Yumi opened one eye at a time, first her left, then her right. She was... In a bedroom? That felt weird, she hadn't woken up in one of those for absolutely ages; she had a bad tendency to open her eyes and be somewhere she really didn't want to be. She recalled once hanging from a tree by a bit of rope around her leg, which had been weird and hurt her head. But this time she was sat on top of a bed, still fully clothed and the covers weren't drawn back, it was all so very surreal.
"Ugh. This is a rarity"
She kicked one leg after the other off the bed, allowing them to stretch a little before she stood up, allowing her loose clothing to sag a little. Looking around her she spotted a window and a chair, how very nice. Her first call of action was of course, no doubt about it, to sit on the chair and cross her legs, trying to make herself seem posh and sophisticated, even pretending to have a little pipe thingy hanging out her mouth. After her small amount of entertainment was over she looked out the window onto a nice looking area with a few basic buildings about and nothing else, cool.
She opened said windows and looked down, noticing that she was on the ground floor and so could quite easily climb out and leave the building.
A few minutes later Yumi stood in the middle of the street, humming a song and daydreaming about... Cats apparently. She smiled and began skipping down the street without a care in the world.

Arthurius strolled down the streets, he was only here for a few nights, a rest stop if that's what you'd call it. He was between travels, gathering herbs was deceptively hard work although most who have never done it would try to convince you of it's ease.
It took lots of moving around, at different levels, diving inside bushes and lifting up large rocks to finally get at the amazing bounty that was the herbs he would be trying to gather. It was hard work most definitely but it was rewarding at the end of the day, he now had a small collection of ingredients that he could use for his alchemical creations.
Arthurius now was just looking for somewhere to stay more than anything, somewhere where he could have a decent night's sleep that didn't involve being huddled under the thickest bush he could find in the pouring rain.

The cat meowed and flew around with it's rainbow spewing wings, which Yumi swiftly followed down the street, arms outstretched to try and catch it. Neither of them were moving exactly fast and so she wasn't getting as worn out as she might usually get from running. It was a weird sensation, because it was taking her a while to realise she'd been following the cat for around about an hour, visible by the fact it had gone from bright to slightly darker, which anyone could have guessed. She smiled at the cat and waved it goodbye as it flew into the clouds.
"Anyone got somewhere I can stayyyyyyy?"
She announced her question to everyone nearby, hoping somebody nearby would rent her a room or take her somewhere nice to stay, instead of forcing her to sleep on a stray bed of hay, or an unsuspecting homeless person, who surprisingly usually didn't mind. It surprised her that she couldn't be bothered to actually look around for people, and instead kept looking at the floor in her odd clothes (in comparison) and odd nature about her. She usually wasn't interested in talking to people but she needed to find somewhere so she was going to make an exception.

Emmeryn Gastiwr had always felt there was something of a shortage of truly bizarre characters in the world.
What with most people being on the poor side, fighting to make even the slightest living (by her experience at least) at lot of people were all doom and gloom, so it was truly rare to meet a genuinely strange person. Emm considered herself one of these. Despite being in her mid-twenties she still behaved in a manner that society as a whole would expect of a young child, messing around and constantly full of energy, and having a passion for tricking others in minor ways. Emm was fairly confident that she was one of the strangest people in the world. At least, until she turned a corner while walking down an alley in a nondescript town only to almost literally run into a person who put Emm's own strangeness to shame.
This woman was utterly bizarre from outward appearances. Her hair? Bizarre, from it's unnaturally light colouration. Her expression? More vacant than the mind of a fish. Her clothes? Emm had never seen such an unusual collection of coloured cloths in her entire life. Emm felt it was almost mandatory for her to get to know some one this blatantly weird. She raised her right hand, offering a big grin.
"Hi, you look weird. I'm Emm, Wanna be friends?" She proclaimed simply and with purpose, with her usual high talking speed and energy.

