Fully armored and fully prepared, Coran was in the training grounds again, he has been coming here for a while practicing some of his new skills and developing his fighting with his new weapon. Now is the time to put all that he had learned to the test.
Coran had no opponent in mind, he would wait and see if there was anyone he knew, if not he would just ask a random stranger. While waiting he decided to have a little warm up with a practice dummy, he was very eager to spar that he couldn't just sit around and nothing. He still kept an eye out for anyone he knew while trained.

Furia strolled onto the training grounds and scanned the dueling circles for people she knew. There was Coran, and a couple of the other boys she regularly trained with, and some of the girls, but Coran was currently alone, he seemed to be the best choice. Furia pulled her helmet down and strolled on over to the mercenary and walked into the ring.
"Afternoon Coran, want to take this fast or slow?"
Furia asked, drawing her Burning Ancient Sword of Anthrax. The blade rang out and splashed poison onto the ground in an arch as she turned, putting her left side toward him, and her right side back. The weapon was held above her head, and her other arm drew the Burning Longsword of Flames, which was held horizontally in front of her.

Coran joined Furia in the ring, he guessed if he were to test his new skills it would be up against the strongest person he knew. He also wondered if they should take this slow or fast, then he remembered what happened last time they fought, it ended way too fast.
"Let's take it slow, I wanna get as much training out of this one as possible."
In his mind he thought, and so I can at least land a hit this time.
He started off with casting stone skin on himself, getting into defensive position his shield raised covering most of his midsection and his crushing axe raised about the same level of the shield ready to counter attack. He beckoned to Furia to attack.

She was beckoned and she went. There wasn't any reason not to, the thing to think about was how to go about it. A very forward motion could easily be blocked, even if she was stronger than him. She decided on a forward vector, but definitely not exactly a forward motion. Furia started the first two steps then spun on her heel and came at him. Both the blades bounced the rays of the sun off them, angled at his eyes and face.
"Comin' at you!"
When she got in range the first sword struck at him in a stab right for his chest, even with the shield there she knew the blade would cut through it, but wouldn't break it. He'd have time to angle his shield so the weapon would scrape along it. The longsword was out of view at this point in the spin, her right side facing him and she was still moving, like a hurricane of blades.
Damage at Coran: 140 (410) [14 fire, 30 poison per turn for nine turns.]

The light reflecting from Furia's blades blinded Coran temporally, he raised his hammer hand to shield his eyes and jumped back. Coran saw the blade head to wards him, even when he jumped back the blade would still pierce him if he did not block. With his already raised hand he parried the blade.
If it worked Coran would then slam his shield into Furia, following it with a thrust with his hammer.

The man barely parried the first strike, but she used it to gain more spin. The shield came at her and she slashed at it with her longsword, flames trailing in it's wake. Her strong slash would knock him off balance and throw the rest of his counter attack off. Hopefully Coran could keep going and react to this, she was moving fast but not as fast as she could have been, there was still time for him to react.
"C'mon you can do better than that!"
Furia was having fun with this fight, she tended to always have a bit of fun with her training matches. Which was good, if you're going to fight with a friend for those purposes, you might as well have a good time with no hard feelings.

Coran felt the great blow on his shield that made him stumble back, his shield couldn't take too many hits like that. The Barbarian managed to regain his balance before falling on his ass.
Going for a different approach Coran would swing his crushing axe at Furia's with the blunt side of the weapon legs to trip her, he would then follow the attack up with a hammer smash to her midsection.

Furia took two steps back out and hopped over Coran's hammer swipe at her legs, then as she landed she backpedaled out of the way of his strike to her chest, turning on her heel to position herself caddy corner to him. From there she swiped at his hammer arm with her longsword, just to give him a light nick on the arm. This little dance was fun for her, she was thoroughly enjoying herself, giggling mentally.
"Keep the dance up, Coran."
Coran wanted to drag the fight out, he had said so, so she wasn't going to pull out all the stops against him. She was just going to play until he got tired and surrendered.

