Gabriel heard the sound of many a happy men and women from inside the tavern. He had came to the tavern on this cold and misty night to try to meet some of the locals. The more friends you had the less enemies you could get was what Gabriel always told himself.
He walked up to the door and pulled back the door to the sound of people drinking and having fun in the bar, and just in general enjoying themselves for the night after a hard day at work. The bar was lit up but not too bright. Gabriel hoped he wouldn't blend in too much wearing all black like he normally did.
He decided he would just be himself, well as much himself as a 23 year old male, who wears a dress and a corset with long hair can be. He looked round and everyone was in there little groups except a big group of people who were over in the corner of the bar dancing and looking like they had had too much to drink while the night was still young.
Gabriel walked up to the bar and sat down at the stall, waited for the bartender to finish serving a couple who had just came over, so he decided he would look around for anyone who looked friendly.

Yumi looked about, how had she got here? She vaguely recalled skipping along the street and humming a song, but now she was sat on the lap of an awfully shocked looking fellow, in some sort of bar it seemed. A few people were giving her some weird looks, but for the most part they were partaking in merry games and songs. The games included things which appeared along the lines of: 'Lets set fire to my beard', 'Lets find out the last thing I ate' and even 'Lets dance around half naked and sing weird songs'. The atmosphere was great, although she could sense a slight disturbance in the force from right next to her. Oh, it was the friends of the man she was sat on, she'd almost forgotten about him.
"Get your fat backside off my lap, you're gonna break ma legs love!"
His voice had an unknown accent, but he didn't seem so happy, meaning it was down to her to set things right. She stood up and pointed at him:
"Well maybe you should get stronger legs then!"
With that she left the normal world again and went back to the land of daydreams and making no sense. She hummed a theme which sounded mysteriously like a certain song which nobody knows the name of, but could probably be described as annoying. In the real world she had somehow managed to walk over to the bar and pull up a stool, sit down, and face plant in to the counter without regard for her own health. It was actually quite impressive she had made it that far, because usually she'd be walking into the wall by now or stamping on people's heads. Eventually she came back in to the real world with a shock and looked about before noticing a person next to her:
"Who're you?"

Gabriel had been in a day dream, quite a weird one actually, flying horses with horns on there heads and the all sort. Wasn't really sure what to think of it, then he was interrupted by a voice in front of him. He half jumped in his chair, as a girl with white flowing hair was stood in front of him. "err, hellu I'm Gabriel. Who are you?".
The girl looked nice, she defiantly wasn't an ugly one or someone he would say no too. He quickly looked her up and down. She was wearing a chequed shirt under a nice cardigan. He wondered if he had met this person before but passed it off with just having seen her around in town.

This particular establishment had cost him a days travel, but he had heard that it had decent mead. Teacher had kept bees and brewed his own, sometimes it would turn out well, others not so much. When it was good, it was amazing, and Torin missed it a great deal. Someday soon he would return to the cave and see what he could recover, if his master lived, but with the mage-hunters about, he thought it best to steer clear of it for now.
There were the odd people about, a commotion here and there as was supposedly expected of such establishments. It was Torin's first time in a tavern and he felt out of place, a fact that he tried to obscure by marching quite confidently to the bar, and probably in a rude manner by most peoples standards, a fact that Torin remained oblivious to, he cried out to the bartender, "Mead! Now!"
Now as is common when people are rude, the bartender ignored Torin, serving others while Torin remained un-meaded. Torin, who had not really practiced speaking to others, and rather thought most of them beneath him, did not take kindly to being ignored, so once more he yelled, rather rudely, "Are you deaf?!? I said I would like some Mead!" The bartender was none to happy, but saw that there was a certain tension building, and to avoid its further growth and the outbreak of a brawl, the bartender reluctantly served Torin his mead.

"Any idea where this place is? Kinda... How should I put it. Lost. Tha's the word!"
She smiled at whom she perceived to be a woman stood in front of her, with blonde long hair and some weird sorta clothing which personally she would never have worn. Smiling at her in an attempt to be cute she tried to get some answers from her, the usual where was she. She'd got used to asking that question by now, with all her misadventures in all sorts of places. For example just last week she'd managed to end up in some rich guys bathroom, had made it past his poorly paid security too! It had been a great laugh at the end of the day and he let her leave peacefully.
"I kinda walked in here, but I don't remember doing it..."
She remembered she should be courteous in her talking and stuck out a slightly sweaty small hand to shake the other woman's.
"How'd ya do by the way? The names Yumi, but you can call me... Err... Call me Yumi for short."
Somehow she felt she'd messed up her sentence somewhere, but didn't exactly care. Before she got a response she noticed a man wanting some drink beside her, he seemed peaceful enough, and probably cool in some ways. She gave him a brief smile for his time.

