Home. Home was a hand built shack sitting in the foothills of the Kushfire mountains, situated right at the southern tip of the accompanying woods. It was nothing to write home about, but better than nothing. A large straw stuffed sack made a bed, wooden boxes for storage of things. There was foraged food to keep him alive, and water from the Tesiak sitting in large clay pots. Life wasn't the easiest thing, but that's what you get when you move away from the Darthaks with nothing.
Karigho woke in his small shack and rolled off the scratchy bed, walking outside to relieve himself. Privacy was an almost given, nobody lived within miles of him and travelers were few. Without a road you'd have to be out exploring randomly in order to happen upon him.
When your life centered around what you could accomplish for other people all of your downtime was focused on expanding that list. Every day started with the same chores, things to help build a core set of abilities. First up was a jog by dawn-light. While still a decent exercise it was mainly meditative at this point. Karigho knew the area well enough to almost run it blind, and after years of running it only really qualified as a warm-up.
Running! Light jog, well known terrain. Simple (30) + Agi (10) = DC 40.

And yet it took longer than it should have plus it winded him a little. That wasn't good news, was he that far out of shape? Well, now was the best time to learn that. Wouldn't be a good thing to find out in the middle of chasing someone, Karigho needed to maintain the reputation of completing whatever job he was given. If it meant pushing himself harder then so be it. Returning to his shack to complete the run the merc took a running jump at the structure, grabbing the lip of the roof to haul himself up and over.
Jumping/leaping? and climbing! Easy (15) + Str (10) = DC 25.
Slamming straight into the side wall of the shack wasn't quite what he had planned, and it didn't make him any happier with the start of this training session. Time to up his game apparently, the things he should be able to do easily weren't happening at all. Dropping from his hold Karigho breathed off the impact and took to running again. The recent exertion started to burn in his lungs but he kept going, even picked up the pace. Off he went, running towards the plains then back to the shack.
Running! Faster job, easily known terrain. Simple (30) + Agi (10) = DC 40
That lap went a lot better. Limbered up from the earlier exercise Karigho made it around the area in quick time, and before he knew it the shack was in sight again. Slightly more confident than before, and with a better running start, the mercenary attempted another jump and climb maneuver.
Jump/leap? and climb with a better running start. Simple (30) + Str (10) = DC 40.
Turns out a better running start just means you run into the wall even faster. That really wasn't working out in his favor, maybe a standing climb would work better. It wasn't like the roof was that far away, the shack was only a little taller than Karigho himself. A regular jump brought his arms over the lip of it. After dusting himself off some, and getting his breath back, Karigho instead tried a non-running jump and climb. At least this way if, and when, he failed there would only be a short way to fall and not a headlong impact with a wooden wall.
Going with a simple jump/climb combo because it should be, even if he sucks at things right now. Simple (30) + Str (10) = DC 40
Hah! Take that wall, you've been conquered. This was good, it meant progress and that was something he desperately needed right now. If he kept it up maybe eventually he wouldn't even have to go through the first two impacts before actually making it up. Now of course he had to get down and wouldn't that just be fun. It would probably just be easiest to step off the roof and fall, but in the interest of not falling yet again this time it would be a reverse climb. Not that there was much climbing, it was more of a sit down, shimmy off, and then drop, but hey we do what we can.
Climbing down. Simple (30) + Str (10) = DC 40. Please don't fuck this up Karigho.
I don't know what I expected, but it wasn't that.
Face met dirt once more and the man lay there a moment, wallowing in just how bad he was at climbing around on a small wooden shack. To think he used to live in the Darthaks, where climbing around on giant ice-covered rock formations was a thing necessary to survival.·····
