Alcandor walked through the woods heading towards the field, he had one thing on his mind and he had a reason for this trip unlike others where he would wonder aimlessly to come through forests. It had been a while since he found it, it took a while for him to realise what it was and he had only learnt one thing he could do with his new found power. The power seemed to give him control back over himself and make him feel complete. Like he was normal and not an outcast for once, but Alcandor, deep down knew he was.
He walked out into the field and had a quick look around him. It wasn't the best of days but there was some blue left in the sky of grey. He wondered back to what would of happened if he would of found out about this power back when he was a slave to master. Would he have been treated better or maybe cast away. Alcandor quickly cast the thought away. That part of his life was over. That once upon a time, the light was gone and it was over. He had a new life now and had to live it to its fullest.
As he walked a bit more into the field Alcandor took his hands out and closed his eyes focusing his mind. He focused on making a small square shield in front of him. Alcandor brought his hands back towards his chest, breathed in and quickly while opening his eyes threw his hands out in front of him like he was throwing his heart out of his chest hoping to make a small square of a shield appear in front of him

From Alcandor's hands a small yellow rectangle shapped shield forms. Alcandor tried to keep his focus and could see the yellow colour start at dim and as it starts to get darker Alcandor suddenly lost his focus on his magic. All in all though he could class that as an success. He had came far and hoped that one day he could make it to be able to take an hit from something.

"Podrick where are weeeee" Devin moaned towards his companion, slumping his shoulders and dragging his feet through the grass as if the simple act of walking were more difficult and energy consuming for him than running a twelve league assault course with boulders strapped to his body, which of course it wasn't it was just Devin being annoying.
The smaller yet thicker boy at his side studied a piece of partially bleached brown paper that he held in his hands as if it would fall apart at the merest suggestion of strength from him, which from a good look at it was most likely true, it being threadbare and faded to the point where it would be difficult for most to tell what it was actually supposed to be. "Well according to this map we're either in the verenaild plains or just south of the Darthaks. Given that I think we are in the south I think we're in the Verenaild plains." Unfortunately enough for him studying the map and walking appeared to be to much for him and a slight encounter with some loose earth hidden within the grass meant that Podrick was very quickly sitting in the grass with a piece of map in each hand where once there had been a whole, emitting a shriek that surely only animals would be able to hear about being attacked.
Devin's head whipped around just in time to see Podrick hit the floor and he was stuck partway between laughing at Podrick having fallen prey to a simple piece of loose earth and rage at the fact that in doing so he'd broken the only map that the two had been able to get their hands on. Quickly the decision was almost made for him as Podrick began rolling about on the floor still genuinely thinking it was an attack that had done it and not him simply falling, how could Devin not laugh at this. Within seconds he was on the floor also, albeit with him laughing so hard he couldn't breathe rather than being under attack by an imaginary enemy.
Once both had recovered Devin wrapped an arm around his companion's shoulders and ribbed him mercilessly about it, that was until something else caught his eye. Someone had come out of the forest and stopped in the clearing, not just any someone though that wouldn't have been nearly as interesting. That someone just happened to be a lizard, well a sort of lizard, a Skaldi to be more precise but Devin's head hadn't gotten further than ooooh look something fun. "LIZAARDDDD" He shouted, extending an arm and pointing directly at it, unable to make out what it was doing from this distance but sure that it'd be interesting, it was a giant walking talking lizard after all.

Alcandor cleared his mind. He had to think about the magic and making it stronger. He recomposed himself and stood still for a couple seconds and closed his eyes. He started to imagine making a shield in front of him. A large tall and wide yellow shield that he would be able to pull from within and be able cast in front of himself. He brought his hands up to his chest like before and after a moment he suddenly pushed his hands in front of himself.

As Alcandor did this a yellow magic ball came from his hands but as soon as it appeared it had disappeared. Alcandor was not too disappointed but he wasn't happy. Alcandor took a deep breath after that try trying to think what had been different in his two trys to change the outcome, but his thoughts were stopped by the shouting of an unfamiliar figure and his partner. "LIZAARDDDD". Alcandor quickly snapped round to see the new arrivals and stood frozen on the spot. He hadn't seen people for a while. Let alone spoke to someone, the people may be in trouble. All kinds of thoughts crossed his mind and in the end Alcandor decided to walk a little towards the new arrivals but waited around 10 foot closer than where he was before to see what the new arrivals would do. "Hello, who are you?" He called out.

"Wow that's a lizard, Podrick it speaks, look it speaks" Devin said, closing the distance between them with great speed and was probably uncomfortably close to it, unfortunately in his near childlike excitement he wasn't really considering this and was much more interested in the Skaldi in front of him, he'd never seen one in real life up close before. "I-i-it can talk, it's a S-Skaldi." Podrick shyly, trying to hide himself behind Devin for fear of the giant scaley sharp toothed lizard in front of them which he found quite intimidating.
What had shocked Podric even more was the fact that he'd seen the light that had come from it's hands, and if it was what he'd thought it was then this wasn't just any Skaldi, it was a Skaldi that could use magic. Skaldi in themselves were rare enough outside of slavery, with magic also this one was even rarer so. It was also illegal to practice magic within Cruinthe, although whether or not that applied to Skaldi also he wasn't to sure.
While Podrick was considering this unfortunately Devin was just constantly poking the Skaldi in random places and making joyful sounds that wouldn't be all that out of place coming from a younger schoolgirl seeing her faourite musician.

Alcandor looked towards the newcomers as they came towards him. Alcandor towered above the newcomers and he could tell that one of them was obviously very excitable to see an skaldi. Alcandor relaxed a bit guessing that these two were not here to hurt him.
Alcandor watched as one of the humans ran around him poking him in different places. It was strange as the humans looked to not be children, but young adults. One looked to be well built but still nothing compared to himself while the other appeared to be a little feminine. He wasn't sure what to think about them, but being himself he didn't want to judge and let the human have his fun as he guessed they were both kind hearted and didn't mean harm to him.
Alcandor watched the human running round him making girly sounds and laughed to himself in his deep but soft voice. Then he looked up towards the other human standing there watching him. "Morning to you good sir, I'm Alcandor. How do you do?" He didn't want to be rude and wanted to make a good start with these humans. Maybe they could be companions for a while.
