Arthurius just sort of stood there, they were making his gear and the Skaldi seemed to have very quickly become integrated in with Tyr, it was curious as the Skaldi was quite freely using magic eventhough surely it would be considered illegal for him to do so, the rule specifically said humans so that could be a potential loophole in the laws. It was cleverly done, and it wasn't as if he himself wasn't a fan of magic, although what he could do was rather insignificant at this point compared to most other mages, the lack of a decent teacher had left him rather weak in this area.
But it seemed that Tyr had no problem with magic, maybe he could mention this fact to Tyr and the man would keep it safe, maybe the Skaldi and he could even exchange notes and teach each other something new, Arthurius opened his mouth to reveal his secret before promptly closing it once again. He held himself back, it was a secret he'd kept for many years and one he would probably keep for many more, it was almost a part of him and he didn't want to release it out into the world, even to someone such as Tyr who probably would not treat him any differently for it.
Tyr's comment about only having one more piece left after the spear fell on him though, maybe he needed a few more bits, he'd rather be more prepared than neccessary than find himself without something later, "A travelling pack could well be useful, both for the job you would like my help with and for my own errands. I'm unsure if there will be anything else that I have particular need of, it seems like you've made me almost anything I will require for this moment in time, nothing sticks out in my mind particularly."

The Skaldi could enchant things, now that was interesting. There could be some serious use for that in the future, if it could be harnessed properly. As far as Tyr understood magic it opened the doors of creation to the limits of your imagination, provided you were capable enough to cast what was needed. But all of this was dependent on Tyr getting Ssryl to work with him. That would be a discussion for behind closed doors though.
"No, no that's alright. How callous of me, I assume you just came in from the road and here I am having you do things for me. Please, sit. Rest some and I'll get this finished. Then we can talk." Tyr perked up at Arthurius request for a pack. That would be a lovely thing for Tyr to have himself, but right now he lacked the materials to make a good one. He had to ration his leather supply out until he could get more from Kable. Maybe another supply order was due.
"A pack will have to wait. I lack the materials to make a good one, and I'd rather not waste what I have on something that will only half accomplish what it needs to." Getting a bunch of cotton from Kable would help, that could easily satisfy his needs for pack materials. Later though, belt first.
Making the belt was simple enough, a leather band with metal plates wrapped around it. Tyr had adjusted the concept from the last time he tried it, the plates no longer closed over the leather entirely on the back but clasped against each other instead. No risk of burning the leather, and no risk of them flying off during action.
Plate belt from 4 iron and 2 leather. Simple (30) + K (20) + Knowledges (IronM/TanII/ArmorIII=45) + Forge (5) + Race (5) = DC 105 Pa4Kh3Uc Success. Masterwork check. DC 55, three degrees possible.
Two earned.
Superior Plate Belt (4I2L): 50 DR, 15 small slots. Req 20 Str, 10 Agi, 10 K.
The belt was complete, work was done. Now for the fun bit of math that would be figuring out how much all of this cost. He'd used a total of 32 iron and 6 leather making everything, factor in the cost of each piece, a bit of profit, some payment for Ssryl's work...
"The bunch will cost you 350 Ritz. Deal?" ·

"No, no that's alright. How callous of me, I assume you just came in from the road and here I am having you do things for me. Please, sit. Rest some and I'll get this finished. Then we can talk."
"Truly, Ssryl does not mind. Though I have been on the road, it is good to have work again. Ssryl has felt out of place on the road, Ssryl is happy to be working at a forge."
Ssryl took Tyr's advice though and sat down while Tyr worked. He addressed the other man while Tyr worked on the belt, "Ssryl have enough energy to maybe try one more enchantment, Ssryl not the best, but maybe better than no enchantment? Ssryl know words about raw magic, words about protection, and words about fire. You let Ssryl know what you want and Ssryl at least try."
Meanwhile it seemed there was some truth to Ssryl's suspicions about holding the Duke back. He had not assisted with the belt, but it seemed to match the mastery seen in some of the other pieces. Then the price for the services came, 350 ritz, that was quite the hefty sum. Ssryl wasn't very good with math, but he knew the value of a ritz and he knew how large of a number 350 was, would the man even have that kind of coin?

