Nadera is lucky in that she looks much like a fully-blooded elf. Her platinum hair, and blue eyes fit well into elkagr society. She likes to wear her long hair high, and out of the way of her crafting. She is pale from spending much time inside, as she knows this also hides the race of elkagr she is better than being in the sun that would turn her skin a telling tan.
Personality: To say Nadera is selective in her company is phrasing it kindly. She rather only likes to be around those answering directly to her (for a time), or those equal (elkagr)to her. Nadera is pleasant to the extent of not being outwardly rude to anyone, but the line between pleasant and rude is easy to cross. Nadera cares mostly for the physical and material parts of the world, she is obsessed with glamor and everything having the right aesthetic appeal. It's a way in to her graces if one has a technique or anything she deems 'beautiful'. She enjoys the topic of fashion, gossip, elkagr culture, and the arts of summoning. Nadera is surprisingly eager to get her hands dirty, which is surprising in contrast to her vain nature. She has always believed a job done best, is a job done yourself. She's very hands on when it comes to expeditions to retrieve jewels, or materials for her clothing. Or anything that interest her will guarantee her direct, and undivided attention.
History: Nadera was born, believing she was a full elkagr, and lived a life in that style. But the truth was much further from that. Her mother had married out of simple need, and fell for a human. Her father always slightly suspected this, but did nothing out of pride. The life of a Plains Elf was already hard enough, and harder still was being forced to live in Cruinthe with the humans. Her father ran a shop in Fordeth making Jewelry, and other fine wears more specifically for the Elkagr representatives that visited the city and the nation as a whole. It made the Elkagr happier to have gifts given by another Elkagr. Being in a position of high esteem granted the family favors.
Though the family was not of noble elf origin, they found favor in the right families. When Nadera came of age, and to obvious magical talent she was free from being forced into the academy of the SKC. At a cost, it was quite a sum to support her schooling back in the hub of Elkagr society. During this time her mother left the household, without more than a word.
Scandal reached her father (part of his wife leaving and half his money taken), and sent his business reeling. He used up his savings in supporting Nadera's schooling. With her also costs of trying to get her into better society. Nadera knew little of this, save for when she returned home. Rather than just leaving her father, she tried to pick up on his business. She found it oddly fulfilling, working with her hands. Even as the the business failed, Nadera kept trying. Keeping the business just a float enough to save face. Even though business sank further into debt.
