" You're too kind!" Guinevere tittered. " Oooohhh, Silk!" Silk was soft, in total opposite from the rough lace. There was something much more sensual about silk, it would hug every curve... but that was not something Guinevere was worried about. " Especially something so rare." But the matter of the race of the person standing before her was...delightful. Unlike most of her ancestors rolling in their graves over the race of the woman before her, Guinevere cared little about it. It was actually something Guinevere found exciting, she had only seen Drokagr blooded individuals from afar, but never up close. Never spoke to one. In her place in an Elkagr society it was better to stay away from those with undesirable blood... Which she was one of those. Perhaps there was more kinship with this Drokagr than most others around her. " What do you have in mind when you mean something fresh?"

"Oh, not at all."
Allyria blushed at the compliment. Silk was a hit. Ok, that's good. That meant she might be able to make a high value item for someone that could afford it for once. That made sense.
"Well. Drokagr fashion is perhaps too... too... too um, baring? I don't think that is the word. Unless that's what you want, baring that is. But perhaps something of a similar flare. Colorful, and accentuating but without being too much. Let me see you. I may want to take measurements. Hmmm, could you come by the house later? I'll need to take measurements but I don't want to subject you to that on the street. My apologies. We can talk more about what I could make for you and I'll have time to produce some sample sketches."
Allyria was now standing and halfway between approaching the woman who clearly had a guard, and halfway between going back to her stool behind the stall. She really didn't know what to do with herself. Most of the goods she produced were on a order now come back later basis, similar to this situation. Of course she needed to measure the other woman. But silk required very accurate measurements close to the body.
"If that is amenable to you, that is"

Guinevere glanced to Adrian, then back to Allyria, and again back to Adrian. Sorry. His shoulders drooped, he knew what was coming before they had even happened upon this stall. This happened often enough, and her mentally prepared himself for a night in Morith. Not that he should have been surprised in the first place.
"That would certainly make sense, where and when?"
She hadn't thought that far on getting clothing, the measurements and such, but that was not her craft. Guinevere was just fine living in her somewhat naive world. Naive to how goods came and were produced, but well at least she figured she knew people enough to make up for it. She could do the baby kissing, secret handshakes....stuff like that.

"Ah. Novora manor. It's just a few blocks away. Any time after sundown, I'll be awake."
Of course I'll be awake. When am I not?
Allyria was happy that she had an order to fill now. She wanted to go home immediately and begin working, but she would have to order the materials first. And then she might get other customers. It was possible, despite current trends.
Oh... maybe she should make dinner for her guests. It would be the first time someone came over to her home since Fabre had gone missing.
Missing...

He arrived in Morrith late at night. None of the stores were open, he wasn't going to be able to find any type of lodging until the morning most likely. Not being able to read and with no one to offer directions, he was left to wonder aimlessly through the city. Eventually he came across a market area, there were various booths and stalls, all closed of course, but this seemed a good place to search for lodging come morning, perhaps there would even be drokagr attending the marketplace.
One particular stall caught his attention, while he may not be able to read the sign, he could at least recognize that some of it was in his native tongue. He decided that it even though he wouldn't be able to see, hopefully the proprietor of the stall would speak drokagr. Even if he couldn't make use of their services, whatever those may be, he could at least ask for directions to the nearest inn. He sat in front of the cart and waited for the sun to rise, waited for the cart to open. Who knows how long he had to wait, he wasn't particularly great at keeping track of the hours. Once the sun started peaking over the horizon, he tied a fold of cloth over his eyes. Better to be blinded in this way than by the light.
Allyria or Fabre should arrive to find a blindfolded drokagr wearing leather armor with two swords strapped to his sides sitting against their stall when they open the stall.

It was early. Allyria hadn't slept that night as well as she could have. So instead she set about going to work as soon as the sky was light. There was some person leaning against the company stall where she spent most of her days watching people. He seemed to be tired. Maybe he had just stopped there because exhaustion overcame him. As she neared the person she noticed that he was clearly the same race as her. It made sense then that he would come to her stall. She stooped over the blindfolded half-drow and asked him a question.
"Sir... are you alright? Do you need a poultice or something? Or are you... drunk?"
Allyria looked him over. He seemed to be ok. The blindfold told her that he was a Nocturnal type. Much like her friend Vekkia. She thought about her for a minute. This one needed to get out of the sun so he could see. Sometime soon.

It wasn't too late in the day that he started hearing voices and the footsteps of people bustling around the market. He sensed her before he heard her, another of his kind. His belief about the stall seemed to be correct, now just for her to notice him, and eventually she did. His heart broke a little when she spoke the human toongue, but ye still remained hopeful. ~"You wouldn't speak our tongue, would you?"~

Even as he asked the question, his shadow began to waver and shift until it was separate from Levistus, and Levistus no longer cast a shadow as he should. The shadow waved to the drokagr woman before making a rude gesture and dashing away along the ground. Free for the first time the shadow was rather unsure of what to do with itself, the world was full of fun things. He observed the people, interesting creatures that they were, before settling on a child who was playing with there shadow near the edge of the market. He crept up on the unsuspecting child, casting himself along the ground, sneaking into the child's shadow. Then as the child made his shadow do a funny dance, the shadow rose from the ground dancing himself. The child screamed and the shadow was suddenly gone, the child was however inconsolable.

