" What'sss thisss? ... What'sss thisss?? Thesse ssshinies everywhere!" Hopping from stall to stall, building to building, Shokino earned quite a few nasty looks and some confused ones as well from people who weren't use to seeing such an excitable skaldi. There were jewels, and hats, and weapons, and swords, ' Is that a bear skin? Yes! How queer!' It was all so interesting to her, she couldn't fathom why people would put out so many different things, but as she went along it looked like they were trading the goods for small shiny pieces of circles. Pulling out her own little pouch she had a few of those herself, she wondered how many it would take for her to get an interesting piece of anything. Looking around a corner she found a little stall that seemed to sell everything under the sun. Wiggling excitedly, Sho almost knocked someone down with her swishing tail. She tried to offer them an apologetic smile, but they cowered back, apologized to her, and quickly ran off for no apparent reason. Shrugging it off, she shuffled her way over towards the woman who was watching over the place. Unsure how to get her attention without either making a scene, breaking something, or causing someone to run off, Sho sort of just went over and stood there, staring with her bright blue eyes.

It's kind of hard to ignore a Skaldi, especially if they're your only customer. Just sayin'.
People browse all the time, but this Skaldi looked like it wanted to buy something.
"Can I help you?"
Oh... I hope it speaks Cruic. This will get awkward fast if it doesn't.
Allyria perked up in the chair behind the stall. She hadn't had any real work from the townsfolk. They were all comfortable with the vendors they had for their things. But this was a strange person in front of her, and therefore it only made sense that they'd come to a non-traditional vendor. Yes, that is what Allyria told herself. That's what convinced her that this person would be buying a commissioned work. Bags, armor, weapons. Allyria could make it all. Given the time to do so.

Unable to help herself, Sho smiled a sharp-toothed grin, nodding quickly. She had a basic grasp of the cruic language even if she still had trouble putting just one of their strange S sounds in her words. "Yesss, help pleassse! Interssting thingsss!" Actually, she hadn't really thought of what she wanted. Letting her gaze fall down to the stall she tugged and poked at different things with her claws to try testing how well she might be able to carry them.
"Like thing for head." Sho had seen some very colorful and feathery hats worn by some of the funnier looking two-legged creatures without scales or fur and wanted one. "Big, color?" She tried to gesture like she would in her own language, bobbing her head and flicking her tongue out occasionally. 'Calm down, you're starting to mix two languages dear.'

What...?
Shit... it doesn't speak Cruic well.
"Do you mean a hat? Or a helmet? What color... stop gesturing... use your words."
Allyria was getting a little frustrated with the Skaldi. She wanted to help, but this language barrier was a bit hard to get through. The skaldi needed to slow down and use its words. She could only get so much from a head bobbing skaldi with an overactive forked tongue. That it was excited. That was about it. She got that it wanted a hat. And it was excited about the hat. Did it mean a leather hat? A metal hat? A big hat? A blue hat?
The half-breed redoubled her focus on the skaldi, trying to interpret what the creature needed. People were starting to stare at the spectacle. Look at this. Two non-humans trying to communicate. They must have looked so very silly.

Pouting, Sho scratched her snout then dropped her hands when she was told to stop gesturing by the woman and the voice in her head. 'It's alright, just talk a little slower and answer her questions. What sort of hat did you want?' Sitting herself down on the ground, Sho could still look over at the woman at half her normal height. She lifted up her arms about to start making a gesture again but soon dropped them again, remembering that she wasn't suppose to do that.
"Umm.. Big hat? Colors, feathers, shinies on it?" She didn't actually know what the hats felt like. Whenever she would get close to a woman with a hat she liked to touch it they would scream, flail, and run away from her as if her touch would set them on fire. It was very rude! Hopefully she was giving enough information so the woman knew what she wanted.