Gabriel giggled a bit at yumi. He liked her care free attitude and half spaced out way of thinking. Hopefully this would turn into a friendship of sort. Gabriel was about to ask her if she wanted a drink when he heard someone moaning at the bartender. He had got his drink in the end but Gabriel was amazed at the way some people acted, what had this world came too. Then he remembered he is a cross dressing theif
Gabriel quickly turned to the man, "You relise you don't have to be rude to the barkeep, he's just doing his job don't come in and be a dick to everyone. Trust me I have seen the dark side of this town, you don't want enemy's." Gabriel span back round on the stall to yumi. "Would you like to join me in some drinking of mead or another drink"
Gabriel hoped she would say yes so they could carry on chatting, but as always he kept an eye out in case of something. He had seen how the atmosphere in a bar can change. He didn't want to start anything dangerous

Yumi cringed a little, she could practically hear the spelling mistakes, and that was saying something. She sighed impatiently, placing her hand on her lap and pretending like she hadn't extended it in the first place, now feeling a little embarrassed. Of all people, the girl that could run around in next to nothing and feel no shame, could be made to feel awkward by a person like this. She sighed again and turned round to the woman who had now finished laying into the guy and was asking if she wanted a drink. Considering it for a while she eventually replied in a slightly sarcastic and irritated tone.
"Usually you'd reply with your name, or... Shake... Ugh fine I'll have a drink, but only if you're paying lady. Surprise me I guess... No poisonous stuff though, or I'll have ye head"
She placed her hand calmly down on the edge of the bar and slid a finger along it, checking for any dust; she found none. It was kind of refreshing to find a place not full of dirt. Suddenly an idea came to mind, and she moved up a stool towards the man who'd ordered a drink.
"Don't mind her. She... Well she can hear me for one... Probably... Anyway, Hi there"

"U relise you don't have to be rude to the barkeep, he's just doing his job don't come in and be a dick to everyone. Trust me I have seen the dark side of this town, you don't want enemy's."
The comment spun him a bit, rude? A bit unrefined... maybe, but rude, in his mind that was not really a possibility. He carried the manners and etiquette of a man who had been raised as a noble for six years and then was ripped out of that life and spent the next 18 with crass and craven man who had wanted an apprentice. "I dare say I am not rude, and while I may have a dick that certainly does not encompass the entirety of my existence. Perhaps you should mind your own business." He looked the woman over, and despite this being his first interaction with a female of similar age since he was a child, he found the woman unattractive, not that she wasn't prettyish, there was just something slightly off about her appearance that put Torin off.
The girl next to her was an entirely different story. As she approached, the confidence that had just been seething in the young man faded, his face became quite red and he started sweating quite awkwardly.
"Don't mind her. She... Well she can hear me for one... Probably... Anyway, Hi there"
Torin's mind raced with what to say, how to respond, but he had never found himself in such a situation, he had nothing to draw from, and he wasn't even quite sure why he was suddenly feeling the way he did. As a result his response to her was merely a sheepish, "Hi." He didn't even notice that her comment was not entirely coherent, he was more focused on her figure than her parlance. A fact that he was unable to conceal due to his lack of experience.

She couldn't help but chuckle at his response to the unnamed woman which she would now cool Rudealina. It was a fitting name and would stick until Yumi found her real name, and probably even a little further than that. The man had some style to his speech which some people could find kind of... What was the word...? Ah yes, rainbowey. Or colourful in other words. His hair was black though and didn't match his colourful nature, which was a real shame in some worlds, including this one. Nevertheless she sent a smile his way, noticing the singular word he spoke to her was full with nerves and confusion, or maybe pain, she could never tell.
"Hi... My names Yumi... And yours would be sir?"
She stuck her hand out in front of him and hoped to high heavens that it wasn't as sweaty as she suspected it would be. Perhaps she'd get a better response from this guy than from Rudealina who with any luck was getting them a drink of something non poisonous, unlike her tongue. She looked at the barkeep who really wasn't in the mood it looked like, which made her want to help him out. Unfortunately for him she was a lazy git and would not be getting off her behind until she could be bothered to.
"So... Tell me about yourself"
Her soft voice was the only one to make a noise in the bar, everybody had gone quiet for a moment. She looked about, it was for no reason at all it seemed, just one of those coincidences it seemed. She laughed it off and then made a rude gesture round the room before slouching forwards again, somehow still extending her arm.

Gabriel turned from the girl to the bar again. She had sat in between him and the guy who had been rude to the barkeep. Yumi was weird alright but a fun crazy he would call it, hoping it didn't get worse. He called the barkeep over and orders the 2 meads. She was talking to the other guy and straight away he could see that he was very red, very quick. Obviously he had taken a sort of liking to the girl. Gabriel couldn't see why he would though. He would never understand some men.
As Gabriel grabbed the two drinks from the barkeep he pushed one down the table towards yumi, quickly accompanying it with a "By the way Yumi, the names Gabriel. I asked for it to especially not be poison just for you." He chuckled at his own joke.
As Gabriel took a little sip and wiped away the froth at his upper lip he made it look like he was day dreaming to others while listening in to Yumi's and this other guys conversation

