Being a relatively new recruit, Aaron had a choice: he could stay and train or he could go participate in a current battle. The choice was obvious to both him and his sister, Josephine: they were going to battle. Within an hour of notice, Aaron and Josephine were prepared to go. They were given two horses, directions and rations. With all that, they set off. Leaving Fordeth, they galloped hurriedly; they were told they would need to travel fast or they may get there too late. The whole while, Aaron worried about the horses and if they would die, but in the end, he knew it did not matter, the safety of others did, however. Thus for two days – day and night – they continued until the Cruinthian camps were on the horizon.
Arriving at the labyrinth of camps, Aaron knew they needed to find the tent in which the Commander was in. They were told the commander in charge of this battle was Commander Halwurst, neither knew who he was, but they would surely know when they saw him. Weaving between tents, exhaustion was clear in the movements, yet they did a pretty decent job of holding themselves together. Finally, they reached a larger tent that without a doubt belonged to the Commander. Upon entering, they saw that there was already a crowd forming. Consequently, they waited at the entrance of the tent for their turn.
After some while, they realized it was not coming soon. So, after it seemed everyone had spoken, Aaron stepped forth in his typical leather armour – not usually seen on White Mages – and introduced himself, ”Greetings, Commander Halwurst. I am Aaron Ramino and this is my sister, Josephine. We are here to lend our arms in this upcoming battle.” His voice was thick with fatigue, but he made sure he looked sharp and alert. This was no time to be overcome by such a simple thing as lack of sleep.

"If it works Agent Bloodwraith, I'll give you the credit you'll deserve."
Everyone and their sister walked in, literally. He wanted to smack the tent guard for letting everyone inside while he was in a meeting with an agent of the archmage. His fist shook and he nearly reached for his weapon to crack some skulls open. But before he could do that he heard something about a price and that made his brain do a double take.
When Halwurst looked at the barbarian the anger seethed from him.
The barbarian might as well have held up a big flashing sign that said: I'M A MERCENARY, KILL ME NOW.
"Everyone who is in the military, report to your commanding officer, and no one else is to enter this tent. Merc, you and I get to have a little chat."

From his observations, Tristan could just tell the Commander was getting more and more irritated. Tristan never had to deal with this man before, but he seemed like one that is not someone you want to anger. So, as soon as he told them to get out, Tristan did and Marissa and Markus followed behind him quickly, as well.
Relief hit Tristan as he left the tent because it was not him that was going to be subject to Halwurst’s wrath; unfortunately, it was Coran. Following the brief orders given, the three of them began to search out their commanding officer.

Coran felt a chill run down his spine when the commander asked everyone to leave except him, he had a feeling how this 'chat" would go. If not for the support that Furia had promised him he wouldn't even have bothered coming here.
"Fine..."
Coran stood aside from the crowd of people and crossed his arms waiting for them to leave.

Without a second longer in the tent, Aaron beckoned quietly to Josephine and they both left the tent. It was getting tense in the Commander’s tent and he was glad he was out. He felt bad for Coran, though, because it seemed like he would get a good ‘talking’ to by Halwurst.
Both him and Josephine were exhausted by they ride to camp; however, they followed their orders and began to find their commanding officer in this grand camp. Certainly, this would take a very, very , very long time.

Everyone had left except for the mercenary. Who did this guy think he was? Did he have any credentials? Any papers? Any proof that he was credible? He might turn on them and kill his troopers from behind for more gold. The Legion and the demons could certainly offer the man more gold than he was willing to even consider paying a mercenary. That was the problem with hiring mercenaries, they'd turn on you for money.
"So you're here for money huh? You've got a problem with fighting for good people without getting paid? Do you have a problem with saving lives just because it's the right thing to do? How am I supposed to fucking know that you're not going to turn around and stab my men, and some of my best men, in their backs in the night while they fight that filth out there. You came in here with a cocky attitude, like I'd pay someone like that. Marching in my tent while I'm in a meeting with the Agent of the Archmage, and underlining that you'll do just about anything for a price."
The commander spat at the ground in front of Coran.
"What do you think Martha, can we trust the barbarian?"

Martha mulled the question the commander threw at her over. It was interesting, could they trust a Darthak barbarian to watch the backs of their men and not turn on them at the slightest hint of more gold. Well, that would be left up to them men now wouldn't it? If the commanding officer of the mission could trust Coran, then it would be their own fault for getting sliced and diced by him, wouldn't it?
And on top of that, if the group didn't pull the mission off, then she and Halwurst would just assemble a different team and lead the mission themselves.
"Well... let's see if the troops can trust this mercenary. Do you have anyone that can speak for you Mr.....?"

Coran said nothing as the commander went on about how he could be a traitor and what not, he only frowned and clenched his fist when he spat. Coran hated the undead for what they did to his village, by implying that he could be on their side Halwurst was like a personal insult to him.
Although when agent Bloodwraith spoke Coran's frown turned into a grin, now he could play the Furia card, also any of his other friends, that would surely convince them.
"Demer, and yes there are some of your troops who would vouch for me, Furia Deimos I believe she is one of your top ranking officers."

