Just as Sungale was about to fire once into the pearly sea below, she noticed that the archers were starting to get serious, firing clouds of arrows towards more targets... including their group. Her face paled at the site, and her head felt faint for a moment, distracted from the battle as she watched the piercing rain speed towards them...

"SU...ALE!!"

Her mind didn't even register the faint-sounding voice screaming her name at first, only realizing what was going on as she saw a multitude of fireballs emerging from the fray below and disintegrating the deadly fog that very well could have meant her life. That... that had to have been him. That had to have been Gunlase. He was alright!... Well... for now, in any case. But how couldn't he have been alright, Sungale reminded herself with a small smile. This was her baby brother we're talking about, after all.

...And undoubtedly, when this is all over, your "baby brother" is going to not be very happy with you...

But that was later. Right now, she had to focus on support. Not just supporting her brother, but all of the other brave soldiers out there, fighting for freedom. They would not lose. Cruinthe's army was far too great to fall at this battle. Her gaze hardened upon the sea of bone once more, the shivers of fear from before completely gone. These abominations had no place in this world... They were only being used by the enemy in order to oppose their great country. Their spirits were brought back from rest, forced to watch in vain as their memories and legacies were tainted by this unholy war.

It was time to put them to rest.

Her mind oddly calm, she drew her arrow and fired at the mages once more, firing two into the group before firing one more magic arrow, letting it pierce through at about seven skulls.

A new record. Yippee.

Moris kept it up. His attacks with the poisonous gas were effective, and they were putting holes in the enemy's support line. Which was good, it was that support line that was doing the most damage. Arrows flew up at the walls and at the defenders on the line. Spells struck allies and hurt them as well. The skeletons weren't too strong int he melee department, but they could do quite a lot of damage to the footmen by tying them up, allowing the archers and mages to strike at the footmen.

So Moris gassed two more groups of skeleton mages, hoping that eventually they would die again, and become a pile of sickly green bones.

The enemy pushed back, taking more footmen and brave soldiers of cruinthe with them. Though the losses were devastating, the white mages did their best to minimize the casualties, healing soldiers that they could, and braving enemy magic and arrow fire to recover bodies. It wasn't so bad to die in battle, but it was worse to fight your old comrades as an undead than it was to simply die.

More soldiers would have to take action to just hold the thousand strong enemies back when they had a mere four hundred twenty three footmen holding the line left. Not to mention there were hundreds of arrows flying through the air at any given moment, with magic spells crashing into enemies on both sides. It was a mess, but war was hell no matter how you looked at it. There wasn't anything pretty about this sort of thing.

1008/1500 Skeleton warriors. (110 kills from NPC's.)
620/800 Skeleton archers. (Firing at the walls.) (16 kills from NPC's.)
161/200 Skeleton Knights (Amongst the warriors.)
355/500 Skeleton Mages (Firing at the walls.) (4 kills from NPC's.)

2144/5000 total. (excluding siege camp.) (42%)

335 meters from wall is the enemy siege camp.

Allied Forces

423/511 footmen (-16)

412/484 archers (-8)

128/200 white mages (-8)

336/400 black mages (-8)

378/450 Knights (Some Bane, some not.) (-8)

1677/2045 total. (82%)

Moris loses his next turn. Naughty.

Gun tore through the lines, his spell had been lost somewhere in the back ground as his increasing depth behind enemy lines prevented him from worrying about any thing but his own hide. "GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY WAY!!" He roared as his sword sliced clear through the skulls of two warriors. Dashing over piles and piles of bones, he lashed his weapons out to either side, his body had picked up speed from before. A lot of speed. Dead-head permitting, he was screaming across the field at insane speeds.

Unfortunately, they usually weren't permitting. And worse yet. It seemed his efforts hadn't gone unnoticed. Two knights were riding their way through the thick. Warriors filing out of their way as if they'd known all along that at this very moment, the two undead horsemen would be coming through that particular area.

