Luckily Innorsford seemed to have quite a few different training opportunities on currently. It seemed that also alongside the camping course there was one on first aid, it didn't appear to be especially long and Kell figured that it'd probably be quite a worthwhile thing to learn. Knowing how his luck usually worked out he'd likely injure himself at some point so learning some basic first aid was probably in his best interests. It was only a basic course but he figured that was likely all that he would need, if he felt like delving further into it then he could find more out later, but he had access to his own doctors and such so it was unlikely he would need more than rudimentary knowledge.
"First off we are going to talk about your basic cuts and scrapes. Something small like skinning a knee you just need to clean it off and man up, if it gets much bigger than that then you need to start being more careful."
The comment on manning up caught him off a bit, it was likely a cruican term and definitely one he hadn't heard which puzzled the half-Drokagr, he'd have to ask Kevin about it later.
"The most important thing for any sort of open wound is to keep it clean. Crap starts getting in it then you run the risk of an infection and then potentially a slow painful death. No one wants that, so first off if you or someone else is injured the first thing to do is clean it. If you have the know how there's certain herbs that will lessen chance of infectin or drive one off, but the hope is you won't need them. For you guys I would just say wash it out if you can and remove any mud or crap from the wound, if you don't have water use the cleanest cloth you can find. Once you've cleaned out the wound cover it with something to prevent crap getting back in. A bandage is the best but if you don't have one on hand a strip of torn cloth will work. Try not to move about too much or you'll bleed more, if you can get the wound elevated then good, but it's not too big of a deal if you can't. If it keeps bleeding then apply pressure and hope for the best. This is only basic stuff so I'm not expecting miracles but at tooohe very least now you hopefully won't die the minute you get a small cut."
It seemed to make sense, just clean out any wounds the best you can with what you've got and then cover it up with what you can, up till now he'd just had a couple of potions he'd bought to deal with any problems, bandages and the like would probably also be useful. He added it to the rapidly growing mental note of things he would need to requisition from Kevin when he got home.
