Confused on where she was, Sho ran through empty allys and around corners as water from the sky pelted down on her hide. She wanted very desperately to find a safe spot to hide, but it was later in the evening and everything seemed to be shut up and closed to her. Lifting her arms over her head, she tried her best to shield herself from the onslaught of the angered sky though it didn't do much to stop it.
"Why mad!?" She tried to question it to no avail, 'It's a natural thing, just try finding somewhere safe and dry to sleep tonight' Sho could barely understand what the soft voice inside her head was trying to get her to do through the beating rain as it only got worse. There were a few niches and corners she tried to cram herself in to, but her sheer height alone made it impossible.
Wanting to hurry and find a safe place before any possible ice or stronger winds started to make her day any more horrible, Sho increased her speed and started to fail to look ahead of her to see if there were other people in her path. If she did trip over anyone, hopefully they wouldn't be too upset.
This is a teaching thread where Ulric teaches Sho Literacy I

And of course being the unlucky bastard that he was, Ulric was there and right in the path of the rampaging Skaldi.
Ulric himself was looking for somewhere dry to spend the night, he was having problems with money as was normal and so was instead walking the streets with a large brown cloak, that looked as if it could fit several men, held up over his head to block out the worst of the rain. It was hell, there were nights when it was bad to be unable to afford an inn and then there were nights when it was terrible. Rain, snow, hail and the like usually constituted one of those terrible nights.
Muttering curses under his breath Ulric squinted, looking through the sheets of rain to try and spot some sort of semi-dry spot, maybe if he was really lucky he could find a crate or bin that he could upturn, if not then he could always try and hang up his cape to form a makeshift shelter of sorts.
And then it hit him. Literally.
Out of the rain came a large shape, barrelling towards him at rather high speed leaving Ulric no time to dodge it, they collided heavily and Ulric feared he came out of it worse as he went flying backwards several metres and landed with his bottom in a puddle, soaking through his trousers and boots as well as scratching up his arms and legs where he had hit the ground.
"Look where you're going." Ulric said with a slightly angered tone, while he was a good natured guy everyone had their limits, and being outside on a rainy night such as this soaked to the bone and lying in a puddle was past Ulric's.
It was at that moment though that he looked up and actually saw what had run into him. No way was that a human.A giant Skaldi instead was in front of Ulric, it's yellow and red scales and tremendous size and natural ferocity stunning the mage for a minute before he began to scramble backwards and away from the fearsome beast. How had one got into Morith, he had thought the guards would have kept it out. All he could hope right now was that he wasn't it's dinner.

Tumbling slightly, Sho managed to keep her footing after running straight into something, 'Someone' the voice corrected her as she squinted her eyes through the rain to see a smaller moving bulk of cloth on the ground. Needless to say, it didn't seem too happy to run into her, or rather, her run into it. Shaking herself off just to be instantly covered in rain again, she swiped at her eyes then put a hand over them to see better as she approached the figure.
The first thing she noticed was that this creature had on some sort of jacket she had seen others with on cold or rainy days but his was outrageously large for such a small creature. Sure, she had seen smaller things that looked like him, but he was a good couple feet shorter than herself. 'It must have hurt when you ran into him.' "No, Ssssho fine, thank you." She responded out loud to the voice. 'Him.' "Ooooh"
Walking up more slowly, Sho hunched over the figure, trying to at least block out some of the rain for him since she knocked him over. "Sssho ssssorry, not looking. You okay?" It was difficult, but she was slowly doing better with her cruic language, even if she still couldn't say her S's without hissing yet. "No hurt? Why in sky water?"

The hulking Skaldi towered over him, enhancing it's already terrifying image, one of Ulric's hands slipped to a throwing knife in the back of his belt, holding it there should the creature choose to attack him. He didn't know of it's motives, only that it had come barrelling out of the rain at him, this was one of the few times when he had truly felt fear, the claws and teeth on this one could rend him limb from limb in seconds if it wished.
"I'm f..f..fine.." He replied, surprised that it could speak fairly decent Cruic, knowing that not many Skaldi could from his education, Skaldi were slaves was what he had been taught of them, they made good slaves and were heavily treated as the inferior to people, Drokagr and Elkagr alike.
He puzzled slightly over the second part of what it said. Sky water? It must mean the rain surely, water coming from the sky, when he thought about it he realised it was fairly self-explanatory. Of course this then lead him to realise he was still butt down in the water, causing him to rocket up and out of it and put on the cloak that he had been holding over him, a dull brown thing that looked as if it could fit even the Skaldi in front of him with a fair amount of space to spare.
Regaining his wits Ulric fought down the primal panic at the sight of the Skaldi, not allowing his hand to leave the throwing knife in his belt as a precaution. "I'm fine thank you" He said, not really knowing what else there was that could be said to a Skaldi, it wasn't as if he could just suddenly pop out and ask it about it's day or anything was it.

Glad to hear that the male was alright, Sho gave what she considered a friendly, toothy grin. As frightening as she might look, she really didn't mean the guy any harm. To her, he was just another one of the strange creatures that walked around like her but without scales. Which was actually for the better considering she had a bad tendency to assault anything that looked like her, including her own reflection.
Watching him bolt up, she stumbled back as well, just as surprised as him when she ran him over. Tripping over her own tail she flailed her arms before falling down next, effectively switching places with him. Blinking a few times, she tilted her head up slightly to see him through the rain. At least she was still a good three to four feet tall sitting so there wasn't too much rain slamming directly into her face from looking up. What she saw made her start up a hissy laughter.
The poor male didn't seem to realize he had on a piece of clothing that was far, far to big for him. Holding onto her sides as she continued to laugh, she slowly got back onto her feet, leaning over so she was able to observe him better without towering over him. "Coa-Coat big for sssmaller creature!
Unable to keep her claws to herself and with no sense of personal space, Sho steps closer to the male, picking at his sleeve as she tried to calm her laughter, "Have Sssho wear cloth, both be dry!" Of course she was only kidding, but then the more she thought about it, the better the idea appealed to her considering she was looking for a somewhere warm and dry, perhaps she could stick the coat up between an alley to keep the rain out then make a fire with various burnable things others have thrown away. Ending up trying to grab and tug on one of the guy's arms, she tried to get him to follow her, "Come, come!" she said excitedly, "Come make warm place to rest!"

So their positions were reversed, even if it did make very little difference. Upon him standing, the Skaldi stumbled back and landed down on the floor, even if while it was on the floor it was still practically his size. All this did was make Ulric slightly more confused at what was happening, why had she stumbled over exactly it didn't seem as if she'd tripped on anything and it looked almost as if she had been surprised, how could a giant Skaldi like that be surprised by him.
And then it started hissing at him, even if the hisses vaguely resembled laughter it was rather concerning for him to hear this hissing sound coming from a Skaldi and so he hesitantly took a step backwards, wondering if this would be the time to run. It seemed though as if right now the Skaldi had no malicious intent, it probably could have killed him and eaten half of his body by now in the time since he had gone running into it.
And then it started leaning over him, still laughing, Ulric still unsure how exactly this was going to end, and you couldn't really blame him with the way that most Skaldi were presented as vicious creatures.
And it spoke again, this time saying something about his cloak, pulling at his sleeve slightly and saying about..Sho?...being dry, so it seemed the Skaldi was called Sho then. It then seemed to get even more excitable, pulling him to follow it as it set off, Ulric unable to resist it's pull, it seemed the Skaldi wanted to use his coat to make a warm place to rest somehow....