Gun's left arm slashed deep through the chest of a warrior, dropping it to the ground with dozens of shallow thuds. Two more warriors were all he'd see for a short time as a small clearing began to open around him. Effortlessly, his sword knocked away both of their giant blades. His left foot smashed through the thigh of one, followed by a sweeping kick that finished off the one, and ripped the legs out from the other. A sharp smash of the same left foot shattered its skull and Gun looked on at the knights who were approaching the clearing.

Sheathing his sword and claws, he began ripping the arrows out of his flesh and armor with occasional grunts of pain. His blood splattered on the floor even as his Regeneration began closing the wounds and stanching the blood flow even as he drew his weapons once again. It wouldn't be like the first time he'd faced Skeleton Knights. He was going to fucking demolish them.

The knights stood as oppressive as any skeleton, empty eye sockets baring down on a breathing suit of armor. Their swords were old and worn, but fresh in this battle, and in the din, nothing seemed to shine brighter than those bits of steel. Nothing except perhaps Gun's own weapons. Yes. They were shining bright. "Come on, scum." Gun said quietly, his tongue glowing, not that he needed it. One charged, then the other. Both of them were on Gun's right side.

The first swung its blade, Gun's own sword clashed against it, batting out of the way with little effort as the Knight rode past to the other end of the clearing, where it slowed and gathered itself. The other knight wasn't so lucky. Gun ducked below the second blade, but clashed it against his claws, locking it up and ripping it from the grip of the knight as Gun's sword cut the legs out from under its mount.

The horse collapsed in a cacophony of bones louder than any thing else for the sheer bulk of them. The knight was tossed onto its back, and with two steps, Gun was looming over the disarmed knight. Gun's sword dropped hard on the knights raised shield, almost cutting the thing in half for the sheer power behind his swing. A second stab pierced the shield and the skeletons heart, and it collapsed into its baser parts.

The second Knight came back for more and Gun sidestepped the horse, lashing his blade clean through the knights elbow, taking off its sword arm entirely. The knight wheeled the horse around as best it could and attempted to have its mount kick up and strike the man with its fore-legs. Encompassed by anger as Gun was, his motions were ruthless and violent. His sword cut off both of its legs in a fore handed slash, and when it dropped back down, a back handed strike removed its head and the knights left leg.

Now the second knight was helpless on the ground, and Gun simply stepped on its head, finishing it.

The clearing of skeletons closed up again, and Gun was back in the middle of the fray, surrounded by skeletons. A stab here, a kick there, a slash and a punch. A pommel strike and knee to the face. Left and right Gun piled bones up around him, leaving them in his wake as he headed for the wall at a snails pace. Sungale would have to wait.

Since I don't remember my gear for Sorath, I'll just use my regular stuff.

"Alright boys, charge!"

Furia put away her bow and drew both her swords, the weapons were searing hot with her rage against the dead. The dead just didn't belong in this world at all, they didn't belong and she was going to erase them. She rushed past the two footmen that were covering her and Lan, and plunged her weapon into the chest of the first skeleton she came across. The creature burst into flames and she turned on her heel and slashed another one in half, cutting it in half at the lower back.

She hit a third skeleton over the head with her shield, caving it's skull in, it fell into a pile of bones. Furia shoved the blade of her longsword through the face of another skeleton warrior, and then chopped into it's torso with her ancient sword, pulling the ribs apart and cutting into the skeleton on it's left, taking it's head clean off. All the enemies she fell with her blades burst into fireballs and collapsed, going from bone to ash in seconds. She moved a few feet to the left and kicked the head of one skeleton, which rolled off the neck after going around and around like a carousel. That skeleton fell over onto one of it's comrades, Furia took that opportunity to step on the skeleton's pelvic bone, and shove her blade through the face of the other skeleton, only to immediately pull the weapon out and chop into the head of another enemy.

