Typically that's an environmental thing. Take a tavern thread for example, most indoors would be dark enough that you could see, but it wouldn't be perfect. There would still be candles and lamps and such illuminating the room. Not so much in a Drokagr city, some rooms would be without light at all as it's unnecessary. Indoors at night with candles for lighting should probably be the brightest you can operate in. Personally, if my character had dark vision, I would avoid going out before sundown. Or wear a blindfold.

So basically, anything brighter than moonlight is like having a floodlight pointed right in my face and don't count as darkness.

Yeah, kinda. Think about it like night vision goggles. Most sources of light will be bright spots in a dark environment. But if it's otherwise dark you can see perfectly fine. But they're totally useless in the day.

Can a PC's NPCs enter an event in the absence of the PC? and if they are able, how do stat rewards work in that situation?
I ask because Asmat is heading to Innorsford to try and secure a supply of fresh-ish meat as they are the closest vendors of food I see. While their I was thinking he could get roped into a diplomatic mission.

While their I was thinking he could get roped into a diplomatic mission. Missions are more or less intended for Player characters, as such, any rewards gained would be for the player characters only. Also, standard death rules would apply to the NPC. As such it is possible that Asmat could die permanently in the thread, especially if killed by another player. As this mission is merely a diplomatic one, monster class enemies and player characters are the only potential foes that are there. I don't recommend leaving an NPC in a mission by themselves. Also, you can purchase food directly from the administration if your character owns property with a kitchen. As noted here: All you need to do is ask and you'll be provided with the list, and you may purchase anything off the list in as much quantity as you like so long as you have the space and funds.
