Gabriel could tell that Guinevere looked slightly annoyed at him. Should he push it, no he wanted to please her, spent a bit more time with her. He liked the company of a lady, her looks were an added bonus. "I'm sorry Lady Guinevere, I must have forgotten how we have all changed since being younger." He tried to sound friendly towards Guinevere, didn't want a fight now.
Now Gabriel turned to Cassius, now alone as Elise was ordering food or whatever it was. Now he looked at the male and replied, "Ahh, an inn. Nice places, how is your sister getting on in her lessons?" Gabriel was trying to make the man feel comfortable as he seemed pretty on edge.

The tea was brought to the table, each in a different mug. Élise examined each with care; they looked polished – well made. She wondered where it came from, who crafted it, and then realized she should probably not be staring and holding the both of them. She sat the shorter, stubbier mug in front of her, feeling the steam hit her face as she slid the taller mug across the table to her brother. Élise watched the steam rise from her mug, not knowing how or if she should enter the conversation at all. Her social skills in such a lax setting were pretty much nonexistent. Not because she was shy, but really she just didn’t have anything to say.
Cassius blinked in a bit of shock, eyelids fluttering like drawn blinds still shaking from the motion. He felt something akin to relief – was that a sigh that left his heavy chest – when Guinevere corrected Gabriel. He only felt momentary guilt for finding joy in this. The rest of the time, he spent reveling in the fact that he hadn’t been the only one rejected of calling Guinevere by a much more casual title Yet, Cassius was quite intrigued to be given the opportunity to hear of Guinevere’s younger years. He couldn’t quite imagine her as a little girl. “What was she like?” He asked the Gabriel without really thinking whether or not he should pry. Cassius reached out for the mug slid over to him and hid his face by taking a sip. It might have hidden parts of the blush on his cheeks but definitely not the scarlet tipping the ends of his pointed ears. He mumbled into his cup that Élise’s studies seemed well enough. He really didn’t want to slip up and mention the whole broken rib catastrophe from one little game of H.O.R.S.E.

Guinevere was taking the exit from the conversation, as Cassius was rather inclined to start talking with Gabriel. Though, it was a subject about her, she could easily ignore it. After all, there was paper work to still think about, and doing math was somewhat important. After all, she needed to do a little number crunching if she was ever to life off of her own legacy, and not that of her parents. Besides, a little business on the side could not hurt her too badly.

Well screw math, it hated her anyways. Even if it was a simple multiplication. Perhaps she was never meant to live as a great number cruncher. But that was okay with Guinevere, she could always be hiring help. She didn't need to do this alone, she just chose to do this alone. That was fair, what counted was putting in the effort towards doing it. Well, as long as the numbers didn't matter to anyone's life, as she could not trust herself that far.
Guinevere drew a small frownie face on the paper.
That made the half-elkagr feel infinitely better. It was sympathizing with her.

Gabriel thought back to his childhood. Him and Guinevere had been friends for a little, but she was always busy with other stuff and the friendship didn't last for ages. He remembered the days where they would just walk and talk around town. The conversations were always random. "Guinevere was like a normal child you know, I mean most children act the same. We were not friends for long but while we were we had fun. It was just when I saw her today well. I thought i would never see her again."
With this Gabriel quickly cast a look to Guinevere hoping no one had seen it. He couldn't help it. Wow she had been lucky with pulling the looks card out of the pile. Even being Half-Elkagr Gabriel couldn't stop looking her way.
"So Cassius and Elise before you met Guinevere, what did you two do around here. Like how did you pass the time?"

