Morith's market is large and the trade hub of the entire kingdom. Many different trading groups are represented here, even those that are not legitimate business or even recognized by the crown. The market is a large square just to the east of the keep where the provincial governor lives. There are several rows of stalls, and actual shop buildings lining the edge of the market. All sorts of wares are available here for purchase. The market is closed after nightfall, and guards are stationed at every entrance and exit during all times of the day.

Another town another crowd. Just great. He really needed to get over this feeling of anxiety he got around groups of people. Or even just a single stranger for that matter. He imagined bad things could come of it in the right circumstances. Certainly nothing good could come from his skittish demeanor. It would be difficult to make friends and meet new people, to acquire contacts and make those connections that are ofttimes needed in life. And it would also be difficult to do exactly what he came here to do, buy stuff.
What he did not come here to do was stand there awkwardly fidgeting around. He had not come to be too afraid to talk to the shop keepers in order to get their attention, and he most certainly did not come to make a fool out of himself to everyone that was paying attention to him. He did not come here to do these things, but alas doing these things he was. He had already been to Brakenworth's Leather Goods, Gems, Jewels, and Baubles, and to The String and Pin. He had taken an unnecessarily long amount of time to purchase his goods there and had even received some funny looks. Now he was taking an even longer time purchasing his goods at The Pointy End.
The boy stared at the same two axes he had been staring at for the past five minutes. He knew everything about their nuanced curves, every nick in their blades and handles, every flaw and impurity. He had determined long ago that these were the best two they had. Of course he didn't possess the crafting expertise to know this, but he possessed the expertise of a wielder of axes. They weren't the best weapons he had ever seen, but they were decent ones to happen upon in a shop like this. Eventually Jorkahn had even become fed up with his own insecurity and worked up the courage to wordlessly bring the axes to the shopkeeper, plop the necessary gold on the counter, and leave.
Why does this get harder every time?
Purchased: Leather Gloves Cost: 6 gold, Leather Boots Cost: 6 gold, Medicine Bag Cost: 8 gold, Moonstone Gold Amulet Cost: 85 gold, Wool Cloak 10 gold, 2 Hand Axes 12 gold each.
Total: 139 Gold

Arthurius walked back into the market, this time a lot more wary of the peopel around him, he'd learned his lesson from last time he'd been here when his money had been stolen. Although he had actually gotten a fairly decent worker out of it on the other end of the equation, plus it'd taught him a valuable lesson, anyone could try and fuck you over.
Arthurius waltzed through the stalls, picking up various pieces of equipment, he'd finally gotten a job, a job that'd fill a considerable part of his loan to Kable if he could do it properly, and do it properly he sure would. Arthurius hit mainly the clothing stalls, picking himself up some light armour, while the job would probably be of minimal danger it never hurt to be cautious and even something so simple as delivering flyers could go badly if the wrong people caught you with those flyers.
Dropping the small coins on each vendor's stalls as he hit each one in a fast and methodical grid, he could tell his wallet was getting lighter but at the same time things for him were getting better...or at least he hoped.
Once he was done with all of his purchases he walked back out of the market, heading instead for a certain street at which this job was located.

This is intended as a brief summary of what I wind up purchasing in the thread I made Jeshua felt at home in the marketplace, the shops, the thieves, the hidden trades going on behind the scenes. It was his first time in a market of this size, but he could practically feel the money changing hands all around him. His first attempts at getting shops to join his trade company went poorly, getting him kicked out of one shop before he could make any purchases. No new clothes today. His next attempt he learned to make his purchases before he made his pitch, netting him a moonstone and gold amulet at full price (80 ritz) before managing to earn the ire of that particular shopkeeper as well. His trip to the market was not going well, perhaps the next shops he visited would be more amenable to his company.
I realized after the fact that this post was an ill-conceived Idea, but it is here I'll keep track of my purchases in the other thread.

At Brakenworth's Leather Goods Allyria found the raw materials she had been looking for to get started on her business. A & F Ventures was drowning in debt to none other than herself. So far every expense the company has had has been forked out of her own pocket. She hoped that she could get onto the road of sustainability to pursue her true passion. Knowledge. At the leather goods store she found her confidence.
"Hello... you all sell raw materials correct?"
"Yes... we sell uncut leather."
"I'll take your whole stock."
"Wh..what?!"
"All of it."
"That's..."
"Have it brought to A & F Ventures on Undal Street."
"And.. how will you be paying?"
"Bank Cheque. How much?"
"Four hundred Ritz madam. If you can scrounge that up."
"Done."
She left Brakenworth standing with his jaw hanging open and a cheque for four hundred ritz in his hands. Then she cleaned him out of his leather goods.
Similarly over at Gems, Jewels, and Baubles, she bought some things for herself and Fabre. Mainly two moonstones, and a moonstone gold amulet. From there she went back to Undal Street to get to work.
100 uncut leather: 400 gold 1 moonstone gold amulet: 85 gold 2 moonstones: 60 gold
Total: 545 gold

Floras 19th
Henri had found the Central Market.
And he was to dedicate this entire day to negotiating with each and every one of the shop owners in it. Except for the food place--food just didn't keep that long.
He began the day at Brakenworth's Leather Goods. He decided he ought to wear some gloves and boots which actually were helpful to him, as the old ones were running out their use. He also acquired a medicine bag to attach to his belt, in which he'd place potions... whenever he found some potions.
Leather Gloves -Cost: 6 gold
Leather Boots -Cost: 6 gold
Medicine Bag -Cost: 8 gold
As he was buying, he was also schmoozing with the owner. "Say," he said, "You're a man of fine taste in leather goods. It's a shame these things aren't famous Cruinthe-over... Would you be interested in a deal? We can work together."

