The sky was bright and the sun was lowering, not quite at sunset yet on it's way down, a heavy wind blew through, chilling Jonathon even through the various layers he wore, the wind creating ominous noises that Jonathon couldn't confidently say were normal, yet still. He liked it.
Jonathon stopped to admire the view, it was quite nice being away from the city, in fact this was the furthest he had gone from the capital in a great many years, and part of him just wished that he could carry on walking away. But no, he still had things to do before he could leave this city, one of them having to do with the young woman who was walking with him. It'd been a day of rather brisk walking and they were quite far from the city now, whilst still in the province if his estimates were correct they were in outlying land where the rule of the city was much weaker. Gabriel had said that she knew somewhere to hunt out here, so this is where they'd ended up going.
Jonathon's allowed himself a small smile at the warm feeling in his legs and the content ache from using his muscles, he hadn't walked this far in a while, it was nice to be given free rein of the land and that was exactly what he was taking advantage of now. One of the pros of being a mage hunter was that it allowed you a lot of freedom to travel, that was something that Jonathon was looking forward to utilising once he'd done all he needed to here, maybe even with Gabriel if she proved to be useful enough to him.
"Is this where you meant?" He half shouted back to her, trying to be heard to the wind, he was content to walk more if need be but if this was the right place then it was the right place. Easy as.

It was quite windy on this, Gabriel brushed his hair back and checked his armour once again. He had stopped just behind Jonathon. They must have been a weird sight, but they had a job to do. Gabriel had spoken to Jonathon about hunting, he needed a partner, it was too dangerous to go alone (take this) and he needed someone to watch his flank. The two of them seemed strong enough to go it alone. Gabriel hoped to find some stuff to kill, but not to be overloaded.
Gabriel quickly looked around. He had spent a lot of his time on the outskirts of the cities in his life. He had learnt a bit, but it was always so unpredictable that no matter how much you knew, there was always a new surprise just around the corner waiting to catch you. "Yes, this should be the place for gathering, I mean hunting. Hopefully there should be something out here that will make a good day for us." Gabriel giggled, he had done a bit too much gathering lately, but he was happy that he had some dragonfruits in his pack.
"Jonathon do you have any of these?" Gabriel held out two dragonfruits for Jonathon to take. "Take them anyway, an old friend said to me that when you are in trouble, that you should have one of these and you will feel better and full of energy. I have never tried myself but who can guess if he was right." Gabriel knew that he had a lot of them in his pack and could spare two.
Gabriel held tight to Sally's handle, he needed to be alert just in case. You could always be jumped on from anywhere, you needed your senses about you.

"I mean no offence here Gabriel but out if the two of us I believe I may be the one better trained in fighting, although I am sure you are capable yourself i was tainted as a Mage hunter, it's not an easy job" Jonathon drew out his boot knife in one hand and his arming sword in the other, going for duel wielded for now as he had no form of defence anyway so attempting some was useless, if the worst came to it he could block with a weapon or dodge, he was hoping though they'd mostly be on the offensive.
Dark energies writhed around the sword in his hand, put their by his own hand, he was unsure how much extra they would actually do but either way at the very least they would look intimidating, if you can intimidate someone then that's half of the battle won already, mind battles come before the physical.
"So long as we both sufficiently cover the others back there shouldn't be anything out here that could cause a significant threat to us, and if there is then we retreat whilst covering one another, a airily easy game plan but I don't anticipate us coming up against much had opposition" SM: 34/36

Gabriel knew Jonathon was right in how he was more trained for the job, but Gabriel's was bigger. Jonathon had magic but who knew how well that would go as Gabriel had not seen him use anything that could do any real damage. Gabriel pulled out Sally while listening to Joanthon's plan.
"All sounds good to me, we always have a chance to back out we shouldn't go too deep and put ourselves in too much danger. Also, I know you have the experience, but remember you have been taught in an academy I had to live out here for a while. I'm on my home turf right now."
Gabriel did not want all the power in the friendship, like Jonathon would give that over, but he wanted to be seen as an equal and Jonathon needed to know he couldn't walk all over Gabriel. Anyway they needed to focus, Gabriel kept a tight grasp on Sally and kept checking all sides just in case, you never know when something may happen, Gabriel had to be quick on her feet. His reactions had to be perfect for him to be the first to strike.