Well that didn’t tell Cassius anything, but he didn’t mind. Perhaps he would never understand the lives of nobles. After all, every child he had ever met was uniquely different. They each grew into wildly diverse people, but perhaps that was just Cassius’ equally careful way of looking at the world. Élise had always been a brave, quiet child where Ventus had always been rash, clumsy, and beyond silly. Now that he thought of it, Cassius wondered what kind of child he’d been in the eyes of his siblings, aunt, and uncle. He’d been too quiet, probably obedient, for his own good. Was that the normal? Just a selfless rug of a person without a purpose besides helping other’s find their own way? He didn’t think that sounded very amiable. So he didn’t talk about that. Instead, Cassius cleared his throat when Gabriel asked him how he and his sister had passed the time. “Élise and Ventus – ah excuse me. Ventus is our younger brother. Anyways, those two attended the academy for some time. Élise joined the youth militia at a young age and now she is a Ritgr of the Sovereign. Ventus is rather rambunctious. He’s often causing trouble around here with the nobles. Though he just left for Mardok Duchy several days ago. It’d say its been rather quiet without him around, but,” Cassius glanced at Lady Guinevere with a shy grin, “its still been rather busy around the inn. That’s where I work..” He didn’t have much to say about himself, as all he’d ever done was take care of his family and the inn.
Élise, who had been watching Gabriel and Guinevere the entire time as she sipped from her cup, did not miss the rather suggestive glances from Gabriel. He looked at the Lady with bedroom eyes that made Élise nearly sputter on her tea. Though her face was unreadable, like a block of stone, her thoughts were buzzing. She glanced at Cassius to see if he’d noticed this. No? Of course not. He was so dense sometimes. Élise’s eyes dart to Guinevere then, noticing how equally dense she was being. Well, that wasn’t fair. Guin was absorbed in her work. Its not like she was staring at the cat in heat across the table dead-on and completely missing the signs of his glowering eyes. She just wasn’t looking at either suitor at all. Instead, she noticed Guinevere looking at a little doodle that Élise read as an eyeless smiley face upside down. Weird… The Ritgr turned back to Gabriel and blurted what she was wondering, “Do you fancy Lady Guinevere?” Élise asked. Its not that she lacked tact, she just found the whole beating around the bush tactic as being a major time-waster.

" It is a wonderful Inn." Guinevere added in shortly. Cassius was always so humble. Looking to the man briefly, adding a tiny smile. Guinevere looked back to her paper yet again, still smiling as she thought on what Cassius spoke. His voice was rather soothing. Too bad the man was overly busy with the inn, so that they could not see each other more. Their separate lives were rather busy, and far away from each other. Even almost on opposite sides of the country from one another. Some things were maybe not meant to happen. For now, Guinevere could enjoy the moment...and work on her dismal math skills. Until she nearly chocked on her own breathing. " Elise!" Her tone turned just a little bit chiding. Any sort of interest that this 'man' had in her was noted for what it was, lust was easy to tell. Lust was just another game that the court played to bide time away. But it was never spoken of openly, if anything happened it was through messages and symbols not blatant words. At least not ones just between two parties. The thought made Guinevere again blush, and shakily try to plunge back into her work. This Lady had no such interests in scandals, or trysts with lovers. Well, trysts of that sort...and excluding all but one man. The one man had never shown that sort of interest. Perhaps that was why her heart fluttered around so irresponsibly around him, or so was the justification she gave it.

Gabriel sat in his chair happily listening to the story thinking on most of the words. The story of Cassius, Elise, and their brother Ventus was very interesting indeed. Gabriel wondered how it was to live a nice childhood. Something he could never have. Curse his father, being different wasn't bad. It made you shine out. Gabriel would get revenge. As Gabriel thought about all of this he didn't let any emotions show on his face to the others. His past was something he didn't overly want to talk about. As Cassius finished off his story Gabriel replied, "That's very nice, your family seems a very nice one." Gabriel did smile at this point trying to ease any awkwardness at the table. Well, Elise apparently had other ideas “Do you fancy Lady Guinevere?” Gabriel sat their as his jaw dropped to the floor.
Gabriel then spluttered to Elise, "What!? No, no, no. What the hell Elise? What would give you that idea? I haven't seen Guinevere in god knows how long." Gabriel then went silent holding back any other words. Gabriel started wondering why Elise would say that. Gabriel just didn't know what to say.
