Gabriel sat there patiently while the man grabbed the money and counted it. He felt so ridicules to be caught. He finished counting it but kept a stiff hand on him. The the man spoke again, "And give me one good reason why I shouldn't turn you in, what can you do for me that'd make it worth my while not to?" Gabriel desperately started thinking of what to say and reasons why she shouldn't go to jail. She knew she would have to answer to the man his hand was too tight, and she couldn't risk pushing him too far so he took her straight to the guards.
After thinking deeply about the question but quickly she answered the man "I'm a thief and pretty good in a fight please ill do anything, just don't hand me in. I gave you back the money I took and I'm deeply sorry. I'll do anything, please. Find the kindness in your hearts for a someone like me. I was abandoned when I was young and had to live by myself." Gabriel just hoped that what he had said had touched somewhere in the mans heart and that he would let her off or make her do a little thing.

Arthurius was stone cold against her pity tactics, he didn't particularly care about her life or her sorry, only the fact that she had stolen from him and now needed to get some sort of consequences, the fact that she'd resorted to saying she'd do anything proved just how far she'd go to keep herself away from the guards.
But he couldn't just let her go, he had to do something, she seemed to be a fair bit of a thief judging from what she'd said, although she couldn't be that good if someone as inexperienced as him had caught her in the act, but if she was a thief then if he let her go then she'd probably just go and try to steal again, it was useless, if he gave her in to the guard she'd be out again in a day or two with no real consequences of what she'd done.
"Well, i could always use someone to do the grunt work for me, but if you don't fancy that job you can always try to run away, bearing in mind that i have witnesses here that saw what you did." Was it really a punishment? Yes it was, doing what Arthurius called grunt work was essentially anything that he didn't really want to do himself, anything to bothersome or anything that was to dangerous, and sure she could try to run away, but he would definitely be able to catch her.

Gabriel knew when he was beat. The guy had him. He wondered about running but the man confirmed his worries. "Well, i could always use someone to do the grunt work for me, but if you don't fancy that job you can always try to run away, bearing in mind that i have witnesses here that saw what you did." If Gabriel ran now he would surely be caught. Gabriel quickly decided that he would just follow the man and do what he say. At least they would be a sort of partnership so it would hopefully be safer, Gabriel hoped.
Gabriel used the hand where the arm was grabbed to hold on to the man's arm and pull herself up off the floor then held it out in as good as a handshake as he could with the man still gripping his arm like a hawk. "Well then I think we should start anew if we are going to work this sort of partnership. How do you do, I'm Gabriel"
He waited for his response by having a good look over the man to see if there was anything to give away about him that could tell him something about him

Her reply made him chuckle slightly, she had no clue what exactly she was getting into.
"This isn't a partnership, you work for me, a partnership implies that we're equals." By no means did Arthurius consider this woman to be his partner, or his equal in any sense of the saying, she was by no means his intellectual equal and so he could barely even acknowledge her.
Arthurius released her and grabbed the outstretched arm in a strong grip, not to inflict pain on her but to show this person who the boss was. "I'm Arthurius." It was interesting as she seemed to be sizing him up, almost as if she was planning something, it was fine as far as he was concerned though as even if she was planning something, either he would quite easily foil it, or if in the worst case scenario she did escape he had nothing to lose other than a follower.
Maybe if she could prove herself to him he might come to think better of her, but for now she was nothing more than a servant to do his work, sure she was not a slave as he would probably end up paying her in some way or another, but she would have to work very hard for a while now.

Gabriel knew as soon as Arthurius grabbed his hand to shake it that he was going to be the one in charge. Oh well, Gabriel never really cared who was in charge but he knew that when it came down to it Gabriel would show him. He had been caught stupidly earlier, he could of gotten away. He had let his guard down, been an idiot. Now this no body properly thought he was of higher intellect and skill.
Gabriel was still wondering about Arthurius. There must be more than meets the eye with him. Gabriel wasn't sure but he knew that Arthurius must have something secretly up his sleeve.
Gabriel looked at him right in the eye, let go off his hand and said, "Well lets get going, but what were you doing in the market anyway?"

She seemed to almost be examining him for weakness as they shook hands, it seemed very likely that she would try something soon, and when she did he would be there to help it completely blow up in her face. It would most likely be rather entertaining to watch, might provide him some amusement while he wasn't working.
Arthurius let go of Gabriel's hand, letting his own drop as he in turn looked her up and down, she wasn't really much to look at in all honesty, not in terms of aesthetics or skill, if she had any decent skill she was sure as hell hiding it well....but that was a big if.
"I was shopping, but it's all crap anyway, and now we're going to and see if you can be of use to me" Arthurius said, stepping out of the alley without even looking back at Gabriel to see if she was following.

Arthurius walked off. He seemed to know where he was going. Gabriel knew he saw her as weak, Gabriel would have to proof it to him, he knew he could steal. Well, ampere try not as well as he had thought. His getaway needed some working on obviously. Gabriel knew a lot of it was down to the roll of the dice though, luck. For all he knew Arthurius could of looked in his pockets just after to buy something. Gabriel was frustrated she would have to practice.
Gabriel was sure of one thing as Arthurius walked off without even looking back at him, Gabriel was sure he had a massive surprise that would hopefully only be unraveled to Arthurius when he most needed him to be shocked. Gabriel hoped Arthurius hadn't relised what gender he actually was, as gender meant a lot in the tide of power.
Gabriel followed Arthurius though out the alley, knowing anything fishy here would end badly. "Where are we going? What do u mean use to you, what are you going to make me do?" He asked Arthurius, not overly liking this mysteriousness

Arthurius carried on walking, ignoring Gabriel's questions as he navigated the streets, making his way to the borders of the Morith town before heading out of it. It didn't matter if Gabriel followed although he was hoping that she would, but he set a fairly brutal pave so she'd probably have to walk pretty fast as well.
"We're going out into the woods, i'm going to teach you the kind of things that i need you to do"
And with that Arthurius had left Morith behind, supposedly with Gabriel in tow although he wouldn't know as he didn't even bother to look back and check that the young thief was even there. He just assumed that she was.

Arthurius wasn't answering Gabriel's questions. Yes it was frustrating for Gabriel, but he proberly had his reasons. He was heading out of the village, good and bad memories lay in the forests. He wondered what they were going to be doing but knew there would be no answer.
Gabriel liked that Arthurius had set a fast pace, faster you went the more that could be done.Arthurius was passionate about what they were going to do and wanted it down quick. Gabriel could tell by how he walked
Gabriel just kept up with the pace and stayed quiet, knowing that Arthurius held practically all the cards and had won this match, but as they left the city she couldn't help but wonder when they would be returning. Maybe this could turn for the worst and she wouldn't be coming back at all