Jonathon tried to open himself up, stretching out his mage senses to see around him for anything, hopefully there'd be something around for them to hunt. He extended his senses, it was something he'd only recently awakened to and still he wasn't sure if it actually worked as he had yet to try it in an actual setting.
"Stay calm is the main thing about fighting, you lose yourself then you lose the fight, then you become animal food. No one wants to be animal food. Keep together as much as we can if at all possible, strength is in numbers in our case, we should also have intelligence on our side assuming our opponents aren't human themselves. Keep an eye out." He of couse ignored her comment about her being on her home turf, he was not interested particularly in that particular fact, it was not important to him.
Jonathon figured the animals may need a bit of prompting so taking his sword in one hand he banged his knife against it repeatedly to make noise, clanging them together several times before settling into a ready stance and hoping something would come.

Silence was around Gabriel, nothing. Hmmm, there had to be something somewhere around here. Gabriel kept forward still banishing Sally. Letting her glint the sun off as it was flying high in the sky. Gabriel listened to Jonathon's words and hung onto every word of it. Now the game got serious, they both knew that at any time something could happen. You could feel a different atmosphere around them.
"Silence before the storm hey, we will find something we just have to wait." Gabriel tapped her sword against her leg a few times making a little noise in case that helped attract something. Anything right now, Gabriel would prefer to know where the enemy is than not knowing if there is one at all, right now he had the chills and there was only one way they would be cured.
"Jonathon remember we stay together and fight as a team, Cover your tank before you flank." Gabriel didn't know if anything else will be said, but they both knew how dangerous this was getting.

"What do you mean cover your tank, neither of us are tanks, you make absolutely no sense no matter how much you think you do." Jonathon said in a low tone, directing his words at Gabriel yet keeping his eyes and attention elsewhere waiting for something to appear. Had he not been loud enough, nothing was coming, maybe he should try again.
Jonathon felt light in his supple leather armour, it was a nice feeling, it meant he could be agile hopefully and avoid anything coming his way, Gabriel also seemed to prefer speed over blocking or relying on armour, he found it to be a much better way as there's no need for heavy armour if you're to fast to be hit.
Jonathon clanged together his weapons once again, hopefully they would work properly this time, he could only hope he supposed, if they had wasted their whole day coming out here then he wasn't going to be happy.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGHHHHHHHH" Jonathon let out an almost bestial shout, maybe that would make something come. Who cared if he looked or sounded like an idiot, not him, he was all about the goal didn't care how he got there.

Still nothing, this only made Gabriel worry. They couldn't waste the whole day for nothing. Gabriel had been excited for this. "Doesn't have to make sense to help you out" Gabriel kept her eyes peeled ready for anything.
Gabriel checked her armour quickly to see if it all seemed to be in working condition, good Gabriel couldn't have any failures during the battle or something serious could happen. Gabriel thought back to meeting Tyr. He was a nice guy, and one of the only ones to know he wasn't a girl. Gabriel wondered if Jonathon had any thoughts on it. Properly not. Tyr had been nice to Gabriel and the armour and Sally seemed to be in mint condition.
Gabriel jumped a little from Jonathon's shout but Gabriel not wanting to be outdone also let out a beastly shout from within "RRRRRRRROOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRR!!!" Gabriel felt good after that, but it was cut short by his corset. Now they just had to see if any monsters would do anything

"Still notihng.....nothing at all....we've made enough noise surely." Jonathon stood there, completely unbelieving in the fact that nothing had come even after all the noise they were making, surely something would at least come to have a look at what was happening surely at the least, or was he that inexperienced at hunting.
He held himself strong, he was not going home without having hunted something. He had planned his day like that and who did nature think it was to get in his way, he wanted to hunt and so he was going to hunt, whether nature and the creatures liked it or not.
Jonathon began clanging his weapons together and stamping about, shouting at the top of his lungs, "AAAAAAARRGHGHHHH" In an attempt to make as much noise as he could. Again, he didn't care what he looked like, he purely cared about achieving his goals, and no one was around anyway to see him other than Gabriel so what did it matter anyway.

