So there she was, her goods had been delivered and she was in a decent sized workshop provided by her benefactor. She wanted some practice before she set out to make her own clothes, while the ones she was wearing had turned out well, implementing the gold thread into the clothing design was going to take a bit more finesse, a bit more precision with her needlework. She had the seen the campaigns for clothes and other things for provision to the poor. She had also had her eyes assaulted by their horrendous appearance. She could take this opportunity to both get some practice and perhaps, just perhaps make the world a more beautiful place.
She laid out a few bolts of cotton and began cutting away, a specific design in mind. It would be modest, but at the same time it would be appealing, a perfect balance that would be her contribution to the impoverished in morith. A snip here, a stitch there, and before she knew it, her design was coming together quite nicely... or was it?

No it was not, To her dismay the design she had in mind did not manifest itself in the cloth she had been working with. She tried to salvage it, but the cloth was just too far gone. She tossed the wasted cloth to the side, grabbing two more bolts and starting over. She tried to take more care, she tried to make her cuts more precise, she tried modifying the design so it was more practical, she didn't know if it would be enough, or if it would even turn out as fashionable as she hoped, but she had plenty of cloth, didn't she? No need to fret over wasted materials at this point.
Her failure taunted her from the corner in which she had thrown it. A jest at her skill, surely she was better than this, the very clothes she was wearing were testament to her ability. Perhaps she had just been in a rush, she only had two days to work her magic and while this would help her in the longrun she wasn't sure she would have the time in the end to finish the things she wanted to make for herself. Finished, now lets take a look at how it turned out.

HEEEEYYYY! It turned out quite wonderfully, a nice dress that was practical and fashionable. It wouldn't make them that much more appealing, she would need silk to pull that off, but for what it was made with, it was quite snazzy. Her confidence boosted once more, she set out to repeat her success. Two more bolts of cotton were put on the chopping block, they were snipped and shaped, and sewed and all the other things that happen to a piece of cloth whenever someone uses it to make clothing. The fact that she had accomplished this in a relatively short amount of time was a feat in and of itself. Those vagrants were no longer going to a blight to the scenery in this city, at least for a few of them.
In sewing these dresses her ideas were coming together for her own clothing that she would wear when she left on her adventure. The cloth balls that were making the buttons would be replaced with gold and gems. The edges would be embroidered with golden thread creating a certain weave that might allow the clothing to better hold her enchantments. But that was not what she was working on now, and if she didn't focus on what she was working on, it would turn out more like the first attempt than the second.

It turned out even better than the first, more precision to the stitching, she felt that she had really learned something in the making of that dress, things she would allow her to make better things in the future. She had the time to make at least one more such dress before she started on her own equipment. The design she was using wasn't complicated, but it was flattering. It allowed her to turn out dresses such as this rather quickly. Two more bolts went on the table, and once more the snipping and cutting and sewing and pinning commenced.
After this she would really need to get started on her other projects if she hoped to finish them before they were scheduled to leave. Thankfully cotton was quite simple to work with, although it was still possible to screw up her design. She glared at the heap of wasted cotton in the corner. Suddenly she was no longer content to have exiled her failure to the corner. She grabbed the cotton and tossed it onto the coals of the forge where it soon ignited, creating no small amount of smoke. She coughed a bit from being to close to the burning cotton, satisfied that her failure was annihilated. She promptly returned to her work finishing up what she hoped would be the final dress.

The dresses complete, she figured she had wasted enough time, and had practiced enough that she would have a better chance at making the clothes that she was working out the design for in her mind. Still there was the matter of delivering them to the drokagr lady she had seen soliciting for such donations. She was still new to the city, so finding her way back to where she had seen the drokagr was no small feat, but eventually she made it. She handed off the dresses to the drokagr, "Here, perhaps these can help solve the problem with the vagrants, turning them into more of decorations instead of the eyesores they currently represent in the city."
With that she walked away, confident that she had helped make the world a better place. She had neither the time nor the desire to converse with the drokagr woman. Any representative of the slums was quite beneath her, even though she presently wasn't so far above them as she thought. The task done, she began to focus her attention entirely on the designs that were playing through her mind, judging the merits of each before judging it unworthy of being brought into existence.