Yumi stopped spinning and took notice of the quite cute girl in front of her. Maybe not as cute as herself, but she couldn't say for sure, she tended to break most the mirrors she had, mainly out of dropping them then out of anything else though. The girl was grinning like a pun telling lizard (from ear to ear), unlike a grumpy mermaid she was pretty sure she'd met some time, and so she grabbed the girls outstretched hand and shook it vigorously:
"You too my fine lady! I am in fact crazy and you look like you have a spear made out of hair on your head... I like it! Let's be best friends"
With that she danced around like it was some weird sort of tribes dance which would curse people or something. She realised that would be pretty cool, but the chances of it happening were minimal of course. She still liked the idea, and suggested this quite quickly:
"Think I could dance someone to death??"

Emm's eyebrows had shot up almost as soon as the stranger had opened her mouth.
She was as strange as she had imagined and then some. Finally, someone close to Emm's energy level. Still not quite there, she talked too slowly for that, but what she lacked in speed she more than made up for in uniqueness of character. The idea of dancing someone to death certainly was intriguing. Emm would have to give it some thought. In the meantime, she made note of how quickly she had reached the friendzone with the woman without even knowing her name.
"Danced to death? Interesting, doesn't seem possible, but I guess it would depend on the moves you used, anyway, it's late, I was looking for somewhere to stay, and I think I heard you say the same just now before I turned the corner, great, let's get looking, but before that, what's your name?" Emm must have set a new record. Every syllable out and enunciated properly, even when spoken at the speed of sound.

The woman was crazy and smart, next she'd be saying she could fly and become a unicorn! Yumi giggled a little and stuck her tongue out, running a little ahead as if to try and get the girl to follow:
"Why names first? We could spend a whole night together and not know each others names! I'm pretty sure I heard cases of that before... Anyway... My names Yumi! You can called me Yumi for short or maybe Queen of the Underworld although apparently I'm not allowed to say that because people get scared I'll eat them but I'm no cannibal!"
She waved her arms about, not really paying attention to the world around her and focusing on the sunny woman before her. She felt like she might know her somehow, but couldn't put her finger on it:
"I don't know you... But I do. What a strange feeling stranger! Let's not be strangers so what's your name?"
She hadn't really paused in her speech as of yet and didn't plan to. She was in a good mood and might even get fed something by the delightful young woman too! She leant in close to the girls face and tilted her head waiting for a reply.

Emm ran off hot on the heels of this new friend.
Her mind seemed chock full of so many strange and conflicting thoughts that Emm's name had already slipped her mind despite it only being mere moments since her introduction. But as the chase immediately ground to a premature halt, Emm found that this person, this Yumi, had no grasp of the idea of personal space. So, taking a small step backwards, she repeated her introduction.
"I said just now, did you forget? Anyway, I'm Emmeryn Gastiwr, with no 'e' between the 'w' and the 'r', strangely enough, but hey, that's how it is." She stopped and took a few breaths. She hadn't spoken this much in a chain for a while. It was exhausting at this kind of speed. She reached out and placed her right hand on Yumi's shoulder. "Let's get looking for an inn or something, but I don't have much money."

Yumi looked at the Emberfin Glassloin, she couldn't quite think of how she'd remember it, so she decided a nickname was in order:
"Etherwing Tyrejoint, a wonderful name, but you're going to be called... Err... Emm. Done! And don't worry, I don't have much money anyways, so lets go find somewhere!"
This friendship looked at it would be going places, especially as there was currently a hand on her shoulder. She couldn't quite tell what gender people she was interested in but it was worth a shot asking exactly what was going through the spear wearing girls head, more than what was on top of it:
"Are you trying to chat me up? I'm not sure if I'm interested yet but lets go with it!"
She supposed the hand on shoulder was some sort of ritual from where the energetic girl was from, and so she also placed a hand on her shoulder and did an attempt at a cute noise and smiled like she would never smile again (although she would):
"Wait... We're not married now are we?"

