaldi get deeper into the cities districts. Rosterford has several strong defensive points throughout the city. These points can be defended by a handful of troops easily. Event Type:Hold OutThe cities defenders must hold onto the strong points for more than 10 turns each. Succeeding in this will end the first day of the siege in a victory of the SKC, and a failure for the Skaldi Resistance Front. Rewards-The Governor of Rosterford and the City Mayor of Rosterford are willing to pay 10,000R to anyone that can successfully rally their forces to a victory. (This will be split if there's more than one player character successful on this side) -Karvan the Devourer will grant a great gift to the fighter that successfully kills all of the city's defenders.

Main South Gate # of Breaches: 1
A hole opened up in the wall of the south gate. The portcullis remained secure. Before the dust even settled three Skaldi Resistance Fighters entered the gatehouse. They immediately engaged the SKC troops that were present. Three men went down immediately. Another footman managed to take on a flurry of blows from his attackers, his armor and shield taking the brunt of the damage. He was cut up, but could continue fighting. Then the counter assault from the defenders occurred. With three men down they numbered seventy one. Their sheer numbers overwhelmed the three Skaldi. They went down under a wall of blades and spearheads. More Skaldi came into the breach, another three.

South East Tower # of Breaches 1
Through the tower's only door came ten Skaldi as it flew off its hinges. They laid waste to everything that stood before them, killing as many and as often as they could. In that time, they managed to take down twelve men. Retaliation was immediate, the defenders rallied, their number cut from seventy four to sixty two. Much like the main south gate, their numbers overwhelmed the foes that breached into their hard point. Blood splashed the walls as the fighting went on. After a while, the ten Skaldi had been slain. Just as the last one went down, more poured in through the door. Three more.

Rosterford Castle # of Breaches 1
Things had been quiet in the castle up until the skaldi managed to break down the front door. They came in killing anyone that stood in their way. Fighting began immediately. Two men went down in the immediate chaos, three more in the fighting. It took the remaining troops to kill the six skaldi that had managed to break through. As the bodies piled up, five more Resistance Fighters moved into the castle, attempting to take it.

Forgeworks # of Breaches 1
The forgeworks were a vast and open area. Piles of weapons were everywhere. The troops that had garrisoned there knew they would have a had time defending their location. The din of fighting outside reached the inside when a Skaldi threw himself through a large window, creating a hole for his companions to come through. They immediately attacked what defenders they encountered, carving a path as far as they could. They were met with little initial success, only killing one of the men they encountered, and wounding the other. The defenders backup arrived, and the skaldi put up a token effort to fight them off. They were not successful in defending themselves. Their blood was everywhere.

Western Fort # of Breaches 1
Six skaldi managed to clamber over the Fortress' walls. They tore through seven men during the immediate fighting. Those defenders comrades managed to attack the Skaldi back and kill them before they could take any more lives. It was a hard fight however. The men were already tired from the effort.

Main South Gate # of Breaches: 1 2
The three Skaldi managed to tear apart another four men as they came through the breach. They were of course overwhelming moments later. There were plenty of other Skaldi to take the fallen's place. A full ten more smashed through the other side of the gate. They had used a steel tipped battering ram. The sound of it striking against the walls had been drowned out by men screaming. Once they had broken through, bloodshed began immediately. Seventeen more defenders went down in those moments before the Skaldi troops inside the main gate were defeated.

South East Tower # of Breaches 1
The three skaldi in the south east tower tore through more troops. They managed to only kill three defenders. But they had bought more time for more of their troops to come through the breach they had made. Seven more Skaldi came into the tower after the three had made their way in. Ten more defenders went down before the Skaldi fell.

Rosterford Castle
Five Skaldi had broken into the castle, and they managed to butcher six more men. The sixty four defenders that were left made short work of the Skaldi, surrounding and cutting their throats. Three more of the Skaldi came through the breach and killed three more soldiers. Blood slaked the walls of the castle. It ran down the sides and started to pool on the floor. Skaldi and human blood. The sixty one defenders managed to hold off the three new Skaldi, and kill them before any more reinforcements could arrive.

Forgeworks
The defenders in the forgeworks were being overwhelmed. Seven of Karvan the Devourer's Skaldi had come after the intial breaching troops. Those Skaldi had failed miserably. These seven had killed nine men before the defenders could rally and take them down. The hotblooded resistance fighters were sworn to bring freedom to their people. The stalwart defenders were sworn to defend their city.

Western Fort
The climbing Skaldi tore into the defenders immediately after gaining the wall of the western fort. They tore through sixteen men before the defenders could gather in sufficient numbers to form a shield wall. One on one, a man fighting a Skaldi would die. Their armor meant nothing on the small battlements. It was only in the Bailey that they stood a chance, and only fighting as a an infantry square, or surrounding the Skaldi. Holding off the enemy was all they could do. They held the ten Skaldi off, they all died after receiving numerous wounds. The defenders managed to hold it together.

Main South Gate # of Breaches: 2
A total of fourteen Skaldi came in through the breach in the main south gate. They took down nearly twice their number in local defenders before they were defeated. The gate had seemed to be lost now. Morale among the defenders was breaking. The remaining eighty percent of the troops fled their posts leaving six brave men to defend the main south gate.
Defender Losses: 24 Skaldi Losses: 14
South East Tower # of Breaches: 2
Eleven more Skaldi came into the southeast tower. Six through the original breach in the defenses, and five more through a new hole in the wall created by one Skaldi in particular. He wore bone armor, and carried a massive hammer made from the bones of a forest strider. Nineteen men went down before they managed to rout their attackers. The Skaldi warrior with the hammer was cut down by the remaining defenders after being surrounded. His weaker allies had been dispatched already. Eighteen men tried to flee, only to be cut down by the Skaldi. The battle had not gone well for those men, they died from cowardice. Only twelve defenders remained.

Rosterford Castle # of Breaches 1
Four more Skaldi broke into the castle. They slaughtered one and a half times their number before being brought down by their enemies. The defenders of Rosterford Castle were made of harder stuff than their comrades out in the city. None of them fled.

Forgeworks # of Breaches 2
Another breach opened up in the Forgeworks defenses. More Skaldi poured through into the complex. Twenty one men fell before the thirteen Skaldi that had stolen their way in had been cornered individually and killed. Morale had broken, and all of the remaining defenders fled the Forgeworks.

Western Fort
More Skaldi climbed over the wall, and with them they brought death. The revolutionaries killed as many men as possible. Karvan had committed twice the number of troops to take the fortress, its defensive value was great, and his need was great. He would need a place like this if the SKC attempted to take back the city. He had already believed victory was his. He moved more troops into the city.
Defenders Lost: All remaining. -Conquered by Skaldi Resistance Front.

With little to no leadership, the defenders of Rosterford began to bend and break under the might of the Skaldi resistance army. Soon men began to lay down their arms and not even fight their reptilian foes. Karvan took mercy on those soldiers, and put them out of the city so that they may flee and tell the world of the might of the Skaldi. After the nearly two thousand Skaldi soldiers had taken the city, the coming days were filled with Skaldi flocking from all over to it. The sounds of construction would fill the air as they'd turn the township and the old ruined city into a fully walled city over the coming weeks. Many structures would be replaced with Skaldi architecture, save the old Cruinthian forts and forgeworks. Those were to be refurbished.
Karvan had his capitol now, he named his territory New Skaldira.