"Lack of materials is a barrier that all have to face at some point, maybe i'll come back at a later point and hopefully you'll have the materials then" Arthurius chimed in, having some input into what was going on once again, now that he was more comfortable with the Skaldi being there and the fact that it was very useful.
Arthurius turned to the Skaldi, "If you wouldn't mind i'd very much appreciate it if you could try and enchant my spear? I would be willing to compensate you with coin if that is what you wish, although I understand that magic doesn't always work so I wont think any worse if you don't want to or if the enchantment doesn't stick." Arthurius decided that it would be useful if he could have a little more power in his weapon, presuming that the Skaldi could enchant it with any sort of magic that would be useful to a weapon, "Preferably some sort of offensive magic boost if at all possible."
He then turned to the Duke and drew out a small pouch from the recess of his clothing, depositing it on the table in front of the duke, "Payment as promised, and as soon as you're ready i'll help you with that mining trip that you were talking about, just give me a time and a place to meet you." Arthurius picked up his new weapon, turning it in his hands and swinging it gently, spinning it on his hands. Even to someone such as him who was unused to using weapons at all he could feel that it was a well made piece, it looked as if it could inflict some serious damage if he could learn how to use it. Arthurius tentatively held it out to the Skaldi, hopeful that it'd come back better.

"Offence, fire then." Ssryl took the spear in hand and began chanting the few arcane words that he knew over the weapon. "Infundo arma cum ignis." He chanted the words over and over, he felt the energy releasing from deep within himself, whether it would hold or not would be seen shortly. It was fairly similar to the chant he had done over the forge and boots already, hopefully his magic would work here. He wanted to make the spears blade glow with heat whenever it was wielded, making it burn those it was wielded against.
Enchant: 2dFHtxa1 k: 15; Thaumaturgy I, Artificing I, Fire I; Threshold 30+difficulty bonus/penalty Success unless hard or difficult, assuming success for now.
The spears blade began to turn red, letting off a radiant heat. Ssryl sat the weapon down, the glow and heat quickly dissipated. "Ssryl believe spear hold enchantment. Spear should burn those spear is wielded against, be careful when use spear, even slight touch to spearhead while use spear can leave scar."
Ssryl gains Thaumaturgy II & Fire II- +4 Stat Points!!!- MOD
Success: +10 Fire Damage on the spear.

With the pieces finished and money changed hands, Tyr's role in this was done. He waved Sreal forward to try his hand at the magic. If the Skaldi wanted to perform such a service he could, and he was free to charge whatever he wanted for it. Leaning against the wall by his forge the Duke watched the magic happen, wondering what it was like to be able to perform such feats. He lacked the ability himself and had only what his hands could produce. Magic seemed like such a fantastic tool to have at your disposal.
When the enchantment seemed to hold onto the spear, Tyr's eyebrows lifted a bit. Seeing the heat glow off the spear when it was held, the tangible proof of a magical enchantment, it was seeing a wonder for the first time. This exchange was not his to run though, so all he could do now was watch. Tyr wanted to see how the Skaldi handled selling his own services.

"Ssryl never have chance to sell enchantment before, Ssryl's master sell enchanted pieces much more than normal. As Ssryl's first customer, Ssryl offer for 25 ritz. Next time cost more." Ssryl picked the weapon back up, having demonstrated the magic worked as intended he held the spear horizontally, the spearhead beginning to glow a dull red once more. He moved to hand the spear to the customer.
"Ssryl never get name of customer, how should Ssryl call you?" Ssryl towered over the human, making nearly two of the man in bulk. He waited to see if the human accepted the price, which by all accounts he should, his master had charged up to two hundred ritz extra for enchanted pieces, splitting the profit with the mage-hunter. Offering at such a low price now might help bring in more business for both himself and the duke once word spread that he had an enchanter in his employ. Hopefully such advertisement wouldn't bring trouble with it, but the duke looked capable, not someone easily bullied. Ssryl didn't want to undersell himself either, properly equipped, his massive frame would make him more than a handful for anyone who would come for him specifically.

Arthurius gazed at his now heated spear, so some sort of fire enchantment had been put upon it. Learning enchantments was something that he could do which could be particularly useful if he could manage, but as it stood right now he had very little talent for magic, nor did he have the resources or the inclination to practice it. It was just part of him, he didn't seek to grow it nor to expand it, he was content with his alchemy for now.
"25 gold, I'll happily pay that, here's an extra 5 for your work." Arthurius handed the Skaldi the money, it was nice that the Skaldi had found a place to work, and Tyr didn't seem like the kind of person to treat the Skaldi in the ways that most Skaldi seemed to be treated, he wold treat Ssryl as a worker not a slave.
"I'm Arthurius, and I expect you'll be seeing rather a lot of me if you can enchant objects, with Tyr's amazing armour and your enchanting of it you two are a very good team."