There was the proof, she was too fast for the skeletons and was simply butchering them, Lan was behind her covering her back, shooting the mages that targeted her specifically in the face when he could. The other two footmen flanked her and covered her sides, mostly blocking their enemies with their large kite shields. They got few kills in these moments of her hacking and slashing skeletons apart.

Footies: 5 kills

Lan: Kills 5 mages.

Furia: Kills 8 skeleton warriors.

"SEND THEM TO ME!!"

Coran roared with pure bliss as he continued to smash, bash, and beat his way through the enemy lines. A skeleton stepped into his way but Coran quickly swiped at it's legs shattering them right from underneath it, the Barbarian then spun catching another skelly with his shield, it was knocked back then Coran finished it off with a hammer thrust. Each of the footmen also took down a skeleton.

"Men, fall in behind me! Tight line and swords ready."

The soldiers stood behind him, they had no reason to take orders from him but they did mostly because he was the strongest amongst them. Coran ran forward shield raised knocking the the skeletons in front of him down and trampled underneath his feet, his hammer lashing out to catch the skeletons off guard the footmen followed suit. They formed a human battering ram and punched through the enemy forces. Smashing the skeletons at his side with the hammer and stampeding over the ones in front of him.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Coran's kills: 8 skelly warriors

Footmen: 7 skelly warriors

Noticing from the corner of her eye that Furia was going out into the open for close combat, Sungale had to feel a little sad that she was not able to go out there with the others to help. But no... this was where she worked best. She was never the type of lady to stand right into the spotlight. Her place was in the shadows, letting those who were more fit for close combat do what they do best while she gave them the best support that she could.

And to that affect, she was no leader, either, and she certainly couldn't imagine herself in that sort of position anytime soon. When she thought about ordering others around, she was deathly afraid of saying something stupid, or them not taking her seriously. For a brief moment, she looked at the other archers and mages around her. They didn't seem too disorganized, so she probably shouldn't bother trying to rally them behind her. Then again, if they all really focused into getting together into one unit, then perhaps they could be even more effective and prevent more casualties...

But honestly. She wasn't the sort of person to rally anyone. She was most definitely a follower, not a leader. Sighing, she took out a few more arrows, firing two of them, then enchanting the last with magic and shooting it through a couple more skulls. She was getting more and more used to this, it seemed. One thing that really was starting to bother her, though, was how... how fragile these undead creatures really were. She knew that they were just the bare basic remains of what used to be alive, but even so... Not too long ago, the thought of them simply terrified her. Given, that wasn't to say that she was completely cured of that fear now. She sure wasn't ready to go out and fight them up close, even if she was good enough in close combat to take them on. The more of them she killed... well... rekilled... the less she was starting to fear them.

((OOC: Couldn't think of a way to end it, so.... blah. Good nuff.))

The battle was certainly appearing to be endless at this point as infinite numbers of Undead surged towards them. All they could do was fight and hope it would not last much longer; thus, that is what they did. Tristan formed a tight triangle with his companions, Markus and Marissa, and they fought bravely and unwaveringly against the hordes of Undead.

Markus fought with blade and blade. The way he manoeuvred his arms were astounding and Tristan could only wish he had half of Markus’ skill with a blade. One of Markus’ blades vertically pierced the top of a skeletons head, while the other decapitated a zombie. The Drow seemed to have an unlimited source of energy as he continued assaulting the oncoming foes. He proceeded to kill three more in a short span of time.

Out of the three, the silver-haired Marissa was not exactly the fighter type. She held a mighty mace with protection in mind; protection in terms of keeping her two brother-like companions safe because what she lacked in strength, she made up for in her magic arts. While she bashed the side of a skeletons head in, she healed a wound Markus received, at the same time. In the end, certainly her kills would not be as stunning as Markus’ or Tristan’s; however, she would surely be the source for them lasting as long as they did.

Tristan fought with what seemed like unparalleled determination. He was determined to keep his family – Markus and Marissa – safe, no matter what it cost him ultimately. He was also determined not to let Cruinthe fall any further to the Undead menace that was now at their doorstep. Consequently, he fought with all the strength and mana burning inside of him.

