When he awoke on the fourth day of his travel it took him only a few minutes to douse his fire and smother it in earth before he shouldered his pack and carried on moving through the dense forest. The trees around him were quite impressive and at some points he was tempted to have a go at them with the bone axe that he carried in his pack, if he could get some fresh lumber from them then he could attempt a few of the other constructions that he'd been planning for a while. Still it was a job better done at night when he had time to kill anyway rather than during the day wasting time that could be spent walking ever closer to his current goal that was Morith.
All in all it was just a trudge through the leaf covered ground, his armoured claws snapping twigs beneath his feet and crunching leaves with enough noise to warn anyone within a several miles radius that there was something big walking through the woods. If he wanted to do any hunting here then he was going to have some serious trouble it seemed, how he'd manage to find any prey when they could hear him coming so easily was a problem he'd have to solve, likely using traps looking at how the fallen leaves and twigs obscured most of the ground under them it'd probably be easier to set a trap under the blanket that covered the forest floor.
When evening came around he'd light a fire once again and this time try to cook the two portions of Skoolmak meat that he'd managed to butcher from it's corpse. He'd turn it's power into his own now, and save himself a few meals in the process if he could cook it right.

The next day was tinged still with the upset of having ruined the two pieces of Ithe meat he'd procured on the day previous, it seemed that Ithe meat cooked differently to the rabbit, deer and boar he'd been eating thus far and he'd managed to screw it up for not knowing the correct way to cook it. His supplies weren't as large has he'd been hoping they'd be and with all of the walking he was doing were dwindling far faster than he would have liked, hopefully in a forest of this size there would be something he could find to eat, be it some prey he could hunt or some fruits or the like that he could scrounge up to eat.
It seemed that the day would pass once again without any trouble, the main problem he was thinking of so far was maybe next time he had to manage a journey of this size he should have come better prepared. How he'd made it from Morith to Mardok so easily was unexplainable with how the return journey had been, an encounter with a Skoolmak and a lack of food had definitely made the journey interesting if not all that fast nor comfortable.
Still, before making camp for the night Kreans took out his primary spear given to him by the Lord Mardok and tried the best he could to quieten his footsteps in the leaves, the leaves that also presented a challenge as tracks were harder to come by than normal. Still, he was a hunter by nature so if there was something to be found out there he'd find it.

As soon as the rabbit was caught he'd sit down to eat the final ration of meat left in his pack, butchering the rabbit afterwards and storing away the materials he'd gotten from it, until he had some wood or iron there wasn't that much that he could do. For now he'd just rest for the next day's march.·····

With some food in his pack Kreans now felt substantially happier about travelling, it wasn't a huge amount but it'd do for now until he could hunt again this evening and hope he could find more. Of the various fruits, flowers and other plant based items he came across for the most part he didn't know what ones would be a good source of food and what might poison him or otherwise harm him so for now he'd have to not eat any of the plants around him unless he became truly desperate and it was a last resort situation. Still, with his confidence in his ability to hunt he was fairly sure he could continue finding enough prey to keep himself fed till Morith, and maybe even some extra so that he wouldn't have to spend the ritz once he was inside the town on food for himself.
While he walked Kreans scanned his surroundings, ears craning for the slightest sound of ambush that could herald another Skoolmak or even another Dragonfruit Monster jumping at him out of the trees to turn him into prey. Of course with the power he'd gained for himself and been given by the Lord he was fairly sure most of the things he'd come across would have great trouble turning him into prey, he was usually the hunter and didn't intend to change that.
Once he'd picked a temporary sleeping spot for himself, one that seemed moderately comfortable and provided good lines of sight, Kreans set up his trap a distance from the camp while he busied himself with making a fire and eating the meat he'd gotten the last night from the rabbit.

When he'd finished with lighting the fire and clearing an area as well as he could of leaves to place his sleeping mat on Kreans went to check the trap, luckily finding a rabbit caught in there that he ended with a swift snap of it's neck before taking to it with his Prey Knife. Once all the work was done disassembling the rabbit he'd again turn in for the night.···

By the end of his eightth day of travel Kreans had reached the outer edge of the Mallon forest. The light was just beginning to fade as he stood on the boundary between the forest and plains that would lead him to Morith, now he was close enough to almost think he could see the city and the various holes and issues he would be expected to help fix when he got there in the name of the Lord Mardok. It would be interesting indeed, last he'd seen the city it's walls had been a mess of holes as had some of the buildings inside, it would take a lot of work to fix it all up properly.
For now it wasn't his concern, he wasn't in the city yet, he was still a ways away from the area and it's protection if he figured rightly, so, for now, he still needed to be careful of the various monsters and bandits that could seek to stop him from reaching Morith. His sleeping place had been picked as one again that would give him clear views around himself when he woke up, so far nothing had succeeded in bothering him during the night, anything that had tried he'd simply woken up and growled till it ran, they were no problem to him.
His axe wouldn't last long but he'd take advantage of the dense forest while he still had a chance, the axe was likely to break without doing too much work so he'd do what he could and then call it a day.

Shouldering his pack the next morning was an exercise in itself, where before it had contained mostly skins, ingredients and meats now the two logs he'd harvested the previous day were in the leather pack and poking into his back anytime he improperly cushioned them in it. Kreans had taken to wrapping the two useable pieces of wood in some of the leather he'd procured from his hunting as that way it was wedged into place somewhat better and if it did bounce into his back due to how he was travelling then the impact was far less than it would have been just through the leather sides of his pack.
Unfortunately he'd had to leave the ruined remains of his bone axe behind, it had taken these two pieces out of the tree just barely and broken up from the force of his swings against the hard wood, if the pick axe were as brittle then he'd soon have to find himself some iron in Morith or it's surroundings to make himself a proper set of tools to gather materials with. Coin was something that he didn't have in abundance and so gathering his own woods and metals to accopmany those other materials he could get from his hunting would have to be done himself rather than simply buying them. Maybe if there were materials left over from the reconstruction he was being tasked with he could take some for his own use, or barter a reduced price with whoever handled the materials, that would definitely be useful to him as bone and leather could only get him so far.

The remainder of his travel passed without event. Kreans made good time across the plains around Morith and up to the entrance proper, stopping only to eat and sleep as he drew nearer to the goal of this particular journey. If there was one major thing he'd now discovered it was that he desperately needed a mount of some kind, he'd be able to cover much longer distances and with far less effort spent on his part that would leave him fresh for anything he actually needed to do. As he was now after nearly two weeks of walking it was unlikely that he'd be able to perform the the best of his ability in the reconstruction efforts straight away, if anything he'd prefer a few days of rest before he started but knew it was unlikely he'd allow himself the luxury when he could be completing his objective.
Stood outside the western entrance Kreans surveyed the wall, on this section there were some fairly obvious signs of damage and if the rest was similar, barring the huge gaps he already knew to be in the walls at places, then he was going to have his work cut out for him aiding in the reconstruction of it all. That wasn't even including the damage to the interior of Morith, surely that would have come out quite severe, he'd only seen a small portion of it last time he had been in the city to tutor it's Lord. Either way now he was here at Morith after so long in the wilds between here and Mardok, for now he'd remove himself from the gateway by an hours walk and start gathering wood for a small campfire and settling himself down to rest.
