Torin, with Thalia's assistance, began making his way around Mardok, asking anyone they came across if they knew of a doctor or healer in the area. Torin's leg still jutted at about a thirty degree angle about halfway between his ankle and his knee, the wound was black and he had lost feeling in that part of his leg. He wasn't sure what could be done, he wouldn't know until he found someone who could possibly take care of it. A task that seemed quite difficult right now, hopping along on one foot, his mutilated leg dangling below while he used his new friend to keep balance.
No one seemed to know of a healer in the duchy, he was becoming quite depressed, defeated even. Near the middle of the city he began to cry out quite loudly, "DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO FIX A BROKEN LEG?!?"[/b] He cried out this inquiry several times before he asked Thalia to help him take a seat. "We'll find someone, surely a place like this can't be this prosperous without someone ta treat the sick and injured."
"I don't know, maybe they've just been lucky, or perhaps they just ignore the sick and dying to make way for progress. Whatever the reason, it seems that I've rather run out of luck. You should go with your family, I can stay here. Perhaps I'll make a better beggar than I did woodsman." He chuckled, trying to make light of his situation, at least for Thalia's sake. She seemed almost as distraught as he, and the look on her face hurt him almost as much as his leg had. She didn't seem convinced.

Arthurius moved about the Mardok duchy, he'd already visited the duke and the workshop space that he now occupied in the duke's artificery, he was still surprised that he'd so easily got a place in the workshop and without even asking or even having had the intention to ask about working there. It was rather interesting as it meant that he now had a solid base of operations which he could work from. He now just needed materials and equipment to get himself properly moving about, it was unlikely he'd manage that task particularly quickly though as it could take him some time to gather this all together.
He could hear a man shouting, what he was saying Arthurius couldn't hear properly but it sounded as if the man were in pain, Arthurius rounded the corner and saw the man, his leg jutting out at an unnatural angle and a woman trying and quite obviously failing to help him. The man laughed, why was he laughing considering how badly hurt his leg was, surely he should be crying more like.
"I might be able to help you with that if you like, I have some knowledge of healing the sick or injured" he was slightly rusty but no one else seemed as if they were going to try and help so he figured that he was the best bet this stranger had. Arthurius didn't know the man but his shouts were loud and he was quite partial to the duke of these lands so he would help one of the duke's citizens as a favour to him.

Just as Torin was rather giving up as the struggle to find help seemed to be doing more damage to him and his companion than they cared to admit, a familiar face walked up.
"I might be able to help you with that if you like, I have some knowledge of healing the sick or injured"
This guy was kind of all over the place, gathering herbs and fruit and then trying to mix them up for whatever type of concoction, and now he had medical experience too. Quite the skilled individual, and Torin was quite glad he was here now. "Ah, you again. I broke my leg over a week ago, everyone was afraid to do anything to it, it was crooked and swollen, and now it is rather numb. Is there anything you can do for it?"
"He had a fever a few days ago, and we thought he was going to die, he came out of it though." Thalia chimed in adding her input. The two looked rather longingly at Arthurius, hoping he would know what to do.

Arthurius quickly examined the situation, the leg seemed to be rather badly damaged, moreso than it had appeared at his first glance. It may even have been beyond his incredibly limited skills, but that wasn't something that his now patient needed to know.
"I have some knowledge of healing and helping others, although I know not if I can help you here I will be willing to try."
Arthurious took a hold of the injured leg, trying to keep it as still as he could to stop the patients pain, the leg was broken and was badly out of position right now, if it were to mend currently it would mend rather badly and could possibly even be unusable. "I suggest you clamp your teeth or something"
Arthurius wrenched the leg, attempting to put it back into the position that it should be in, hoping he wouldn't cause any other damage to his patient.

It seemed that he may have pulled the leg to far to one side as it was now wrenched in the other direction, hopefully neither of them would notice that he had done anything particularly wrong as they didn't seem to have any medical knowledge. He smiled as if pleased of himself whilst he examined certain parts of the leg. He had a feeling this was going to go horribly.

Torin had made quite the effort in not moving his legs for the past ten days, and while there had been a pronounced numbness in his leg, what Arthurius did to his leg left him with a profound pain shooting up his leg. His mind turned to the dark curses Teacher had taught him, screaming them out in his mind as he merely cried out in agony externally.

The shadows around Torin warped and writhed with the influence of his dark curses. His leg wasn't any straighter than it had been and now the shadows were bent and warped to match. Thankfully the day was bright so the shadows were sparse, and the influence did not extend far. Torin was too preoccupied with the pain shooting up his leg to notice, but that was not the case with Thalia who stared with a look of both wonder and horror at the writhing shadows, she was so focused on the shadows she wasn't really noticing the amount of pain Torin was presently in.
The pain subsided slightly, the shadows returned to their original state. "Is it done? Have you set it?" Torin finally took the moment to look at his leg, it was still bent off to the side, although now a different side than before. "It doesn't look any better than before... are you sure you know what you're doing?"

Well, he'd screwed up, hopefully he'd manage it this time.
"Almost there, just got to make a few more adjustments then it should be good as new." Arthurius said, trying to hide his slight worry at having essentially wrenched it into just as bad a state but on the opposite side.
Arthurius felt for the joints of the leg this time, placing his fingers around them and feeling where exactly the movement was comign from so that he could better control it when he tried again.
He looked up for a second, shocked at the icy feeling that had gone down his spine, if he'd known what this feeling was he'd realise some sort of magic was happening around him, but as inexperienced with magic as he was he just thought it was a shiver down his spine at the thought of what had just gone wrong with the leg.
Arthurius grasped it, pulling more gently this time and attempting to re-align it with the rest of him, hopefully it'd work this time.

Arthurius wrenched Torin's leg once more. It was straighter, but it was still not straight. The pain from the incident caused Torin to once more think the foul profanities that aided in manipulating shadows. He also momentarily wanted little more than to harm the person who was causing him pain. Once more the shadows warped and bent practically reaching for Arthurius. Thalia screamed, "SORCERER!!!" pointing at Torin, slowly backing away.
The shadows returned to normal, her scream cutting through to Torin, "Wait! Thalia, I'm not going to hurt you..." He looked around, there were now dozens of eyes on him. People seemed ready to grab their torches and pitchforks, Torin turned his gaze back to Thalia, a deep sadness within them, "Don't go..."
"You're a monster! I can't believe I saved your life!" With those very hurtful words, she began to run away. Torin looked to Arthurius, how would the nerdy alchemist respond to the situation? A tear rolled down the side of Torin's face, why had she responded so?