Three skeletons had decided to target him and they made their way over. Nevertheless, he ceased each one in their tracks as he launched three arrows, all piercing their exposed skulls. Easy enough. A zombie managed to sneak towards him, but was quickly dispatched as Tristan shoved an arrow into its head and fired an Ice Bolt at its core. Next he saw a rather large group of skeletons and zombies advancing on a particular smaller group of Fordeth soldiers. In an instant, he fired a Magic Arrow at the onslaught and accompanied it with a Bolt and Fireball that spiralled around the arrow as it collided with the group.

Having taken many down already, Tristan still knew that was just the beginning.

Tristan should have studied more, wrapping a bolt of lightning around a fireball or vice versa was impossible. In fact, attempting to cast two spells of a different element at the same time had potentially lethal consequences. He was lucky in so much as that his entire body wasn't wracked with explosions of conflicting mana, just his arm. When he attempted the spell it fizzled, backfired, and the mana that was charged in his arm sucked the rest of the mystical energy from his body, then exploded on the surface of his body. He'd most likely collapse to the ground in a burning mess of pure magic within seconds. He would need assistance immediately.

Those around him were also damaged by the explosion, luckily they only received a quarter of the pain that he did.

The enemy continued to advance, not at all slowed down by the attempts the cruinthians made to drive them back. The necromancers, and demon lieutenant that lead the attack were determined to destroy this town and take it for themselves. They would stop at nothing.

Archers targeted each of the small groups of officers, and rained arrows down upon them constantly.

Constant bombardment of arrows on all players until all skeleton archers are destroyed. 22 damage an arrow, critical damage applies as normal.

Gun had no time to worry about the explosion that set off quite some distance from him, instead he had to worry about the rain of arrows that was now dropping on the lot of them. Gun had managed to see them coming and dash laterally through the warriors, body checking them rather than killing them, and avoided almost all of the arrows headed for him. Several warriors fell apart regardless, but that was very much beside the point. His sword focused on deflecting blades that were coming at him rather than killing Warriors as he made for higher ground. Well, in actuality, he was creating the higher ground of his own accord.

Two {Ice Bolts} formed behind him as he started a diagonal route through the skeleton ranks, still shoving most aside rather than ending them. After a handful of moments, he had his Sky skates, and had taken to the air. Full aware that he'd instantly become the target of all their fire, he activated the {Defensive Gust} spell, and soared high above the melee combatants. Targeting a large group of archers, the size of a standard Allied platoon, he cast his final spell of the moment, {Choking Gas} and annihilated all of them. Hovering some thirty feet in the air, Gun's eyes panned the enemy outside the walls, looking for the next group of archers. Gun had plenty of mana to spend up here, and they were going down. Hard.

HP: 330
MP: 309

Shield HP: 538
Defensive Gust HP: 300

Kills: 4 Skeleton warriors (injured many, cutting HP in half with body checks), 25 Skeleton Archers.

Total Kills: 235 zombies, 93 skelly warriors, 12 skelly mages, 29 skelly archers, 7 skelly knights.

The arrows fell upon them all in groups, they were picking off the officers that were leading the battle and not the troops that were fighting it. Furia didn't pay any attention to the arrows, they would cause only minimal damage to her that she would eventually get over. They couldn't critically wound her, and she knew it. Though she was slightly worried about Lan and the injuries he would accrue, as well as the two footmen that had been following her around since the beginning of the battle, when she had taken command of them. She would rely on Lan to take care of himself, and the two of them as they move into the swarming dead with her.

Furia cut down a skeleton that was charging at her with her ancient sword, whipping the weapon out easily and slicing off the head of another one as it approached. She punched one that came in at her from the left and then cut it down with the opposite hand's sword. Furia looked around, looking for something heavier to fight and spotted a knight, it was surrounded by warriors and was heading towards the defensive line. She moved towards it cutting down a skeleton that was in her way. The footmen that followed her blocked for her like great linemen, and Lan was between them sending light healing spells their way.

