"Uhm... ok.... safe. Let's see now... Skeleton Knights..."

Moris wracked his brain for the knowledge of what he needs to do. More importantly, which spell he should hurl at the enemy. They weren't clumped up enough for him to use strangling gas, and fireballs might damage the footmen on the line. He was sweating, thinking. A moments hesitation could cost someone their life, and he was hesitating because he didn't know exactly what to do. Then it hit him, a bolt of lightning wouldn't hit anyone other than whom he targeted. It was fast enough to do so.

"Crack! C'mon thunder!"

Thrusting his hand forward, a bolt of lightning surged from his shoulder up his arm and out his hand, squarely aiming to hit a skeleton knight in the face. If the bolt connected he'd be saving a footman's shield from a hefty bashing by that knight's sword. Not only was it a bolt, but it was a double bolt. Juiced up with extra mana.

Panting, Gunlase almost dropped, but for his sword which was stabbed into the dirt with him leaning on it. Erron came galloping out from behind the wall for the first time and nosed the side of Gunlase's head.

Patting him loosely with his left hand, he dropped his claws and what little remained of his shield into the dirt, then proceeded to pull bits of dried turkey out of his saddle bags. Chowing down on them, he restored his health as it drained- fuckin' poison- and kept on munching as he still had a bit of time left on the poison before it would fade.

Then, to further bolster his shit, he pulled two dragon fruit out of the bag on his hip and downed those before patting Erron on the flanks and sending him back to his hiding place. Refreshed, Gunlase picked up his claws and sword, and dashed toward the fray.

He veered to one side and scooped up the undamaged shield from one of the many knights Furia had felled without much struggle.

An interesting design that they had, it was made of metal, so that was better than his P.O.S. wooden one.

He charged straight for a knight on the left most side, one who was decently isolated from the rest of the group. Enough that Gun should be able to kill it before others showed up.

A bolt cracked for its neck from the tip of its sword and he approached on its right side. The bolt will hopefully have stunned it enough for him to make a hard slash with his sword to cut off its right leg, as well as do some serious damage to its steed, as the blade would slice through the back of its neck as well.

HP: 142.25
MP: 43
New shield: 150 hp.

Poison left: 1 turn.

Damages: 29 to the face/neck from bolt.

Strike of 180 (90x2) to the right thigh of the knight, also slashing through the neck of the horse.

both turkey legs used (finally >->)

2 dragon fruit used.

The skeleton knight Furia was fighting went down, having taken too much damage from her thrust to it's chest. It's mouth opened wide in a silent scream, as it fell off it's horse. The horse itself fell to pieces as well, creating a much larger pile of bones around Furia. The dead were certainly beginning to pile up. Yet there were still plenty of Skeleton Knights, and one filled the gap that had been opened. The pressure on the footmen and archers had gone down subsequently. A volley of arrows found their marks in the mounted undead knights. Each knight got hit at least once. The skeleton that had filled the gap to fight Furia swung at her hard, aiming to hit her on the shoulder with her arm already stretched out like that.

Moris' bolt had hit the mark, shocking and stunning a skeleton knight momentarily, then a pair of arrows hit the creature, doing even more damage to it. The footman who was holding it back with his battered shield took the lapse in the skeleton's attacks as a sign to attack, and slashed at the creature, unleashing a slow, but furious assault, hitting it three more times. The undead knight was broken and battered, it fell to pieces, yet another one couldn't take it's place.

Gunlase's bolt struck the knight, and confused it for a moment. It didn't know where the bolt had come from until it spotted the man coming towards him with it's peripheral vision (even though it had no eyes to speak of), it tried to wheel it's horse around and strike down at the man, more than likely clipping him on the shoulder with it's sword before it's leg would be taken off and the dead horse's head with it.

The line of skeleton knights was growing thin.

Skeleton Knights: 9/20

Furia's Foe: 140/140 (New)

Moris's foe: Destroyed, pick a new enemy.

Gunlase's Foe: Destroyed, pick a new enemy.

Damage at Furia: 25 (Shoulder)

Damage at Gunlase: 25 (Shoulder)

Gun winced as the blade bit into his shoulder. It was a relatively shallow strike by the angle, but it was enough to hurt. Hunching over slightly, Gun stabbed his sword into the dirt and pulled a minor healing potion from his belt and drained it down, chucking the vial at the next knight he was going after, once the wound had closed up by the potions effect. The undead was a dozen or so feet away, and Gun took up his sword, suddenly feeling better. The poison had finally worn off, and he'd be able to fight at full capacity.

Pulling his sword out of the dirt with a grunt, he started to walk forward, shifting his new shield on his arm as he advanced towards the knight. Again he'd approach from its right side, though with his left facing it more as he stabbed with his sword for its right thigh. The blade reached under and around a raised shield, ready to block another strike from another dead-head.

Short.

HP: 129.75

Damages: 23 to the knights head (chucked empty potion vial.) 90x 2= 180 to knights thigh (stab with sword)

one minor hp pot used.

Furia's arm caught the blade and got knocked to the side. With the hit she spun, passing her sword to her shield arm and slashing up at the mounted knight in a spin, aiming to take off the monster's neck to take the head off. Her blood dripped from the armor. It was a light wound, and wouldn't hinder her much. With the spin complete, she passed her sword back to her sword arm, preparing to continue to fight. If the skeleton knight hadn't been taken out by the slash at it's neck, then she would follow up with a vertical chop at it.