Next, Henri went by Gems, Jewels, and Baubles. Goodness, they had a great selection. But he only had so much room on his body. He smiled and purchased the best variety he saw. He wouldn't want to be too... bland. So he got both types of rings, and the nicest amulet with a stone the color of the moon.
Silver Ring -Cost: 22 gold
Gold Ring -Cost: 47 gold
Moonstone Gold Amulet -Cost: 85 gold
On his way out, he flashed a moon-pearl-white smile at the shop's owner. "Say... Some beautiful jewelry you have here. If only we had these markets where I was from, my people would be adorned in gold. I was wondering, you see, if I could interest you in a deal. We can work together."

The String and Pin was next on the line. He looked through their wares. He felt heavy already from all the stuff he was wearing. "Hmm," he said, trying to decide if he really wanted any more clothing, "Hmm."
A Cloth Scarf fetched his eye. It looked pretty damn nice. -Cost: 8 Gold
All he was bought the nice scarf, as there was only so much more room left. He schmoozed with the owner. "Say," he said, "Thanks for the scarf. It'd look great on damn near anyone. Have you ever thought about expanding your business? We could work together."

And finally, he came to The Pointy End. He was amazed by their stock, but ended up buying a Small Wooden Shield. He'd search for a place that sold swords... but this place, he'd keep in mind. -Cost: 10 Gold
"You know," he said, "A lot of people elsewhere in Cruinthe would pay money just as good as a Sorathi coin for these fine goods... Perhaps I could help you reach those people. We could work together."

There was much schmoozing, much disinterest. It wasn't anything they hadn't heard before, a couple times a day. They took the man's coin and he took their products, everyone was content to do business.

Floras 28th, 200ATD Morning
Allyria had come by to pick up some things to finish up her armor. Namely, a medicine bag she had seen at Brakenworth's about a week earlier and some clothing items she had seen at the String and Pin, which she desired for the basis of the final pieces of her armor. The belt and the cloak. Out on the town she had purchased the wool cloak, the cloth scarf, and the medicine bag.
Paying for the items, she moved along back to her place of business so she could finish up her work.

She entered the store, "Gems, Jewels, and Baubles." It was what one might call a jewelry store, or perhaps a jeweler's store? They had a few gems and they had some precious metals. Hopefully she would be able to purchase enough to suite her purposes. She would probably be focusing on the use of silver this time around, but with her current budget it wouldn't hurt to experiment with a bit of gold.
Ten bars of silver, four bars of gold, and four moonstone; a grand total of 500 gold, the same amount that she had been given to start her business. This would be an opportunity to experiment a bit, hopefully upon her return to Viktoria she would have both the experience and the resources to devote herself entirely to her arts.

Morith market was more of a stop off point than his actual final destination. Most of his belongings had been left back in his hut, and he was pretty sure that so long as that Skulvor was around it there was no way he was going to get to the place so instead he'd have to make do with whatever it was he could find here. If he was honest with himself he hadn't had much of any actual value in the house, just his very basic smithing equipment, he could probably replace that quite easily, the only issue would be actually finding somewhere to put it considering he had no other place he could stay currently.
And so he'd ended up in a market, although he'd been quite dubious about visiting to begin with, Morith was to far north for his liking, and Sorath even further so, although that was his current destination, Morith was the bigger threat though as more people meant more risk. Business quickly then leave.
It was safe to say the provided wares were quite poor quality, Roald could see that with a glance, but then again for mass produced products you couldn't really expect quality, if you wanted quality you either needed to pay more and get it custom made or be on good terms with a craftsman. Luckily Roald had such an advantage, although his skills with leather weren't particularly amazing he was quite sure he could whip something up with these pieces. His main issue right now was he couldn't carry a huge amount, he already had as much as he could carry with simply a lantern a potion some food and a scroll, a pack of some description could solve that if he had leather. Leather which they luckily sold here.
The dragonfruit was least needed so the few pieces of leather he could buy replaced it instead, the dragonfruit being left to the shopkeeper with a small smile as he paid for his goods and left, he had to be careful to not seem to agitated or as if he was in to much of a rush or people would begin wondering and that he couldn't deal with.
Other shops disappointed him as much as the first, the goods were low quality at best and at worst horrific, the raw materials were unnecessary to him currently, why things such as gold and silver were sold but basic useful iron wasn't was something that baffled him. Iron could have been useful to him, gold and silver was only currently useful for making trinkets he could sell, and even then he wasn't confident in their usage and as such couldn't be sure of making a profit so would rather save his coin. Hopefully the Sorath market would be a lot more useful than this one, and if not then he wasn't sure what to do from there.
That being said once everything was paid for and sorted he left the shop with his leather in hand, already thinking of designs for his new backpack, with it he would be able to carry much more which would help him with a number of issues.