Oh right. He might not understand Cruic.
"What?"
Ah crap... Cruic again. Idiot.
-"Of course I do. Sorry. Are you ok? Do you need help?"-
She crouched down to his level to get a better look at him. Nope, nothing particularly off from what she could tell. Aside from the fact that he was outside during the dawning hours. He should have gone to an inn or something. But... most of them started accepting clientele during the afternoon. But that was humans. This was a Drokagr, sometimes they are up at night and sleep during the day. Simple.

~"Ah, what a relief. I feared for a moment you would not be able to speak with me. I am fine, I am just arrived to this city last night. While I may not be able to read your signs I at least recognized some of it was written in our tongue. I thought to wait in hopes that I could ask for assistance in finding a place to stay while I am here. I don't understand the human tongue, and I have not met any who speak ours. It makes navigating new places somewhat difficult."~
He paused for a moment at the sound of a screaming child, he wasn't sure what had caused it, but he hoped they were okay in the back of his mind. ~"I'm also curious as to what you have to offer at your little shop here."~ At least he assumed it was her shop, there weren't too many of his race in the city, worst case scenario it would be the awkward "I don't work here," that comes after asking the person who is basically dressed in the store uniform.
Meanwhile.
Shadow was growing bored, at least with the screaming child. He had toyed with it, but now it appeared to be broken. On to other games. The merchant had just finished carefully arranging all their gemstones for display. Shadow thought it would be funny to give them his own arrangement...

-"I don't believe Morith has a tavern suitable to our kind, especially with your.. condition there. I could see if there's a place in town, but I don't think so yet. The nearest might be Sorath. We might get lucky though."-
She didn't really know how to handle the issue of this fellow Drokagr not having a place to stay. There weren't any well known Inns in Morith. There were plenty of holes in the wall though. He would not enjoy staying in a place like that, she was sure of that. But she also did not trust him enough, seeing as she just met him, to allow him to stay in her home. That would be too much. So the alternative was to find a place just suitable enough, or see if he could afford to rent a space somewhere.
Then the subject of the conversation switched to her. Or rather her shop. There were no visible goods.
-"I do a variety of commissions such as armor, weapons, clothing, and other adventuring utility gear."-
That should have been sufficient to give him a good enough idea.

~"That's too bad, I'll just have to make due with whatever's available here, I'll be needing to make my way to Helkorth eventually. I just came from Sorath, not the best accommodations there, but they were okay."~
It seemed that she was of the blood that allowed her to function during the day. "Condition" he chuckled a bit on the inside. He had heard his day-blindness called many things, but the way she had referred to it was the first time he had heard such from one of his own kind. He realized he had been so happy she spoke their language that he had forgotten to introduce himself.
It seemed she could craft pretty much anything he might need. ~"I would like to make use of your services, I'm not particularly wealthy, but I can pay what little I have saved if you could make me some decent blades. The ones I have... they just feel wrong."~ He rose to his feet, ~"My name is Levistus, but you can call me Levi."~ He offered his hand in the direction of Allyria.
Meanwhile
After rearranging the merchants wares for the second time, the merchant was livid. He screamed into the marketplace warning whoever was messing with his stuff what exactly he would do to them if he caught them. The shadow laughed silently. He was getting bored again. What was his other self up to? Still talking to the lady, the lady who hadn't even noticed him. Maybe he should go play with her shadow? He didn't like being ignored when he didn't want to be...
He came to be next to her shadow, "groping" it in inappropriate ways. He hoped she would look over and see, he wanted her to see. He didn't want to be ignored, especially not by someone who had noticed his other self.

-"What are you looking for exactly? You say blades but that's vague. What do you mean the ones you have feel wrong? Do you want swords?"-
Ah, this was the most frustrating thing about a commission to Allyria. When someone wants something, but is too vague to actually give her specifics. Which meant one of two things. Either she was going to be given complete creative control. Or she was going to make something and he was going to hate it because it wasn't what he was looking for. If he was using cruinthian weapons that could explain why he felt uncomfortable with his weapons. They weren't what Drokagr were used to.
-"Something like a Cresfa, Mikan'ni or Creyya'ni?"-
Weapons he might be used to, something she could suggest. That would clear up her problem of no direction from the commissioner.
He had mentioned he had come from Sorath to Morith. Which meant he had arrived in Sorath from Korasus some kind of roundabout route like she did. Or maybe he had come from Fordeth? She had never been there. Now she had to know which direction he had come from to arrive in Sorath before Morith. She would assume that coming through the roads to the east of Morith would be the easier way to get to the city from Korasus. It was also safer to pass through the duchies.
-"Sorath? Where were you coming from?"-
She continued to ignore the shadow, mostly because she didn't know what was happening. She hadn't seen it in the first place, and didn't see it now.

