Suddenly there was knocking at the front door. Out front there were a dozen soldiers in full battle dress gathered around the front door. The leader was hammering his mailed fist on the front door. His armor was fancier than the others, and he had a purple cape with a black snake devouring its tail in a circle on it. "In the name of Sorcerer-King Julgrava, open this door! You are to relinquish this property and all non-humans employed here to the judgement of the crown immediately!"

There was knocking at the front door. So they were here already. Allyria hadn't expected them for another hour at least. She had expected them though, ever since those ridiculous and stifling laws had been posted around the town. Order three was especially disheartening. She wasn't sure how hatred could win through so easily. These laws were completely without grounds or precedence. They were monstrous.
She knew what to do with monsters.
Kill them all.
Allyria was clad in her full scarlet get-up, sitting in front of the reception desk on the floor with her scythe Sanguine Evolution across her lap. She gestured at the door, unlatching it so that the man's final or next knock would open the door wide. There was enough space in the entryway for a protracted fight. And she was not loath to do such a thing to protect the rights of her employees who were long gone to Morith, and would soon be on their way to Telle'Agharta. She employed a wide variety of people. Skaldi, drokagr, humans, mixed breeds. They were all good people, she'd gladly kill so they wouldn't have to. It was sad that it had come to this.
"This establishment is membership only," she'd say to the man, her voice ringing with a metallic quality behind her mask. A metal half-face mask which was painted red and black, or was the metal naturally those colors? The red portions gave the impression of a predators teeth. The mask and cowl became permanently attached to her. The remainder of her face disappeared from view, into the black nothingness of the cowl. As if the void itself filled the space, peering out with red eyes burning like stars.
"I am Scarlet, and I declare war on the Sovereign Kingdom of Cruinthe."

The Ritgr stood there fuming. How dare this woman called Scarlet bar his path. He had Skaldi and Drokagr to kill. He had a countess to strip, skin, and hang. Palejaw would be furious with him if he and his men were defeated by some waif. With a single gesture he ordered the first squad up. Five footmen moved into the building and attempted to surrounded the scythe-wielder. They kept their spears up, ready to defend themselves and attack at any given moment. These weren't battle hardened veterans, but they were more afraid of the Ritgr than they were of Scarlet.
"Kill her!"
The Footmen attacked, all at once, aiming for different parts of her. One for her head, one for her stomach, one for her back, another for her right side, and one for her left thigh. They were going to stick her until she was so full of holes they'd confuse her for a fine Hek'Cruican cheese.
Battle data will be posted next round.

Allyria was not surprised by their response to her declaration of war. She was going to have to kill them all. Unfortunately this would take some time. She hoped there would be no reinforcements while she dealt with them. As they jabbed their spears at her, she spun away towards one of the soldiers and slashed at him with her scythe. Then she moved on to the next footman, slashing at him as well. Though the first attack was blind, the second one was aimed for the footman's neck. Following that attack she attacked the Footman that was adjacent to her to take him down as well.
There was only so much to do about this situation. The environment in Morith and Sorath had turned sour. There were laws against her existence, against Vekkia's existence. She couldn't tolerate that. She also couldn't tolerate leaving things as they are or cutting her friends and allies from her services. There was a plan hatching in her mind. One to make sure her goods and services were still available, and to keep her family safe without changing their lifestyle.
She wanted everything.

Hikari stood in the shadows watching the guards attack the tavern. Her trip to Sorath seemed to be ill timed as it seemed like the mad king had begun enforcing some strict laws on his subjects. She did not need to understand Cruic to know that the brunt of the abuse fell on the non-human citizenry. Although she had no love for them, such treatment disgusted her.
Her dagger in one hand and a Kunai in another Hikari stood read to jump in the fight from the shadows if the time was right. She doubted she would be any good outnumbered as she and the other woman were, but the Drokgarr seemed to carry herself like a fighter and if they survive Hikari might gain a powerful ally.