"'Ey... whaddya suppose those idiots are doing roaring n'shit over there?"
"Askin' to get robbed and stuck... That's what. Come on, let's kill 'em and take their stuff."
That about summed up what they attracted with themselves being loud. A group of bandits that had no problem leaving their bodies in the middle of nowhere, stripped and bare. There were three of them. They were each armed and armored. Two came from the front, and one from the back. The grassy plains of Havenaild provided no real cover. It was clear there was going to be a fight. Each of the three bandits had a different weapon, all of them wore hard leather armor over their clothes. One with a mace, another with a sword, and the third with an axe.
"C'mon pretty girl. I'll let you have the first go."
The one with the sword said. He approached Gabriel head on.
"You're mine, fucker."
The one with the axe said approaching Jonathon.
Bandits: 3 Bandit A 100% Bandit B 100% Bandit C 100%
Tutorial:
This is the outset of combat. From here on out until both of you are dead or until all three bandits are dead or have fled your stats are locked, and your equipment and skills are locked. You must post your stats in every post. Every full action you take drains your stamina by five, and every post still drains your stamina by 1. Remember to use non-definitive terms when describing your characters actions, such as "he would slash" etc. This is because your entire post may be negated due to initiative rules (see players guide). Your character only gets three full actions per turn.

Jonathon stood still as they approached, so their shouting hadn't attracted any animals, in fact it had attracted three men. From the cut of their cloth and the fact that their weapons were already drawn as they approached, they were not friendly men by any stretch of the imagination.
Jonathon took a few seconds, human targets were more exciting than animals, they were also more of his forte considering they were what he had been trained to fight, trained to kill in his job. Both of Jonathon's blades moved around to the front of him as he lowered into a fighter's stance, he knew what he was doing here.
From a quick examination of the men, each was wearing some form of basic leather armor, not to different to what he was, the three men each carried a different weapon, one a mace, one an axe and one a sword, the mace he would need to watch as it would be unlikely he could block it with the swords he carried, the swordsmen would be an ideal matchup for him but of course lady luck wasn't his fondest companion and so the axeman came for him.
It seemed that the mace-wielder was hanging back, was he their leader and just doing as leaders did and giving orders from the back, or was he merely waiting to see which fight needed him most before going to reinforce there. Hopefully they could end this quickly, and Jonathon was hoping he wouldn't have to use his magic, then he'd have to make sure none of them escaped for definite, that and anyone in the area would be able to know what he was doing rather easily. "Let's dance, Piggy" Jonathon said with a slightly maniacal grin on his face, the thrill of combat was something incredibly enjoyable for him.
Jonathon reacted exactly as he had been taught, if you stay on the back step and focus on reacting then you are playing to the others tune, you must set the song and make your opponent dance to it. Jonathon waited for the man to come within reach before aiming a rapid slice to his neck, hoping to end his life quickly, followed up with an attempted knife to the stomach, if he was still alive to receive it that was. Jonathon would then jump back, if the man had enough wind left in him he would try to dodge out of any attacks that came his way.

Gabriel heard the three men just before he saw them. Animals seemed to not be on the cards today. All their noise making had attracted these three men instead of some livestock. Gabriel had to quickly give them all a once over. They had come out of hiding with their weapons drawn which already sent alarm bells off in Gabriel's head. Thugs or bandits, it had to be. Pity thieves looking for an easy buck.
Gabriel quickly calmed himself, he had not been expecting human targets, but it made the whole game a bit more fun. Gabriel gave a glance towards Jonathon, he seemed to be controlling himself. Gabriel wondered what was going on in his mind, he didn't seem to have many emotions. Maybe he had killed before. Well hopefully he wouldn't let his side down.
Gabriel got more into a fighting stance with weight more on her back leg to be able to get movement quicker and had Sally in a better position to attack or to defend. From the look of the men they seemed to have weaker armour than Gabriel. Hopefully Sally would not be affected by it a lot and Gabriel's armour would block off any attacks. Gabriel kept his spare arm to his side so it was not left out in the open, but could still be used for if Gabriel needed to grab something.
The men all seemed to have different low ranged weapons at their disposal. This was good as it mean they would not get attacked from afar. The weapons they all held still looked dangerous and looked like they could cause some serious damage. Gabriel just needed to keep out of the way of them.
The man with the sword came towards Gabriel first while the axe-man approached Jonathon. "C'mon pretty girl. I'll let you have the first go." Gabriel had no doubt that he would still give it his all to take her down. Gabriel then replied while readying to have the first strike at the man. "Awww I'm flattered, thank you. I mean I could fix your face with a few swipes with my sword. Don't go easy on me though."
Gabriel hoped that Jonathon would handle the other person fine, Gabriel then realised that the third man was still standing behind, they would have to be careful that he didn't flank, "Remember to be careful of the third" Gabriel quickly said to Jonathon quietly so the men didn't hear.
Gabriel then quickly lunged at the swordsman's chest with Sally going for a slashing attack to try and pierce and damage the man, then Gabriel quickly brought Sally back with the flick of the wrist, followed by his arm to bring the sword in a arc to hopefully slice the man's neck to damage him severely. While doing that Gabriel made sure that she would still have his weight on his back leg so if the man would try to counter he would be able to try and dodge his attack or onslaught to not be hurt.