Allyria had an idea that would work. A large brimmed hat with a feather stuffed into the band. She had seen a few of those. That could possibly be what her customer was talking about. The question was what to make the hat out of. She brought a few pieces of material out from behind the stall. A piece of cotton cloth, a strip of leather, and a piece of iron.
"Ok, a hat. Made from what? Pick."
Allyria would point to each, watching her customer. Trying to see if that is what the Skaldi wanted the had made out of. Based on what the creature picked, she'd make it to somehow have a feather or two in it. If she could find some feathers. This whole exchange was uncomfortable though, it would be so much easier to talk.
Now that she thought about it, she could probably teach the Skaldi to speak better cruic.

Clapping her hands excitedly, Sho nodded, glad that she had gotten her point across. There were still a few things she had to decide to get her hat though, but she didn't mind, the creature was learning how to understand her.
Tilting her head as the three different materials were presented to her, she blinked a couple times, hesitantly reaching out to feel each of them. If she had to decide on how things felt alone, she would go with the one made of cloth, but what caught her eye the most was the one of iron. She adored how it shone and glittered and sparkled and everything in the sun and she wanted it.
Tapping the iron, she smiled, "Thisss, thisss, make thisss feathersss?" she didn't actually want it made from feathers, just some feathers in it, not understanding the woman already planned on putting some in. Wiggling closer, she wanted to just reach over and hug this creature who was actually listening to her for once, but the voice in her head told her that that was a very bad idea.

"I could make that for you. Yeah."
Make feathers out of iron? No.. maybe it wants feathers in it. Like it said before. some kind of half helmet, half decorative hat is what it wants. That's what it wants. I can do that, shouldn't be hard at all.
She committed to doing the job before she convinced herself that it could be done or that the creature was going to get what it actually wanted as opposed to what she thought it wanted. So hard to actually get that right all the time. And the communication problem only made it harder.
"Payment is due when you receive the goods. Are you interested in anything else? Bags, armor? Weapons maybe? Uhm.. Sharp and pointy things?"
Oh... I'm still talking. Great... idiot.

Allyria saw the Skaldi attempting to communicate with the locals in the Morith market. As Allyria witnessed the events, through her vision, that occurred before the Skaldi even showed up to her own market stall, it became ever clear that this poor creature had a very hard time communicating with others. Not just Allyria, and not just Cruic. It's very nature was excitable and chaotic.
Allyria's vision was like a brief blip, a blink to her. She was gone and back before anyone would notice it. Experiencing time differently during that period.
"Would you like... to improve your speaking?"
Bold move, half-breed.·

Disturbing the dust on the ground behind her, Sho's tail swished to and fro happily as she nodded to this 'payment' thing the woman talked about. While she wasn't exactly sure what it meant, she assumed it was that trading thing people had been while she was walking around. She didn't exactly understand what the woman meant when she started talking about sharp and pointy things however.
Pausing for a moment to try thinking it through, Sho hit one of her hands down on the other in an 'Ah hah!' gesture when she thought she figured it out. Leaning closer to the woman, Sho opened her mouth to reveal a great many sharp, pointy things, namely her powerful teeth that came with her viper species. "Tharp, poithy thingth?" She was trying to say sharp pointy things while keeping her mouth open but it turned out to be more difficult that she thought.
Pulling back slightly, she closed her mouth to give the woman a questioning look. Her speaking? She could speak well! 'You speak alright darling.' Pouting, Sho shook her head at the voice, looking off at nothing, "Nuh-uh, Sho speak fine!" 'Don't be rude, you should accept her help, not many would offer it to you.[/b]" Thumping her head down on the table, Sho gave a long huffing sigh, "Ooookay.. You help?" She addressed the woman now, looking straight at her once more.

