First let us begin by stating that this is an original setting and that there is a lot of lore that will inform you on your character building decision. This guide is to help you do the research necessary to make the best informed decision for the character you're about to make. It will reference other threads and boards throughout its discussion, and provide links. Read the entire guide, and the linked material, before filling out your character sheet. Reference the material while you're doing so.
The following link is the character sheet template:
Character Sheet Template
Your character sheet is mostly used as a reference for everyone on the site. It should include pertinent information about your character. It is a space where you can record anything you like about your character.
Listed below are the current playable races and playable classes. Please note that your character's race will have an impact on their mechanics. No race or ethnicity is equal by any means. Some make better fighters, others make better mages, and so on.
- Humans
- Skaldi
- Half-Elkagr
- Half-Drokagr
Humankind, Her Nations, and Ethnic Groups
This thread contains basic information about all the playable races and the various human nations and ethnic groups.
The Skaldi: Their History, Culture, Society, and Life Cycle
More in-depth information about the Skaldi.
Elkagr Society, Culture, and Laws
More in-depth information about Elves.
Korasuan Culture & Laws
In-Depth information about Korasuan Drow and half-drow.
Coupled intimately with your character's race, will be their class. The link below will take you to a thread that gives in depth information about the various classes. Note that you can choose to be any of the five classes, and carry a second one as a subclass. You do not have to choose the subclass until you finish level two (100 posts). You will find more information about, Stats, Levels, and Skills, and the role of Fear in the second link below. Also note that knowledges are intimately tied to your character's class for the most part. Information about knowledges is also linked below.
Character Creation, Classes, and Rules -- Included in this thread are also racial traits for each race and ethnicity.

Schools of Knowledge
For some people, the mechanics based decisions such as character race, class, and the knowledges they start with, are easier than choosing a name. Here is some information regarding naming schemes:
--Cruinthians: Medieval European.
--Cahalians: Anglo-Saxon, Celts, Scots.
--Hek'Cruicans: Roman, Medieval European
--Fringothans: Medieval European.
--Selbrians: Medieval European/West Asian.
--Damjou Ansai: Medieval East Asian.
--Zetegnean: Medieval Scandanavian/Norwegian/Finlander
--Helmistani: Medieval Middle Eastern, African, Indian, Central Asian.
--Skaldi: Just one name, usually short.
--Half-Elkagr: Lots of vowels, long, usually two or three names in total.
--Half-Drokagr: Same as above, though usually last names have a prefix.
-Personality: This is so that you can get into the psychology of your character. Write your history first, that should help give you some insight into how the character's mind works. That's what this section is for. What they think of this, that or the other thing.
-Appearance: This is just their outward appearance. A paragraph is good here.
-History: Your character's history has to be rooted in the setting. You'll need to know when they were born, where they were born, and into what kind of family they were born. What their home life was like, how they grew up, among other things.
Chances are, like many heroes, your character is newly orphaned by some tragedy. I'll go get my violin, but while I'm doing that, your character will need to find a way to survive that mess.
This is also a medieval setting on a completely different world. Christianity among all the other religions of earth, does not exist. The word Knight doesn't exist in the context we think of it as. The word that describes that definition is Ritgr.
Which leads us into starting position:
Your character will start with equipment and money suited to what their character sheet describes. If they are coming from a rich background, they start with more money than a character that comes from a poor background. If they are a fighter, they will start with some weapons and armor. If they are a mage they will start with something different. Your starting faction will also determine what gear you start with.
Speaking of factions, those can be found in the thread linked below. Remember that due to the current story constraints, your character can either start as a member of the Alliance, or as a neutral party. This is mainly to help you get your character started so they can become a useful and integral part of the board in as easy a manner. Being neutral is harder than being a member of the alliance.
Faction Database
As for their stats, that's pretty easy. Everything is a ten. Your HP should be 200, your MP Should be 110, and your Stamina should be 20.
