The first city at which Levi had come to reside was Hillsfar, just beyond Korasus. With no money, he was forced to live in the streets. He witnessed the atrocities that men committed against themselves and drokagr alike. He learned that it wasn't just his drokagr kin who were treated unjustly, he soon witnessed that there were many humans who were destitute and treated as unjustly as were the drokagr. Apparently he wasn't the only one to see it, so when Valara requested that he aid her in feeding the poor of Hillsfar, he accepted the offer of his fellow Drokagr. It was also a nice opportunity to at least have company with whom he could converse. So it passed on the first day, he poured out the slop that passed as food, the initiative didn't have the funds to provide rich meals, but it was sustenance that the recipients may otherwise not of had or would of had to steal. He was somewhat useless for the lunch rush as he couldn't really make out what he was doing, the blazing sun blinding him, but when the evening came the sun having set, he was once more able to see and it was then that he truly began to witness who he was feeding.
All manner of folk pass through the line, some he doubted really needed the offering, but were taking advantage of their generosity. Others looked on the brink of death from exposure and starvation. It was especially hard for him to witness drokagr who were elderly and dying, how could they isolate themselves such that they would age to that point? This was not just a failure of the humans of Cruinthe, things like that were failures of his own people. That evening gave him much to consider about the state of the world he lived in, the way that people treated eachother. It was rare to find kindness in the world, he himself rarely offered it, surely there was something he could do? Surely there was some way beyond just handing out food in which he could enact change? These thoughts occupied his mind as he drifted to sleep, it was odd to sleep with the stars out, this was normally his active time, but he felt a certain pull to serve the poor of this city, at least for a little while. And while he loved the night, to most human's night was time to sleep.