Allyria nodded as the Skaldi opened her maw, showing off her teeth. Sharp pointy things indeed. Not what the gray girl meant, but it was close enough. She wondered though if that was all the creature was looking to use. Its teeth and claws? Though she did not doubt that the Skaldi was strong and could tear a man to pieces, it worried her a little that this adventurous sort was going about life unarmed. All it took was one overly racist or overly psychotic Ritgr and the Skaldi would be dead as could be.
"Yes... those are very nice."
Maybe it doesn't want any other weapons?
Then she noticed that the Skaldi was more or less struggling with itself. Either with the words it was going to use to continue their conversation, or it was having some kind of eternal debate. Either way, Allyria waited for it to confirm or deny the offer for help.
First it denied her, then it accepted the offer.
Right... so it can't make up its mind.
"I'd be glad to help. Let's meet here tomorrow, and I'll bring your hat. You'll pay for the hat with money, understand? And then we'll go to a nice little tea shop I know about and we'll work on your speaking. Does that sound fair?"

Lifting herself up, Sho nodded, "Tomorrow! Can no wait, bye bye nice lady!" Waving a hand, she turned tail and fled from the woman, the market all together for that matter. She wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible so there was no time for the other woman to change her mind or refuse to teach her anymore. "Gonna learn, gonna learn!" she chanted as she left.
Heading out of town, all she really had to do next was figure out which of what she collected was money. There were a few items Sho gathered because she thought they were pretty, interesting, or pretty interesting, but she wasn't always sure what they were called. Ah well, she'd just bring an armful of things and hope she got it right.

Allyria giggled.
Such a charming personality...
"Bye."
Allyria went back to minding her stand, grateful for the Skaldi that stopped by and offered her some work to do. Of course, it would be nice to actually receive a large commission. But it was something to do in her spare time instead of sitting in her kitchen, and wondering about all the lost knowledge that she wanted to find and not even knowing where to start. She thought that perhaps in teaching she might learn something about this world that she lived in, and how best to counter whatever forces that were arrayed against it. From what she had seen there was a great deal of suffering out there among the throngs of humanity. The Skaldi presented an opportunity to make someone else's life better.
It got her thinking about how else she could make the lives of others better.

Guinevere popped from stall to stall, looking briefly but albeit quickly. This was just a quick stop on her travels back to Viktoria from the recent Tournament. She was looking for a nice enough dress, now it couldn't be just any dress. She wanted a special sort of dress, that would help in being more charismatic, and more of a leader. One maybe imbued with a little magic, to add that needed kick. But finding such a thing was difficult, and Viktoria was not the place for it of late. As most of the shops and merchants in the area were gone. Violence did that. A&F Ventures was the shop she finally decided to stop at, whether through word of mouth or through drunken rambling of Allyria herself this was a place she believed she could get what she wanted. She approached the person in the stand, leaving Adrian to stand just outside the stand. His back turned to the Lady Lyethe. " I am here to commission a dress being made. Or similar clothing, I am hoping I am in the right place." But why would she not be? This should be easy.

Oh Azuloth she's talking to me.
Allyria had been passed up. Routinely. By almost everyone in the market. SHe had been so passed up she spaced out and had a bored look on her face. Like she was intently staring at locks of her hair. That was when she realized that the woman in front of her was talking directly to her. It was almost a moment too good to be true. She had been baffled.
"Oh... uhm. Yes. I can do that for you. Welcome to A&F Ventures by the way. I'm Allyria. Do you have a preference in fabric? We have leather and cotton in stock. Oh but you look like such a lady. And pretty too. You'll want silk probably. Or lace. The best place to get silk is from N'Janroya, in Telle'Korasus. I can do that. None of these others can provide silk like I can. Not Stitches and Strings. Do you have a particular fashion in mind or would you like something... fresh?"
She was dialing up the salesmanship to ten, no, eleven. Drokagr silk? Not just anyone would be wearing that. No. But it would be pricey. There were two reasons why she proposed that idea. First, to see where this lady's price range was. The second was to see if she was xenophobic or not. Allyria couldn't stand working for people who hated her. It was rare that it would happen. Again, most people avoided her stall entirely.
