Appearance:
A lean figure and umber skin frame the young man's dark visage. His head is shaved on both sides leaving a thick strip which terminates in a long tightly-braided tail that wanders between his shoulders. Ikram carries himself with confidence, and his stride confides impatience to the viewer. His bare face is thin, but round with youth at the edges. His lips draw thinly into a partial scowl, and his sharp nose flares irritably. His eyes are drawn low by furrowed brow; upon the right of which he carries a small scar—they seem as hidden copper disks, reflecting the sun.
Personality:
Ikram is a driven young man of muddied blood. He is the only son of a dispossessed Cruinthian merchant-noble who vies for power and control at the sake of his family. Since youth, Ikram has witnessed and abhorred the mechanisms of courtly intrigues—with age, however, he has learned enough to know when to be silent. The young son has a deep, unabiding rage for his miserly father, and those in positions of power which is seated alongside his dispassionate arrogance when comparing himself to those of lesser birth. Despite this, Ikram's very genealogy is the subject of ridicule for being muddled and lost to the sands of time. The skin of his family, from his mother's side, is an oddity in Cruinthe. He is oft mistaken for Half-Korgath.
History:
Ikram was second-born child to a stagnant legacy. His father, Alcob was a miserly merchant. Through the might of his wealth, he founded a small bid into the aristocracy, entering into the Cruinthian Court. By then Ikram had been just newborn, and his elder sister toddling. Before Ikram's earliest memories however, his older sibling would be removed by some force of which neither of his parents would ever speak.
Alcob had high expectations for his son, and so invested greatly in the boy's future. The boy; however, would woefully fail to live up to these expectations. Where Alcob had hoped to produce a shrewd merchant like himself, Ikram found a passion for displays of athleticism and strength. Learning for the boy would ever be difficult.
Ikram's father found him useless in the ways that he had hoped he would excel, and so found little common-ground with the youth. He could, despite this, find another use for his only son. In the summer of 198 ATD, Ikram's future would be tied with young Astris Tadwicke, the eldest surviving member of her father's noble lineage—her father's first beloved wife was unfortunately infertile.
At the end of 199 ATD, they'd wed to unfortunate news. Neither Astris' family (unwealthy and unwilling to part with Astris' immense brideprice) nor Ikram's would fund the newlywed's coffers, and they were given the possession of a dilapidated manor in Southern Sorath. Alcob, in a confrontation, told his son that he would simply "Have to make due, for now."