Furia was just too damned fast for Coran to keep up with, all of the sudden he went from attacking to clutching his right arm for a burning wound, even with his new armor the wound hurt like hell. Coran felt his arm get heavier and he new that it was time for a change in tactics.
"I'm glad you're having fun."
Coran jumped backwards, he was holding back the use of magic to catch Furia off guard but if he kept holding back it would be too late, and the fight would end too quickly. The Barbarian silently casted Blind then launched three fireballs at Furia, two aimed for her body and one at her head. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Damaged received: 91.12

Furia's vision dimmed and three fireballs slammed into her. She took one to the head, and two to the chest. The two that hit her body armor scorched her flesh a little between her breasts, the burnt flesh fell off and fresh new skin remained where the blast had hit her, showing a little cleavage. The fireball that smacked her in the face exploded and singed her face a little bit. Not enough to blow up her head, it wasn't critical damage.
The magic surprised her, but the visor of her helm helped make up for the hex a tad. Furia didn't charge any spells or anything, her vision remained dull and dimmed, a little darkness around the edges like a narrow lens.
She spun away from her location next to him and preformed a back flip to get further away from him. With a single fluid motion she sheathed her longsword and removed a handful of battle darts from their sheathe. Her wrist flicked and she sent five of the blades tumbling at him, all toward his general body.
"Getting saucy are we?"

Coran smiled when the fireballs hit, it seemed like that magick attack caught her off guard but the smile turned into a grimace when he realized that damage was minimal. Well at least he landed a few hits.
Coran saw the battle darts he didn't have time to use his shield but instead he shot out a wind cutter causing the battle darts to scatter. After that the Barbarian would charge Furia when she touches down, feigning a shield bash he would catch her right side with the axe with a fully charged fire strike. If that worked he would jump back shield raised and wait for her to attack.

He charged at her and she moved too, back pedaling out of his way, keeping herself just out of his range to attack. Yet with her out of range she was still in range to hit him with her darts, and threw more she did. She pulled one from it's place and threw it at where his foot would step next, to pin him to the ground, then threw two more at his head.
"Don't rush this."
She was trying new and innovative methods for dealing with an opponent if she didn't have magic to rely on. She wondered to herself what warriors that relied on black magic too heavily would do if they found themselves stripped of their powers. Her own magical skills were limited, and she fought physically more than she fought magically.

Coran was starting to feel annoyed hitting nothing but air. Coran blocked the first dart with his shield and fired a wind cutter at the other two that came at his head. Damn those things were annoying but he'd rather face them than Furia's blades or arrows.
"Rush? I'm just trying to keep up here."
Coran knelt still raising his shield to cover him as he removed the dart from his foot, and made a mental note to get some new boots. After he stood up Coran would shoot a single fireball at her, knowing fully well that Furia can easily dodge it never the less it was only to distract her. Coran would try to flank her from the right as the fireball went straight at her and when he would get close enough he would try to catch her right arm with a spinning slash, all the while careful if Fuira was to deflect the fireball at him.

Furia watched him kneel and put his shield up to remove the dart from his foot. She took the opportunity he presented to changed directions and attempted to roll over his shield, putting herself behind him. As she rolled off the shield she brought her Ancient sword up to cut him on the back. Not to particularly kill him, just to berate him for stopping so closely to his enemy. Though there wasn't much he could do about getting pinned to the ground, it would have been better for him to wait for her to back off a bit.
The cut would probably be the end of the fight, but she hoped that he would take it in good spirit. The move was quick and sudden, she attempted to roll across his shield on her back, flipping as she would came off and slashed at his back, then would land on her feet and step a few feet backwards.
"Ouchie."

She was over and behind Coran before he knew it, then came the sharp burning pain in his back that marked the end of the fight. Coran had to press his fist into the ground to stop form falling over, the other too familiar feeling of losing in the arena came over him, even though he knew for sure that he would lose, for what it's worth he managed to land a hit.
After regaining himself Coran pushed himself off his knee and stood up to face Furia, buckling his weapon and shield.
"Ugh, good fight. I think I lasted longer than last time."