"Hi... My names Yumi... And yours would be sir?"
Torin sputtered a bit, he had not responded to such an inquiry, truly he had to think to even remember his own name, but that was a name he needed to keep to himself. The pause before his answer was awkward for two reasons, first he was just awkward talking to the girl and second he had to think of a name to give the girl. At last Torin responded, "My name is.. um... Francis. Nice... to make your acquaintance... Yumi."
"So... Tell me about yourself"
Torin almost spat the gulp of mead that he had just taken at the question. What could he tell? He needed to play it cool, he hadn't considered what his story would be if questioned, if he couldn't pass muster in a bar, how could he pass muster if he crossed paths with a mage-hunter. Suddenly it became a question of what would be believable. He wasn't a convincing liar, but he spat them anyways in the words that followed. "I'm a simple farmhand out of Mardok. Nothing too interesting about me." He really needed to work out his backstory should anyone press further.
Lying: hmm, easy, charisma 15 + easy 15= 30 threshold, It was believable.

Yumi made a half hearted attempt to smile at Rudealina who was also now known as Gabriel. The name really didn't suit her, partially because she lacked the wings required to live up to that name she felt. Her attempt at a joke didn't really feel that great either, but she did a nod of appreciation her way all the same. Next on the agenda, have a drink. She took a sip of the drink; bitter. The taste wasn't exactly her favourite, but it was bearable and she'd had worse, although somehow all she could think of was Rudealina whilst tasting it. Nevertheless she found a place in her heart to make the woman happy, and so she downed the drink without many regrets, apart from maybe that time she... Did something... That apparently she couldn't remember.
"Thanks for that, probably good for the airways or something, wouldn't ya say?"
She still didn't know where they were, but she'd find a way around that somehow. Turning to the man, she listened to the struggle he had with saying his name, it could have been seen as cute perhaps, especially by some women. Her on the other hand hardly noticed it and kept up the confidence and questions. She decided asking this... Francis about where they were wouldn't be such a bad idea. If he worked on a farm he must know something about where they were, although she hadn't seen any farms nearby, or anything for that matter. She never say anything anyway.
"Why aren't you on the farm now then? Besides there's gotta be something interesting about you! Talking of interesting, where exactly is here? I don't exactly know..."

Yumi asked a lot of questions and Gabriel could tell this man was nervous. Gabriel just sat there giggling in his head still half day dreaming half listening while taking a sip of mead every so often. The conversation between Yumi and the guy was plain and not really that interesting but Gabriel was wondering if it could hype up at any time or something would happen. Yumi was defiantly a special one, but Gabriel couldn't put his finger on it. Maybe it was her behaviour, maybe her unique and out of the this world clothing. He would figure it out, he just had to wait.
Gabriel looked round the bars for any females, or males, that he may take a liking too. Some he looked at twice but none a third time. Anyway he would put most people off because of his cross dressing. Which a lot of people found weird, and he couldn't blame them.
As Gabriel finally finished his mead he left it on the bar for the barman next to Yumi's. Mead was an alright drink. Common, and plain tasting and had lost its excitement from when you first start drinking it at a young age. Now back to Yumi and this other guy. Gabriel betted with himself whether the guy found Yumi attractive. Gabriel wondered how Yumi would act. Had she ever had a man like that before. She did sound and look naive enough , but for now. It was a waiting game

Torin was about to say something more when Yumi turned her attention back to the other girl. Torin took the opportunity to down a generous portion of his mead. The sweetness of the drink masking the gentle tingle of the alcohol, regardless it settled his nerves a bit. He found Yumi to be quite odd, as if from another world... her name even felt odd to his ears and tongue. Were all girls as she was, airy? As if their thoughts were blowing around in the wind, here one second and gone the next? He doubted it, but the thought still crossed his mind. When Yumi turned her attention back to him it was to ask another question, err series of questions...
"Why aren't you on the farm now then? Besides there's gotta be something interesting about you! Talking of interesting, where exactly is here? I don't exactly know..."
Torin took another drink of his mead, giving himself enough time to think up another lie. "I asked my employer for a holiday, he was reluctant, but here I am drinking mead. As to where we are, not sure if I've made it out of Mardok Duchy yet, but this place has gotta be close to its borders." The alcohol gave him a touch of confidence he had been lacking only moments before.
Lying: 30 threshold I'm a pretty damned good liar.

"Employer hey? I took you to be a leader sort of man. It doesn't matter though. And thanks for the information, I have to admit I'm not one for noticing my surroundings..."
She smiled and winked at him, wondering how he'd react to it if he noticed it at all. It wasn't every day a girl politely winked at you, or maybe it happened to him all the time, in which case he'd react as if nothing had happened perhaps. Next, without much thought behind it she said:
"I'm still listening, I'm just gonna..."
Before waiting to finish her sentence she allowed her head to drop onto the bar and her eyes shut. It was almost impressive how fast she could go from entertained to bored, and it wasn't exactly the fault of anyone there, it was more of just a general thing. She longed for the day she met someone who interested her, but she could sense that would be a long time coming, and by then she would have something else to do. She wondered what Rudealina was thinking, and Francis too. Perhaps they were thinking of unicorns and rainbows, perhaps.
