An honor? Could I be dreaming? But underneath the sarcasm in her thoughts, she was surprised to be greeted in such a courteous manner. With a shaking hand to the table, she forced herself into standing. Guinevere's knee was a little more wobbly than she anticipated, but dresses easily hid that reaction. It wasn't too demeaning to be afraid, after all such a reaction was normal. The pale of her skin also was hidden by the fact that she was naturally a pale freckled being. There was makeup as well, that helped hide any further signs of fright. Like the whitening of her upper lip. It was okay to be afraid, just something she would need to work over. Death just had her further unnerved than her usual state. " It is a pleasure to be so kindly greeted." Her eyes briefly scanned over the four remaining souls. So a mage? Interesting. Still, she thought it prudent to keep that fact silent. Though new found skills would be harder to practice. In secret. That might delay the trusting of her, so she may one day be free. Well, if freedom ever came to terms of her leaving as she wished. Or doing as she wished, well this made courtship particularly difficult.

"Then we have an agreement. Adrian, take good care of your charge here."
Commander Valenstride left the tavern at that point, along with four of the other Companions. Adrian remained behind with his new charge. Things would of course change for her. They would also of course change for Viktoria, as the Royal Justean Guard had many projects to undertake so they could meet their goals. As the commander had described before, Viktoria was strategically important. They would need materials to construct their new fortifications, capital to spend on new arms and armor for their troops, and other supplies for their troops. With control over the western trade route into the Southern Kingdoms, it would be difficult for other provinces to receive those goods.
Their stranglehold was just beginning to take shape.