Massacre! As soon Scarlet acted blood was spraying so high it splattered the ceiling and rained down. Her first attack split a man open from groin to chest, killing him instantly and nearly splitting him in half. The scythe ripped through his armor, carved through his bones, and tore through his flesh. Blood and viscera hit the previously pristine floor with a sopping flop and splatter. The body hit the floor with such violence that bones crumbled. The next unlucky victim had his head nearly slashed off. Blood arched and sprayed from the open wound in his neck as he staggered around jabbing and swinging his spear wildly. His comrades backed off in horror as he fell to the ground, soaked in his own blood. The third victim's head was split in half by the scythe. It carved through his skull and dashed his brains across the floor. The shockwaves from the weapon's impact, and its magical effect, shattered the skull into a thousand pieces. The head practically exploded into bloody flower. The level of violence that the soldiers of the SKC were prepared for was nothing like this. Seven of them froze in their tracks, too terrified of Scarlet to move! The remaining five attacked with vigor. They stabbed and swung at her, yet their spearheads couldn't even find her cloak. It was like she knew what would happen and moved to perfectly block and dodge every attack. The ritgr stood there, grinding his teeth.

It hadn't been long since their foray into the horrifying Quiet Temple. The boy did not wish to think of the terrors he had seen. Fortunately, in a twisted sort of way, he didn't have the chance too. Not long after returning to the town with Allyria had the SKC declared war against nearly every party in and around the kingdom. The half-breed had made himself scarce the moment he read the notice, not wanting to forward his freedom, and likely his life, to a kingdom he no longer cared about.
He was fuming. The human's petty squabbles and arrogance had already cost him his family and his home. Now many more would die, Cruic or otherwise. The young warrior crushed the letter in his hand as he turned onto the street holding Ne'Ranmba Rul. In his frustration, the young man nearly walked up to the large group of Cruinthian soldiers surrounding the entrance. Jorkahn pulled up his hood and swiftly stepped around the corner of a building out of sight. After being certain of his safety the lad peeked his head out around the corner and examined the situation. He couldn't see into the building, there were too many bodies in the way. But it did seem like a fight had already broken out.
Jorkahn's heart sank for a moment, and then the anger came rushing back. He couldn't hold it in anymore. Pulling out his weapon of choice the boy stepped out from the shadows and briskly walked towards the group of enemies. He tried to make as little noise as possible. Hopefully, he wouldn't be noticed until he was already on top of them. As he drew closer the boy looked over the soldiers, trying to pick out the leader if he could. With any luck, he could reach that person quickly and take them out first.
If they had hurt Allyria, he would see to it that none of them would leave alive.
Will be in combat range by next post.

Allyria had successfully evaded her enemies attacks. In fact, she made it look easy. Ducking and bending out of the way of their spears like it was some kind of dance that only she knew the moves to. In truth, she knew what they were going to do before they even did it. She had seen it happen, and reacted in turn to evade harm fully. She retaliated of course, striking at the heads of her three nearest foes with her weapon as they closed around her.
Those that ran in fear were not chased. There was no cause to murder them. They had families too, most likely, and if she didn't need to kill them to defend herself or someone else, then she wouldn't. It simply wasn't her way.
"Run, you fools! Run!"

Hikari had to stop herself from gasping as the soldiers fell to Half-Drokagr with hardly a fight. She was glad to have run into those other who were fleeing the city who told her to come to the place.
Before Hikari could move in closer to the carnage another man joined the fray and he seemed to be on the woman's side which was all the better for Hikari. The more people in the fight the harder it would be for her enemies to notice her. Hikari moved closer to the fight, just close enough for her to get a good shot with her kunais but still remained in the shadows.
Things were about to get bloodier.

It was like coconuts being sliced in half. The tops of heads flying off from the bottom half, spiraling, blood spraying about like some kind of macabre fruit commercial. Six of the remaining nine footmen froze in absolute abject terror, they would have died of fright if any of them were capable. The stress was getting to several of them however, their minds were close to breaking. This was no where near fair. One person should be able to take on over ten well armed and well trained men. And for them to not score a single hit against her? Madness. Three of them reacted purely out of self defense at this point, they jabbed their spears at her, not daring to get close enough for a slash, trying to stay out of her attack range. The Ritgr stood there, grinding his teeth. This was not going as planned.