Suddenly concerned, Emm removed her hand from Yumi's shoulder and took a slow step back to open the space between them. Things were moving on far too quickly. Not that Emm had much experience, but she would've thought you needed to know someone a little before exchanging vows. She raised both hands in some kind of mock surrender, waving them around a bit.
"I hope not, I'm nowhere close to ready for any commitment like that."
She needed something to do, so her hands went to the piece of thread tying her hair up, pulling it closer to her head and tightening it. Her hands dropped to her sides, and this new lack of movement prompted her to start frantically tapping her right foot. Her thoughts whizzed around what to do next, before she quickly decided and darted past Yumi out into the main street. Pausing for a moment, she turned one hundred and eighty degrees or there about so that she was back facing Yumi.
"I'm looking for an inn, tag along if you like."
Wasting no time, she turned back around and proceeded out and along the road at a light jog. Looking from left to right, she took note of how much nicer the buildings were than the ones she'd grown up around. This town had had her enraptured from the moment she'd arrived. To think, people could live in places like this! When she had money, she would too, as well as her Dad. Seeing an inn type building on the right, she made a turn and slowed to a jog as she walked in through the main door.

Yumi pouted a little. It had been worth a shot!
"Wait up!"
She sprinted after the girl, already realising that she would be an energetic friend to have. Despite being a healthy and fit young girl, she couldn't quite keep up with the hyper lady who seeked refuge in an inn. Eventually they arrived at a building and Emm entered, and the white haired one followed, expecting something cool to happen.
"Oh, we need a room person!"
She shouted to a random person who seemed a little bit like he would own the place. He looked around confused and then pointed towards another man who looked at her and smiled, welcoming them in.
"You? Alrightey well we need a room!"

This Yumi character really had a habit of making no sense. Emm was almost missing the security of mundanity.
So, while Yumi was busy with one of the random patrons of the inn, Emm decided to consult the owner about the room. The inn itself had a fairly interesting design, with stairs in one corner that lead up to the floor above which seemed to mainly be a balcony with doors leading to the rooms. Her quick sweep of the place over, she approached the bar to talk with the owner. He was currently mopping down a glass. Emm was about to speak up when she remembered she probably couldn't afford to stay here. She looked back to Yumi and went to walk up to her, but as she did an orange cat jumped from the floor above , using Emm's head as a springboard and landing on the floor, continuing out of the door. All it was missing was an explosion behind the cat as it left.
"Oi!" She called after the cat, not really caring that it probably would pay no mind to her.

Yumi watched as Emm walked about a bit, and that was when she spotted the cat. She had a habit of chasing cats wherever she went, and this one was especially cute, with a little pink nose and small ears. She just wanted to squish it and cuddle it.
"Kitty!"
She proceeded to forget everything that she had previously been doing and ran after the cat that was fleeing the scene. It looked like she'd end up sleeping somewhere random again, but that didn't bother her too much, she was enjoying herself after all. It had taken her a long time to get used to sleeping outdoors after having lived in a posh house for so long, but now she didn't even notice, not that she noticed much before.
"Wait!"
She kept running after the cat, off into the sunset which would soon by moonrise

Emm watched as Yumi bolted from the room after the cat, then rushed out after her as she realised that she needed her to sort out the room. She looked left and right, but it looked like she was already gone. Emm sighed, and trudged down the road to her left. Looked like she was sleeping outside again.
She shuffled her way into an alley and settled with her back against the wall, removing her coat and bundling it up behind her head, then removing the string from her hair and allowing it to collapse around her face and insulate her ears slightly. It was a bit chilly in just her thin dress, but a pillow was important in sleep. Warmth was important too, though, so she began to consider ways to generate heat. Unfortunately her lessons in the use of magic had progressed slowly and she'd never reached the level of creating fire from nothing. She could manipulate the fire once it was there though. No fire handy though.
Oh well, she thought as she closed her eyes. She wondered about where she would go next for a good few minutes before managing to achieve sleep.
