The remainder of the Alliance offered training was taking place in Korasus. That and he needed to buy a few items from there anyway, just a few bits and pieces that nowhere local to him sold that he knew he could get very easily back home. The issue however was the fact that between himself and his own home were over 300 miles of land, a lot of which was controlled by various factions that he didn't overly want to come into contact with. Of course that wasn't including the myriad of beasts and creatures that he could encounter along the way if he was unlucky, as well as bandits or other not so friendly humans. All in all it would be a long and potentially dangerous journey for him to return to Korasus, a place that he was hesitant about going back to anyway.
Transportation wasn't so much the problem, it was more te fact that he wasn't sure he actually wanted to go back, he'd left the colony for a reason and did he really want to open old wounds by going back. Not that it would be a social visit, he intended to learn what he could, buy what he needed and then get out of there as quick as was physically possible, prefereably before anyone that he might know saw him. Another part that made him stop was the fact that as soon as he stepped back into the colony he'd be second to the women once again, he'd had relative freedom out in Cruinthe, so long as you didn't count the fact that the government had declared his race should be purged. But he was in a place where that threat didn't really carry and so he was relatively safe to live without much interferement from others, yet once he stepped back into Korasus he'd be subject to the rules of his kind.
This was an argument that went back and forth in his mind for several days while he worked before finally he made a decision, he wouldn't let that idea stop him. He would go back to the colony and learn what he could, he knew he'd be looked down upon by each instructor and by most else as he tried, but try he would.
Now for transport, he owned no horse, nor land dragon or anything similar, and no way was he making that sort of journey on foot. What he was willing to try however was a planar transport, theoretically he could open a gateway from here to the spectral realm and travel through there, hopefully with far less trouble. It was theory of course, he'd never tried it before, but his previous experiments with planar magic had been successful, and he had great plans for the future if he could harness his energy to it's fullest extent, this was just a hurdle he'd have to jump.
Kell reached out into the wellspring energy about him and focussed energy from his own pool into his extended forefinger, drawing it down and watching the very air part behind his finger, his entire being focussed on this one action to ensure he didn't screw up.

The Spectral Realm Passing into the spectral realm was not easy on the body or mind. It would feel like being dragged between two mountains going in the opposite direction, one on fire, the other cold as the void. The gate would spit the young half-drokgr out, face down onto a broken floor of a familiar place. The room looked almost the same as the one he had been in moments before. Only it looked far older, and twisted. Like the place had been set on fire many times and snuffed out. The columns weren't straight like they were before, they twisted upwards. In fact all vertical structures twisted in a sort of way, reaching towards something beyond. Outside he'd find the forests gone. Nothing was left behind but stalks of burned out trees, ruined and bereft of life. Smoke filled the air, and the wind swirled around like water shaken and trapped in a container. It was hot, incredibly hot. In the distance, Kell would be able to see massive pieces of land floating above the ground, miles above ground level, or inches. It was different everywhere. There was no life to speak of anywhere. Fires burst into being, and snuffed out as quickly as they came, with no rhyme or reason at all.

The pain nearly broke him, the young Drokagr could feel his very self beign ripped apart by the transfer over to the spectral realm. Ice and fire buffeted him, neither cancelling out the other each simply bringing more and more pain till he was sure he was dying. When he was spat out eventually it was onto a far older version of his own floor, pulling himself up from his prone position Kell began to examine his surroundings, his head was too groggy to make sense of most of it and his vision too blurry to see much.
It took him several minutes to regain his senses properly, and when he did he was shocked even more. It was as if he was in a time where some sort of war had ravaged his lands, at least that was the appearance that the spectral realm was giving so far, nothing was as it should be and everything seemed twisted. Land was floating about, just pieces of land floating in the air in the distance, pieces of different sizes and of varying heights not on the ground where they should be but rather floating away.
Hot. Hot was the first word he could think of, the whole place seemed trying to boil him alive, fires burst randomly into being, how he was even still alive he didn't really know. Now that he was actually here he wasn't sure what he was to do, it didn't seem as if journeying along here would be any better than going through the normal, but he was here now and he didn't so much fancy going back through that amount of pain.
But which way was it that he was supposed to go, he'd lost his bearings in the crushing pain of entering the realm, Kell sat on the floor for a moment and tried to regain his bearings.

Kell was unsure what it was exactly that was throwing him off, but for some reason he just couldn't seem to get his bearings here, whether it was some sort of spectral energy that was stopping him from doing so or the simple fact that he was quite bad at taking his bearings normally. Either way however he was struggling to gain an idea of which way he needed to head in order to get to somewhere that would line up with Korasus, a main issue with that was the fact that he didn't know where exactly in the spectral realm lined up with Korasus for when he did try to exit.
For now all he could do was walk in the direction of where approximately Korasus would be normally in relation to his home county, as much as he knew it was just north east, he'd not travelled up that way since he'd first arrived at his new home. He was quite confused however so whether the direction he was travelling actually was north east he couldn't tell, he was just walking in what he assumed was a north easternly direction.
The young half-Drokagr looked down and saw that without even realising he'd done it one hand was sat on the pommel of his blade, he was incredibly on edge from this unknown land and the hazards it could hold, more so than he'd even realised till this point. Nothing he'd seen so far indicated that there was anything hostile here so why he was so on edge was a mystery, although he concluded it was likely just due to his lack of knowledge on this place.