"Simmons! Go fetch Furia! I want to talk to her about this mercenary."
"Sir, yes sir!"
Simmons got up from his position and departed instantly. Meanwhile, the commander stared Coran down, just looking him over. He was waiting for him to just twitch the wrong way so he could cut the poor mercenary apart.
Simmons left the tent and looked about for Furia, but found a couple of people looking around for their commanding officer. Namely, Tristan, Aaron and their respective parties of people. He gestured that they follow him along to her. Eventually Simmons found Furia and cleared his throat.
"Bronze Knight Deimos, the commander wishes to see you. I will lead you to him. Also, these two officers and their parties are being assigned to your squad. I will lead you to the commander."

"Ah, yes sir."
Furia got up off the ground and put her loose gear away in her military pack, then put the rest of her armor on, so she'd at least look presentable. From there she went with Simmons to the command tent. She'd follow him along, acknowledging Tristan and Aaron.
"You two stay here. I'll be back with orders."
When she got to the command tent she stood outside and waited a minute, making sure that all her gear was on straight. Halwurst was the man that had promoted her so much in the past few days, she had shown the strength, the capability to lead. But this mission was the make or break point. Her career hung on this the success or failure of this mission. She went inside the tent.
"Furia Deimos reporting as ordered Commander."
She spotted Coran and instantly knew what this was all about. He had gotten himself in a load of trouble by reporting directly to Halwurst, that was a bad idea. Now she had to vouch for him, which meant that if he fouled up royally she was to be blamed for it. She promised him that she would do it, a while back, but it put just a little bit more pressure on her this time around.

"I understand that you can vouch for this man Miss Deimos."
The commander said as he got comfy at his desk. He fiddled around with his maps and looked through a few pieces of parchment, just letting her sweat it out a bit. He looked up and checked her again. She was a tough soldier, ever since the beginning of this campaign she had held it together, and he had relied on her through the entire campaign to lead the men.
"Now, if you want him in your team, you are responsible for him. That is all there is too it. He will be paid the normal rate for a mission like this. Now I'd like to go over the mission details with you. So if present mercenary company will please excuse himself, we can begin."
The commander would wait for Coran to leave before saying any of the following:
"Now, we have been watching the Fort for some time. There are around two hundred enemies located within the fort to be accounted for. More like closer to three hundred according to our scouts. It is suggested that your team and troops move as close as possible under the cover of darkness then attack the enemies on the north wall while rushing the gate and getting inside. Then you ought to split up your troops so that you can swarm the fort and take it over as quickly as possible. You must secure the fort BEFORE they get more reinforcements or you'll be hard pressed to defend yourselves."
He took a breath and looked over what he could spare.
"You'll get two platoons. I don't have any supplies that I can spare. But Agent Bloodwraith has gifts for your team. When she's done with you get going so you can get a head start. I'll divert reinforcements your way when I receive them."

"Alright Furia, I've got a bunch of stimulant potions for you and your men. From what I understand, just you officers are fatigued and not the footmen and archers. Which is good because I don't have enough potions for all of them. In that crate in the corner are thirty potions. Enough so that each officer can get two. Put them in these two potion bags. Good luck sweet heart."
Martha uncrossed her legs and then crossed the other one and folded her hands over them. Two potion bags popped into existence above Furia and would drop right in front of her. The young woman had her orders now, and she should get moving so that the troops could get moving.
The agent winked at the young woman and then turned to smile at Halwurst, as if wanting the praise that she so rightly deserved.
Furia has been given command of 2 platoons of standard troops.
1 platoon consists of: 15 footmen, 10 archers. All fully equipped and rested.

After Furia settled things with the commander Coran left the tent and left the planning to them, he had no mind for strategies just point him out to the nearest group of skeletons and he'll do his job. He found Tristan and Aaron who had sparred with before.
"Well I'm glad that's done with."
Coran would greet Tristan with a clap on his shoulder, he was relived to have him covering his back.
"Nice to see some friendly faces for a change. I'm guessing your as tired as I am though."

Gun's eyes opened right about the time that Bloodwraith teleported the potion bags. Call it feeling the magick or whatever. Didn't really matter. What mattered was that it seemed like it was time to go. Nudging the other two silently, Gun stood and walked over to where they'd left their horses. Having been fed and watered among other things, the horses were somewhat read to go. They didn't want to, to be sure, but then again, none of them did. They wanted time to rest. Time to recover their strength and hit this place at full strength.
But shit never worked out as planned. Why would it?
Trotting slowly, they three of them lead their horses over toward the Commanders tent. He'd said report back there, hadn't he? So that's where they were, and that's where they sat rather solemnly, waiting for orders. Gun couldn't help but wonder how many undead were in there, and if they would be enough to kill them all. Magick and Arrows would be relied on heavily, here. Kill them all before they have a chance to take advantage of the weakened states of the troops.