She had hit the nail on the head. While the human short swords were, functional, they lacked the balance and aesthetic of the Cresfa. ~"My apologies. I trained with Cresfa in Korasus, but the blades were not mine to keep. When I left, I left with nothing. If you are able, I would like a pair of Cresfa."~
Depending on how they turned out, he may consider more, but first he wanted to see how the blades would turn out. He had some materials in mind, but they were somewhat difficult to obtain. He wasn't sure if he should ask or not, he had never commissioned anything before. He wasn't entirely sure he would be able to afford the blades if he asked for the handles to be made from ebony, the wood could be quite pricey. He also wasn't sure what material Allyria would choose for the blade itself. Hopefully she would work out the details with him before she began crafting.
Then she asked where he was coming from before Sorath. What was the name of that city? Hillsfar? Yeah, hillsfar. ~"I came to Sorath from Hillsfar. The journey was unreasonable, but I met much trouble trying to pass through the southern road. At the border of one of the cruilar counties, I was stopped by guards, or bandits in the guise of guards. I think they wanted my coin and seemed to be threatening to remove my head if I did not pay. I went the long way around to Sorath instead."~
Meanwhile...
Shadow was sad, the woman continued not to notice him. It was a defeat. An injury to his little psyche. He slowly drifted off trying to figure out where he had gone wrong, his arms crossed he thought and contemplated. Why hadn't he been noticed? Was he that insignificant? Was he not attention grabbing enough? The child had responded to his presence, the merchant too... well the merchant responded to the rearrangement of his wares and not really to shadow himself. Could it be that shadows were so insignificant as to not be noticed by adults? To be tuned out such that he might as well not exist? Such pondering filled his mind for a brief second, then he decided it could not be such, he was relevant. Then he went searching for someone to notice him.

-"A pair of Cresfa won't be hard. Steel is hard to come by here. I may have to go to Korasus to get it. No one sells refined steel here in Cruinthe. What I can produce quickly is a pair of Cresfa from iron. Sub-standard, but they may hold you over until I can appropriate some steel. The iron one's will be free. As an apology for the sub-standard metal."-
She would gladly make something out of iron for a human or other race if they didn't care what kind of material it was made out of. But when someone asked for Cresfa, it was important to make them out of the right materials. The right materials was steel and steel alone. Some that had money commissioned artistic inlays or handles or some such. This one didn't seem to have much money, as he hadn't bought his own Cresfa when he was in Korasus.
Then he told his story as to how he came to Sorath. It seemed that he intended to go the shorter path but was stopped by some border patrol. She had no idea which Duchy was out there, but from what she had heard locally was that almost all traffic from the eastern duchies and Korasus had stopped or slowed because of that duchy. The other road would take them through Fordeth, unless they crossed the wilds.
Like she did.
She wasn't sure if Levi used Cruilar meaning Cruinthians specifically or all humans. Instead of pressing the point she figured he was just angry as to being delayed. It wasn't his choice after all, to proceed north after being stopped. If that was his first impression of humans, well, she couldn't exactly blame him. But borders were a thing to be respect.
-"I guess some Hanneth don't like it when people cross their land without any control over the flow. We do the same thing at the Korasuan border, if you remember. No Hanneth or Elkagr enter our land without having to answer with coin or their life. There should be an alternate route around those mountains though. Perhaps there's a pass people don't know about."-
Now she was more or less talking to herself.
-"Um. Was there anything else? Aside from shelter, I mean."-

Her response caught him off guard, not that she would be able to make the blades, or even that she didn't have access to iron for the time being, but that she would give him iron Cresfa for free. Iron cresfa would serve him better than the two toothpicks he possessed now. ~"I am very gracious for the offer. Even iron Cresfa would be better than the swords I have now."~ He pulled one of the shortswords from his thigh, gently grabbing it by the blade before attempting to hand it to Allyria. ~"This is the best I have seen the Hanneth have to offer, it serves its purpose I suppose, but it does not compare to our blades."~
Allyria reminded him of the Korasuan border being much like the human duchy, ~" That is true, we do turn them away if they do not have anything to offer, but at least our borders speak the language of those who would pass through. These men simply yelled at me in their language until they gave up and resorted to signs. Pointing to my coin purse and making threatening gestures."~
He thought for a moment, he wanted to see the blades before he agreed to any additional commissions. ~"That is all I desire for the time being. In regards to shelter, anywhere with a bed will suffice. I just need a place that will keep me safe and allow me to sleep once the sun begins to rise.~