As the desert woman closed in on the knight she cut down two more skeletons with her swords then kicked one in the head, knocking the head over. As that skeleton fell towards the skeletal horse she practically walked up the bones and assaulted the knight from the side, slashing it's arm and stabbing it in the face. She rode its suit of armor as it came down to the other side of the horse. Arrows began to strike her on the shoulders and in the upper body, she ignored them the best she could as she hit the ground and slid right into another skeleton, body checking it. As it was still reeling furia stuck the blade of her longsword in it's chest, leaving behind yet another smoking ruin. From there she spun and lashed out with both her swords, becoming that ever signature whirlwind of blades, cutting down five skeletons that had come close to her. Taking their heads and upper bodies off, cutting their bodies in half at the pelvis. Making them useless.

Several more arrows struck her in the chest and back area, they were focus firing on her. She took them and went down to a knee, it was roughly twenty arrows that she counted hitting her, but she lost count around fifteen. Lan shot a mage in the head that was aiming a fireball at her, the fireball spun out of control and exploded in the air. Then he shot a skeleton archer in the head for good measure.

"Furia..."

"I'm fine."

She said as she got up and spat blood, it dripped out of the vents in her rebreather. The damage was shallow, but she was leaking in some areas of her armor. She had an arrow between her collar bone, just missing her heart and hitting her windpipe. One of the footmen ripped that out of her and watched the small hole close up in her skin. She still bled from the mouth as she reentered the fray. Slashing up another skeleton in a fit of righteous fury.

Gail came from the battered walls of Sorath, a full sprint carrying her down into the fray of the south side. As a blur of white, she stood out amongst most the Cruthian men and women on the battle field, making her one easy target!

Arrows hailed down like rain, the very sky distorted through the enemies continuous barrage. Most of this was aimed for the Defenders officers, obviously the undead where trying to take down the strongest of them to destroy moral. Now though, with this white rabbit taken to the field, she was distracting, and a lot of the fire was direct to the golden hair mistress.

WHOOOHMFFFF!!! WHOOOHMFFF!!!

Both her blades, Tearo and Ana where drawn and sailed through the air to cleave the enemy skeleton warriors as she passed them. A powerful blast of wind accompanied each swing she took, buffeting those near here, and sending the arrows sent at her into disarray.

Gail danced about in momentary bursts, and kept moving at top speed to insure she would take minimal damage from falling projectiles. So far she hadn't been hit, but sooner or later she was going to run out of magical essence to unleash her defending wind tunnel. But if she could just make her way past the basic foot soldiers of the undead, reach the Archers, then she could help halt the constant fire they dropped on herself and allies.

...

From when she stepped in to the mess, her sword had caught two enemies in the side of their skull, cutting through them like a hot knife through butter, and then slid to her knees to slice through the torso's of two others, sending their torso to part from there lower halves. She tumbled into a roll, and rose to meet another on ascent, and ripped her sword up diagonally across the course of it's body, shattering it in to as many pieces as there where bones that made up it's body, here a wind tunnel was formed, blasting the enemies behind it back and halted a torrent of arrows aimed at her.

Gail was at her feet again, dragging Tearo in her left hand across the skeletons which had been knocked off their feet by her assault, holding her blade firm enough to tear through three more at most. Another hail of arrows, and her right blade, Ana, swiped in from her side to unleash another wind tunnel! she let the swipe carry her body into a spin, and came up and across with Tearo for a horizontal slashing motiont o follow Ana, and let even another force fly from her blades edge! successfully keeping her from becoming a pin cushion.

She sped onwards, her destination beyond the lowly foot skeletons.

Coran spotted two thins in the air, one of them was Gunlase flying above the battle field, the other was a rainstorm of arrows coming down on them. Not good.

"EVERYONE SHIELDS UP!"

