Khamat brushed away a clump of dirt on his shoulder, brushing off as much of the dust and debris that he could which had gathered on him over the course of his travelling. While he had travelled a lot with the Flametongues it was usually only in short bursts where they would soon settle down again, this had been the first time that he had travelled such a long distance and although it hadn't put to much of a strain on him he had encountered complications which he hadn't foreseen.
One was their sleeping, they hadn't brought tents with them as they would take to long to set up and be far to conspicuous due to their Skaldi size, instead they had slept rough each night. It was bearable, but of course not as comfortable as having a proper tent, nor did it afford any sort of protection from the wind or cold which both Skaldi would have appreciated.
Tocgar trudged behind Khamat, looking worse for wear from the travelling, not having the pure unrelenting willpower that Khamat did and instead running out of energy and will to keep going now, eventhough he knew that they were so close to where they were supposed to be going.
The two Skaldi stood on the edge of the southern marshes, having heard that this is where the second tribe lived, yet unsure how exactly to find them. They had travelled a rather long time and even if they wouldn't openly admit it the sooner they got to their destination the bettter, the problem being that they didn't actually know where their precise destination was, only having a rough idea that it was somewhere in this swamp.
Tocgar looked onwards at the swamp and gave a loud sigh that sounded more like a growl than anything, "How do we find them in here?" He asked Khamat, keeping his voice low incase someone was listening. The chieftain stood silent for a few moments, looking into the swamp and seeing all of the potential for dangers. "We don't, they'll find us if they want to, stay close to me." Was the only warning he gave Tocgar before his large feet took the first step into the marshes, Khamat's eyes searching for danger and his claws outstretched in case the need should arise to use them.

Assuming Khamat was approaching from the north he would have another forty miles or more to cover until they were in the heart of the marshlands. Which was where the Shadowscales could be considered to be basing themselves. Over such hard terrain like the marshes, it would take probably three times as long to actually get to the center of the marshes. They were looking at another week of travel. Another long, stupid, week of suffering through the marshes, where there were huge snakes, piranhas, river serpents, and other ugly creatures willing to take a bite out of them.
If they survived they'd have some explaining to do to the Skaldi Resistance Front. The flametongues were reduced to two? How the hell did that happen? Was Khamat that bad at holding the confidence of his fellow Skaldi? If so, Karvan would not be likely to help him. Why waste the resources?
This may be the toughest challenge yet for the Skaldi.
I literally have nothing else until you actually head deep into the marshes.

And so the two continued, not entirely sure where they were going for the majority of their journey. Seeing that there'd been nothing at the edge they headed in deeper, taking the idea that it would be stupid for a resistance front to sit at the edge of a marsh, they'd probably bury themselves deep within the marsh where it would be a lot harder for them to be found, and unfortunately this would hinder Khamat and Tocgar rather a lot.
"What a time to not be an Aquatic, possible poisons everywhere" Tocgar grumbled, treading carefully through the marshy waters alongside Khamat, the water coming up to just under his knees at some points, envious of Khamat who strode through the marsh with the water barely covering his giant scaly ankles. Tocgar followed behind his chief, standing in the shadow that headed and protected their tribe, at the same time in awe of his hulking figure and afraid of him. The one thing that did stick out to the smaller Skaldi was that their leader wasn't exactly well equipped, he had no weapons nor armour on him, and while his claws did look rather vicious it probably would have been better if he'd gotten some sort of weapon along the way at least. At thought Tocgar shuffled closer to Khamat, realising they were in the middle of an unknown swamp where all sorts of weird and dangerous animals could be, they could be attacked at any moment.
Khamat strode on confidently, uncaring of the possibility of an attack, confident as he was he didn't like the idea that anything could prove an issue to the two Skaldi, of course conveniently forgetting that both times he'd been in a fight recently he had either won by the tiniest amount or lost horribly.
The two Skaldi continued walking onwards deeper into the swamp, and would continue doing so until they found the Shadowscale camp, either that or something that would disrupt their journey happened.

The pair were being watched by a pair of beady little crocodile eyes. Which popped out of the water and blended in with the brackish water. The eyes were practically invisible among the backdrop of the swamp. Soon, those two eyes weren't the only ones on the pair of intruders. That's what they were. Despite being skaldi, they were intruders to those that resided in the swamps.
-The pair are now being watched.-

Khamat and Tocgar carried on at their steady pace, seeking to pass through the swamp as fast as they could. Tocgar at this point was more than paranoid, and would most likely be shivering if Khamat weren't around, he didn't want to make a bad impression, he was already trying to redeem himself in one way, another he could not handle.
Due to the size of the two each stride was larger than a humans and so they generally covered more ground, although still occasionally they had to unwrap the meagre food and water that they had brought as they walked to eat and drink, not wanting to waste time by sitting. It was a danger to stop, they had no idea what was safe to sit on or whether they could stand in a certain place without falling through the muck, walking was a better plan, plus they would get to their target quicker.
Khamat wondered at what sort of reception they would receive from their cousins down south, he had yet to meet any of them having not taken over control of the Flametongues not long ago. For a moment he wondered what the reaction would be to his presence at all, for surely they would have known the old Chieftain and some could be annoyed at his death. But then he reconciled himself with the image of him crushing any potential challengers to the ground, yes they might be a bigger tribe than his own, but surely their warriors could not be that much better as they lived in the swamps away from human intervention whereas the Flametongues moved around and faced constant attacks from humans.
"It might be best to keep an eye out, we don't know what's here." -Tocgar
"A little bit of serpent flesh might be nice amongst all this water and hard meat" Replied, his vicious teeth peeking out from his mouth as he gave an evil smile. Even so though he kept vigilant, looking around for any sign of ambush, a lot of time spent as the hunted, hiding from humans had given him an almost sixth sense for danger, that and he knew the importance of watching his own back.

Nothing had changed since they started walking through the swamps on their way to find the Skaldi Resistance Front. However, night had begun to fall. And the bugs that had been hiding from the heat, were now out in swarms.
Weather change, in 1 turn. -Nightfall (Visibility reduced 85%, no moons, stars only)