From the ground everything looked exactly the same, it was just burnt ground, random flames and floating rocks. He had no hope of figuring out the right direction from here, if he was correct then so long as he moved in the right general direction then when he eventually left he would be in the right place, but for that he first had to figure out what the right direction was. As things stood he was just walking in what he thought looked like the right way even when everything seemed the same.
Kell focussed for several seconds and poured wellspring energy from his pool, forming it into a shield in front of him which he then took a step onto. He'd moved a shield before, now was the time to see if he could do the same with himself on it, if he could then he would be able to get a much better view from above. It was quite nerve-wracking at first, moving the shield he'd created slowly higher into the air, he'd been worried about keeping his balance but it seemed that his feet were anchored to the shield as he moved which was handy. The ascent went quite quickly and soon he was quite high up, high enough to see as far as his eyes could in any direction.
It was an interesting idea and had worked well enough, it might not be the sturdiest of platforms but it meant that he could move up like this, he imagined it would also likely be quite useful in other situations, who needs to climb up and over something when you can float over it on a platform. There were plenty of applications for something like this, plus if he got into any trouble he was basically safe so long as they didn't have ranged weaponry, or wings, a winged creature could still cause him a lot of trouble.

He was up high now, as high as he dared go, he had no real idea how high it was possible to go within this realm so for all he knew it could be endlessly high and he'd just continue going on and on. For now he'd stop at what he felt was high enough that he had a decent look at the lands around him, it all seemed spontaneous fire and twisted landscapes as far as he could see, it seemed near pointless for him to have come so high when all he could see around him was basically the same things.
The large land masses were tempting, even if only because they offered something he'd never seen before. It would be interesting to see if they were stable, they seemed so but if he could stand on one and have a decent amount of ground to work with then he could take his time rather than having to expend his wellspring energy on this platform he was currently using. It wasn't that it was particularly taxing just that if he didn't have to think about it even minutely then he could maybe figure out what way he was supposed to be going.
So saying, Kell floated his platform over to the highest of the landmasses that he could spot and stepped off onto the solid ground, although whether or not it could be counted as solid ground was another question considering the fact it was quite high up in the air. Either way he was on it though, and it seemed to hold. The young half-Drokagr took several tentative steps and a small vertical jump to test the ground before surmising it seemed stable enough and dissipating his moving platform. From here he could have a look around from a better vantage point and hopefully figure out which way he's going.

He still had very little clue where to go, he must have gotten turned around or something on his way in, that or the fact that nothing looked particularly similar enough to what he remembered from his own realm that he could reliably use it as a marker to travel by. Even the most general idea of simply travelling in the right general direction didn't really seem to be paying off as he had no waypoints to guide it by to check that he was going in the right general direction, and he wouldn't know he was going wrong until he hit something that definitely wasn't supposed to be there. His travelling direction currently was entirely up to chance, although he hoped chance would lead him the right way.
Kell created his platform and once again lowered himself to the floor, there was no point travelling in the air and fraying at his concentration, the drain on his energy was replaced faster than it ould be taken and so that wasn't the concern, simply he didn't want to have to focus on more than he had to. Instead he opted for the age old transportation of walking, he had enough rations to keep himselves going for a while and the dragonfruit would likely provide sufficient amountf of water, if worst came to worst he could always attempt to cross over again and go from there.
For now however he was going to explore this route to Korasus, he was here already after all and nothing seemed particularly dangerous, only weird, so he might as well walk from here. It was a long ass journey on foot in his normal realm, assuming that the distance travelled here was the same as there he had a lot of walking to do in order to get there. A lot of walking in.....this direction?

He seemed to have gotten some sort of bearing, the path he was looking triggered some sort of memory that made him at least think it was possible he was going the right way. Whether or not he actually was however was another matter entirely, but at least he felt slightly more confident in his travelling now, even if his hand still was stuck to the grip of his sword. There was no reason for it to be there, he'd seen not even a single trace of anything hostile, and yet still he couldn't bring himself to let go of his weapon for fear that the minute he did would be the time some horrible creature chose to jump out at him.
Kell walked at an even pace, taking breaks every few hours to sit and if needed eat some fruit, taking special care not to let any of the juices go to waste, they were after all the only liquids he had and he had no plans to dehydrate and potentially die here. His stores wouldn't last forever but they'd last him long enough to at least decide whether he should rip a gate and go back, it was always an option in tee back of his mind and it'd likely be the one he chose to take if he discovered anything particularly troublesome. Luckily trouble hadn't found him yet, but it was likely to turn up as it always did, he was like a trouble magnet
And until that trouble came Kell would continue to walk in the way of Korasus, he was a lot more certain now that hte path he was travelling would in fact get him there eventually, it was more of a gut feeling coupled with a few markers he was fairly convinced meant he was going the right way. It wasn't much to go on but Kell felt a lot more confident, that and the fact that he had not much of an idea what else he could do, so keeping moving seemed the right way to go, and even better if he kept moving in the right direction.

At this point Kell was attacked by a monster beyond his mind's comprehension. It passed through him, and he felt his mind sapped of power, his equipment lost, his skills erased, from his person and mind. As he'd turn back to see what it was that assaulted him before he fell into a portal he hadn't noticed before, he'd find it was a shadow of himself. Some cackling darkness that had attacked him and brought him low. Perhaps it was just a figment of his imagination. Hopefully he'd never see it again.
As he plunged through the portal he'd probably brace himself.
He'd blackout as he passed through it, and would awake in his manor in Nelara, like it was all a bad dream. But he'd know it was real. What it did to him was real.