All of them raised their shields, he was starting to wounder if they thought he was an officer. Even with their shields raised Coran had to do something he fired two wind cutters in the air to disrupt the arrows that came down at them. Most of the arrows came down with a harmlessly down on their shields. Coran changed their direction, going for the archers, he guessed where the were from the general direction of the arrows, but he needed Gun's help to find them.

"GUUUUUNNNNNLLLLLLLLLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Coran bellowed trying to catch the knight's attention, luckily the skeletons don't really talk or else he would have hard time hearing him. Anyway Coran continued with his death march swinging ahead of him instead at the side. With each wide arc his crushing axe would catch three skeletons, shattering them all, Coran continued this way smashing the path to the archers.

Something he had never experienced before unluckily occurred at the worst possible time - now. In his attempts to combine different elements in an attack, it backfired and began to consume him in fire instead. As soon as he launched the Bolt and Fireball, he felt the mana return through his arm and attract all the mana in his body to the same place. As the mana pooled, it reacted violently and caused a great explosion, which affected both friend and foe around him. Though, he was not all that concerned at the moment about others because he was too engulfed in pain to even think for a moment or two.

Flames licked at his body and there was nothing he could do for some time. The only thing that he could think of was pull two pieces of Dragonfruit from a bag at his side. He quickly consumed them, as Markus and Marissa recovered from their agony – which was not as great as his – and protected him as he tried to pull through. The fruit would not do anything major; however, it would sustain him for some time until he could successfully put the fire out.

His luck only got worse and worse as continuous arrows rained down, yet there was nothing the three of them could do except try to block the oncoming shots so they would not affect them critically. If Tristan was able to use magic, he could have deflected the arrows, but he could not. Thus, he took all the pain they brought onto him as best he could.

The battle was getting worse and worse by the second. Aaron tried his best to keep those around him relatively healed, but it was starting to get overwhelming. Good thing Josephine was by his side, protecting his ass as he tried to heal, or else he would have been done for long ago. He was about to heal a soldier getting attacked by two skeletons when about a dozen yards from him, there was a great explosion which distracted him. When he looked back, he was able to react just in time to keep him from dying as Josephine ran in to smash the two skeletons’ heads in. After he was done healing the man, Aaron looked in the direction of where the explosion came from. What he saw was a figure writhing on the ground with fire beginning to engulf him.

Placing a Shield over himself, he pushed his way through the crowd until he was a little closer; Josephine was close behind him taking out a few skeletons on the way. He tried to heal the squirming figure, but he was stopped short as a skeleton attacked him. He reacted quickly and his mace quickly impacted the legs of the skeleton, completely shattering them. Josephine finished it off by caving in the side of its head.

Returning his attention to the wriggling figure, he could not help but recognize who it was: Tristan. He had met the man in the Scarlet Rose some time ago and was unsure of what to think of him. However, now was not the time to think about that kind of thing because it was clear he was in trouble, as well as his companions. Without another thought, he attempted to heal Tristan; nevertheless, his attempt was foiled by some unknown shield surrounding Tristan for the time being. Slightly frustrating, he reluctantly turned to another nearly fallen soldier because there was nothing he could do for Tristan at the moment.

Welcome
Welcome to Cruinthe War, a Dark Medieval Fantasy RPG. The game is set in a kingdom on the brink of destruction by untold horrors, monsters made from the stuff of nightmares, and heretical creations from beyond the grave. A legion of bloodthirsty demons, vampires, and various undead threaten to overrun the kingdom of Cruinthe at any given moment. Only the brave defenders of Cruinthe stand in their way, fighting the bitter and bloody battle to their last breaths.

Date and Season
The year is 1053, the month is Ausoris, the season of Summer. Summer in Cruinthe is a season that is hot and humid. Unlike the dry season to come, the air is thick with evaporating water that was left over from the rainy season. Summer is the month where magical creatures are most active, due to random concentrations of magic in the air. It will rain suddenly, the temperatures can get up to one hundred and ten degrees, and the sun shines brightly for many days straight. Happy Hunting Cruinthe!