The fight broke out and everything went to shit. Jonathon's first attack was a miss, but his second struck his foe in the shoulder. The armor there protected the bandit a little and blood seeped from the wound slowly. Unfortunately for Jonathon the Bandit followed up with an attack that was devastating. With his axe the first swing cleaved into Jonathon's shoulder, and the second bit through his skull dealing catastrophic damage. Jonathon was down in a rapidly expanding puddle of his own blood. Gabriel managed to stab his opponent in the crotch, hampering their mobility and opening up a large blood vessel that bled profusely. That bandit's retaliatory attacks were pitiful. While the first one missed entirely the second one glanced off Gabriel's armor easily. From behind the other bandit moved and rushed Gabriel, knocking his mace into Gabriel's hand, which clad in strong armor did nothing, and then smashed it into Gabriel's thigh. Jonathon:IncapacitatedGabriel:-20 Hp, -50 HP (Bleeding), -15% agility. Bandit A92.5%Bandit B13% (Bleeding, -15% Agi) Bandit C100% TutorialOoooh. Bad luck. Jonathon got a hit in but he's been incapacitated. Gabriel appears to have strong armor, and Jonathon's lack of a helmet really did not help matters. This should be a lesson in preparation, or at the very least in choice of actions. Jonathon could have started with spells, and with the initiative, could have done so before the bandits attacked. If Jonathon has a resurrection scroll or if Gabriel has one Jonathon is obligated to continue posting in a suffering/dying state until either Gabriel is killed or Gabriel revives him (if he chooses to do so). If no resurrection options are available he is removed from the thread, regardless of the combat's outcome. Gabriel's situation is dire but not lost. Gabriel's armor affords him greater protection in several hit zones, protection that it seems the bandits can't get through. However, this has now become a fight where time is of the essence for the character. Having lost 70 HP out of 220 Gabriel has 150 left. With the bleeding effect sapping his HP by 50 per turn this will be a very short fight unless he mitigates that damage somehow. The larger problem are the two relatively unscathed bandits. The heavily wounded bandit will most likely die next turn considering how low it's HP % is with the bleeding effect.

This had not gone well. Really not gone well, Gabriel had hit his first attack, and missed his second. The one with the sword had been hit massively and was bleeding out mostly to die before he got to attack again, Gabriel hoped. Jonathon, well he had just been unlucky, but it showed that training was not everything. He had been hit to the head and had went down in an ever-growing puddle of his own blood. Gabriel felt some pain, but he wasn't sure if it was his thigh bleeding or that his friend may be dead.
From this Gabriel found a new source of energy from in his heart and started fighting with his life on the line knowing he did not have long, he quickly grabbed a dragonfruit from his belt and quickly stuffed it in his mouth with his free hand, knowing that it was worth the risk even though he did not know what they did. Then Gabriel turned to the axe wielding bandit and quickly lunged at him going for his heart, while roaring at him "YOU DESERVE TO DIEEEEEE!!!!!" For the lunge Gabriel quickly did a step forward changing his back foot for where his front foot was and keeping balance on the leg he forced Sally forward in a quick stab, he kept his weight on his back leg still, to make sure he could try to dodge any incoming attacks still.
While still be cautious of his attackers, Then Gabriel quickly looked down to his wound and tried anything he could to try to stop the bleeding, but he knew he would have to be ready to try to get out of the way of any attack while stuffing another dragonfruit into his mouth.
