Khamat awoke to a blinding light, even with his eyes closed it was coming through, he could feel the tree that he was leaning up against and that was it. Opening up his eyes he wiped them groggily with the back of a hand, wiping away the sleep and welcoming himself to a new day. And what a day it was, the sun was shining through the trees and was presumably what had woken him up.
But then he moved, Khamat tried to get up and instantly felt the strain he'd put himself through in the last night, the exhaustion from the very brief but intense fight could still be felt in each of his muscles, the ache permeating even through to his bones. Khamat detatched himself from the tree and slowly, painfully, with a combination of pushing and pulling got himself into a standing position. From there he spent several seconds stretching, just purely trying to get some feeling other than the dull ache into his body.
Once he had full control of his body and could move it without feeling endless waves of aches and pain, Khamat slowly began trudging back in the direction of the camp. He'd been gone longer than he was expecting now due to the exhaustion and then unconsciousness, he needed to get back to his people, he needed to get back to them and make sure they were all fine. He'd achieved his objective and more, he knew that when the both were unarmed he stood a decent chance against a human, meaning that most of his Skaldi would probably be able to face humans one on one if they had to provided they fought on equal grounds.
It was good to know in terms of research and possible strategies for the future, but in terms of him, it had cost him rather a lot of strength he'd need to recuperate, but he couldn't even recuperate until he'd gotten back, and that was still at least seven good days of walking. It was going to be a long time before he could actually rest...
Khamat trudged forward, pure willpower keeping him upright at this time, the will to get back to his people being the driving reason for why he was still standing, otherwise he would have happily slept for several days by this point.