Jorkahn heard the sounds of fighting, the grotesque sounds of heads being sliced and the wet thuds of bodies hitting the floor. He needed to pick up the pace, so the warrior broke out into a sprint. He felt a rush of energy form in his arms and legs, his legs moving at seemingly super-human speeds. The boy thought he caught a silhouette of a man a bit more imposing than the rest, so he made a beeline for the Ritgr. The half-breed would attempt to bowl over any footmen in his way with his shoulder before bringing his massive axe around horizontally towards the leader's neck. It was an attempt to alleviate the man of the burden that was his bigoted head.
This could be a bad idea, but the thought of losing another important person in his life left Jorkahn in a state of angry desperation.

It was almost sad. Seeing the deaths of these soldiers before they actually occurred, as well as their feeble attempts to stick her like a pig with their puny spears. She wasn't going to just let them hit her, especially when she had the gift of foresight. No, instead she was going to continue to butcher them until they were either dead, or had fled. There were only a few of them left, and now one of the onlookers had joined in the fray. Jorkahn had come out of the shadows and attacked the Ritgr from behind. She didn't know how she felt about that. It was pragmatic of him. But she felt that a fight like this should have left some survivors to carry the message back to their boss.
Allyria didn't want to have to keep defending her properties like this. She didn't want to continue to involve friends.
Yet that was something to discuss with Jorkahn after the battle. For now, she continued to fell her enemies. One swift swipe to the neck each with her scythe, like reaping wheat or oats. It was extremely unlikely that she'd miss.

Following the strange man's lead Hikari moved into the the building but did not charge at the soldiers. She stood within a safe distance and would launch three of her Kuanis; one for each of the the men that would be knocked over in the wake of the man's charge aiming at their heads, if none were knocked down she would throw them towards the three men closest to the man.
If this woman could truly help her, then she needed to guarantee her safety, best way to do that would be to help kill those men attacking her. But from the looks of things she did not seem to need help.

Allyria continued to draw the attention of the Ritgr's troops. They jabbed at her with their spears but with each passing second their plight became even more hopeless. It would only be a matter of moments before they would break and run, it was evident in all of their eyes. As each heartbeat passed, another of their comrades lost their head to what could only be the avatar of death itself. This Scarlet they had encountered had become the image of their fear. Scarlet embodied everything they hated, everything that petrified them. And as their blood wet the floors it became self evident. Jorkahn had taken the opportunity while all of the attention was focused on Scarlet to attack the Ritgr from behind. He charged and split the soldier's neck open like a tree truck with his axe. Blood gushed from the wound at a high arc, splattering the ceiling and the walls on that side of the room. The Ritgr immediately went into shock and fell in a heap onto the ground. His heart beat out of control and expelled all of his life's blood into the air. Russell Chubbs had died nearly instantly. Hikari had then come onto the scene, throwing Ansai knives at the Footmen while they were distracted. One had slashed open the throat of her target, he crumpled to the ground in a pile and bleed out on the floor almost as fast as his commander. Another had harmlessly glided off another's armor and bounced off the but of his spear in a strange fashion, spinning end over end, until it landed in the man's left hand, forcing him to drop his weapon. He pulled the dagger from his hand and backed out of Allyria's melee range. The third had imbedded itself in a third footman's thigh, hindering his movements as he attempted to jab at Scarlet with his spear. As his muscles coiled and snapped from the injury, the fighter fell to the ground, dropping his spear. It clattered away from him and he attempted to crawl towards it, bleeding onto the floor, and leaving a trail behind him. Scarlet had grown tired of ducking and dodging under spears that were both poorly aimed and halfheartedly jabbed at her. There was no sport in this, there wasn't any point to their resistance any longer. The six blows that the footmen had managed to mete out this time took no effort to dodge. The others were dead on the floor, one was crawling away, still alive, but bleeding heavily. She made moves to kill the rest of the footmen and clean things up here. Three of them had remained inside melee range, the other had backed off. She would leave that last one to the newcomer or Jorkahn.
"Leave the wounded one alive."
Her scythe would cleanly slash through their necks and skulls, decapitating them or carving them open. Either way, this wasn't even fun to her, not even a little bit.
Once it was over she would do something about that wounded man. Someone had to relay this story back to the authorities.