She looked out with her peripheral vision, checking on those that were on the line. The men to her immediate right and left were doing alright, they were battered and beaten, but not defeated. They were holding up well. She couldn't ask for braver men to have been sent to her. Halwurst had done them all a great favor.

Damage @ skeleton: 118 [387] per attack.

Moris had discovered the power of electricity. ULTIMATE FREAKING POWER OF LIGHTNING HARNESSED BY MAN!

He pointed his hand at another skeleton knight's head, and blasted a double charged bolt. Hopefully the bolt would stun the knight long enough for the footmen fighting the knight to take it out. With that bolt fired, he picked another Skeleton Knight, and launched yet another double charged bolt at it. Then picked yet a third skeleton knight, and fired another double charged bolt at it.

"I like this spell."

Feeling a little tired from the multiple castings of the Bolt spell, Moris took a short breather, looking at the footmen hold off the Skeleton Knights. It was somewhat interesting, but when you're tired, nothing seems too interesting anymore. Hopefully the archers, footmen, and those other two people whom were fighting could hold them off a minute.

Two arrows collided with a skeleton knight, piercing it's chest plate. The arrows came from archers behind the line of footmen, whom had attacked last round. Three skeleton knights went down in quick succession, thanks to Moris' efforts of stunning the knights that were attacking the line with lightning bolts. The arrows had hit their marks, the bolts had hit their marks, and the footmen had finished off their foes. Three down, only a few more left to go.

The Knight that had been fighting Gunlase lost it's leg and fell off the other side of it's horse since it couldn't hang on with only one leg. The skeletal horses shattered and so did the knight. The vial had been dodged previously.

Furia's opponent met a quick end as the head came spinning off, hitting another skeleton knight in the process, then rolling off towards the sniveling and cowering necromancer whom was still curled up in a ball.

With so many more footmen free of their attackers they went to back up their battle brothers, hacking and slashing at the skeleton knights, surrounding them and bringing them down. Archers fired arrows at the enemies and it was only a few moments more until the remaining five fighting knights had been taken down.

Victory had been achieved.

"Take that traitor prisoner! Victory is ours!"

"Aye, Sir!"

"Glory for the Faith and the Empire!"

"None can stand against the might of the Throne!"

Two footmen gathered the necromancer and bound his hands with irons. There wasn't a struggle, not anymore at least. His fate was going to be decided by higher ranking military personnel. Which generally meant Furia, since she was the highest ranking official in the general area. The men brought the traitor before her, and waited.

Everyone else went about celebrating their victory over the undead forces here.

Victory is achieved. Finish the thread.

Gunlase's pupils widened, taking in more light as he heard cheers of victory go up. Looking for yet another opponent, he glanced around, confused, and slightly dazed. He'd killed...shit. He couldn't remember how many undead. He was still looking for more.

After a full minute, he stabbed his sword into the dirt again and leaned against it, slumping lower and lower until he was on his knees. Breathing hard, his body started shaking as adrenaline drained from him, and he ended up leaning both forearms on the long pommel/ base of the guard of his sword. His forehead pressed against the cool metal of the skeleton shield, sweat dripped from the end of his nose that hadn't been there before. Eyes closed, Gun's breath slowed until he was barely breathing at all, in a half meditative, half sleeping state.

Fairly oblivious to the outside world, his mind was devoid of the worries and angers of the others directed at the traitor. It was over; He was exhausted.

Total kills:

21 zombies, 10 warriors, 8 archers, 4 knights, 2 ghouls.

Furia wanted to celebrate with the troops. She didn't want to make a ruling on another man's life. Despite the fact that they were the enemy. The two footmen had dragged the prisoner to her and awaited her orders. She knew what it was like to be a footman, a frontline soldier, all you did was follow orders with unshakable faith in your duty and commander. Lo and behold, Furia was officially the ranking officer on this field of battle. Which meant she had a decision to make.

The first option was to execute the man here and now for his crimes. Among those crimes was heresy, treason, and practicing forbidden arts. All of which were crimes which she could have him executed for. The moral issue here was not whether or not she should execute him, because she would without a doubt. It was her duty. It was when he should be executed. Perhaps there was something about troop deployment that they could learn from the necromancer.

"We're going to bring him back to camp. Have him questioned thoroughly, we'll execute him after."

"Aye ma'am."

"Alright boys, let's gather what we can, and report back to the staging area. We've got one last base to hit."

With that Furia had gathered and mounted her horse Shei'ha, and watched the troops gather weapons and the like from the fallen enemies. Most of which would be melted down for the scrap it's worth, probably. When they were done that. Furia'd leave with the troops and head back to the staging area. So they could hit that fort that the enemy had taken.

Our beloved coward thoroughly enjoyed the fact that he was a helpful person in this battle, and helped decide the way it ended. A few quick lightning bolts really did make a difference it seemed. Moris went about cheering with the rest of the men. Patting each other on the back, giving out compliments and comments on each others bravado and tactics. Not a casualty had been suffered it seemed. When Furia gave the order to go back to the camp, Moris was releaved. He was hungry, tired, and would enjoy a nice rest.

"Finally."

Then he realized he'd be walking back, with the footmen. He, unlike the other officers, didn't have a horse, and thus didn't have any means to get back other than his two feet. Which made him feel terrible because he was already tired and didn't want to walk at all. This depressed him slightly.

Why can't I be carried?! I want a horse!

-Sigh.-
