Rocks shifted as he moved, unfortunately as many plans as he'd made on how to step and where to go the rocks didn't seem to be cooperating with them particularly well. They rolled, rattled and slid away from him as he tried to move across them as carefully as he could, luckily he'd not tripped or had his feet caught in any of the gaps yet but still he didn't seem to be making much progress anyway. If anything he'd gone backwards from where he'd intended to, ending up going back to the left rather than making any progress forward, it seemed as though he was going to have to plan much better now that he had an idea of how the rocks moved in order to be able to go where he wanted.
Kell froze for a second, sure that some of the rocks were moving in ways that they shouldn't, he'd distorted the loose stone underfoot with his movements but not to the extent that they would have moved that much stone. It was possible that it was simply an effect of the high concentration of dark energies in this place, after all he had no idea what effect such energies would have on even inert matter such as volcanic rock, he had no real knowledge of the dark arts beyond the tales that most would hear of it's power. Still, he'd be watching especially when he moved, if things were going to be moving unexpectedly then he needed to make sure he didn't trap his foot due to unexpected holes appearing.

Sliding Rocks!
Again, Kell had a hard time keeping the rocks underfoot. He moved backwards one foot towards the southeast. This time he didn't see any rocks move in an unnatural manner.

Whatever it was that he had thought he'd sene move was likely just a trick of the light, a byproduct of his imagination in a place that was rumoured to be drawing close to the planes of darkness and an easier conduit for it's denizens. Still he'd keep an eye out, trick of the eye or not in that particular instance he didn't really know what to expect at this phase in his expedition, he was expecting to face some dark creatures at some point in his journey as that was his aim for coming up here. It was just a matter of finding them, and ensuring that he didn't get surprised by them in a manner similar to his former encounters with the crows both in his own county and in the Haunted Farm. This time he was there to do some damage back to the beasts as well and remove them and the threat they presented to those as unfortunate as he had been in the past.
Still not counting the dark beasts that could be lurking about the very rocks seemed to be fighting against him and ushering him from the mountain. As he waded through them they slid and moved in ways that did not help the cause at all, ending up with him headed backwards yet another foot from where he was intending to go. The whole endeavour really was quite annoying, he'd made very little progress and was beginning to feel the exertion in his legs from all of the difficult rock wading he had been doing

Rocks Sliding!
Kell slides another eight feet backwards. He doesn't notice anything at all. Other than the rocks sliding under his feet.
